Arena Copacabana Hotel

My experience at Arena very good..The staff downstairs was execellent. The older gentleman behind the desk spoke very good english and helped me in finding my wallet which I had lost upon arriving at the hotel..He was so kind in calling the taxi-cab company which I thought was where I had lost it however he called the airlines also and was able to locate it. I had lost it on the plane. If it wasn't for him my vacation would have been ruined.. I would definately go back to the Arena. If I had to complain about anything it would be that the a/c in the hallways could have been better. The pool up on the roof top was small but very nice...We really enjoyed our stay there...

Great location, right across the street from Copacabana Beach.. Many restaurant choices around the neighborhood. Fantastic ocean view from room.. Especially the sunrise. Great terrace pool with beautiful view of the beach scene. Nice breakfast buffet with varieties.

After a long flight from Sydney it was a pleasure to walk into nice modern hotel with helpful staff and clean rooms overlooking the famous Copacabana Beach. The roof top bar was a great place to have sundowners and a snack. Our few days at the Arena were very enjoyable.

The staff is really friendly, and very well located

I was in Rio for 24 hours and wanted to be near the water and in a safe, business-friendly environment. The hotel is clean and green (environmentally speaking). Because I speak no Portuguese, it was very helpful the staff spoke English and were very helpful as I tried to navigate the neighborhood. The rooftop balcony was a lovely place to end the day with a cocktail overlooking the beachfront and the skyline. Breakfast buffet was hearty and delicious. Disappointed that for the price of the room, wi-fi is an additional charge. The clientele felt very business-oriented. I'd definitely return.

Overall this is a nice hotel. It's right on the beach and our room had a direct view of the water. Breakfast is OK, perhaps somewhat limited compared to other places. It's closer to the north end of Copacabana so it's a 30 min walk if you also want to visit the Ipanema and Leblon beaches. All the staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful with local arrangements (airport pickup, local tours) and even loaned us an adapter for our 110 V plug. Be warned that the price is on the higher side though.

Not like the pictures, very ordinary, a bed like a slab of rock and a tiny room, a "deluxe" room at that, with only an uncomfortable desk chair. .

The staff was wonderfull and very helpful. The front desk all spoke English. It's across from the beach, so you can't go wrong with this hotel. My husband and I booked a room with a partial view of the ocean.Deborah, the hotel manager, upgraded our room the last 2 days to a full view of the ocean. Tips if you book at this hotel: -bring a small clock, there are none in the room. -bring a travel steamer, there is no iron. -do not pay for the Internet at this hotel. There's a few Internet cafes nearby that charge 1 real for 15 minutes

We were extremely pleased with the location, the cleanliness and the helpfulness of the staff. We were very pleasantly surprised with the English language ability of the desk staff as well as the overall cost for a quality modern hotel right on Copacabana beach. This hotel is exceptionally located to view both Corcavado and Sugarloaf Peak from the pool bar as well as to walk the night market on the beach or to sample top churrascaria meals in Rio. A minor inconvenience was the late morning opening of the roof-top pool which otherwise would offer a great cool down dip after a morning run with the Copacabana crowd.

A spectacular hotel with a view of Copacabana Beach. The newly renovated hotel is very modern with all the amenities of a five star hotel. The staff provided the best service. The restaurant was a great place to eat and breakfast was included. Highly recommended and will go again.
