Golden Tulip Ipanema Plaza

Ipanema Plaza was the perfect location! It was on a lively street, close to the beach, and had a great rooftop pool. Breakfast was basic. The staff, especially at the reception, were extremely unfriendly and borderline rude. The rooms were clean and spacious.

Very dirty！too expansive! totally not worth! they are only 3 star hotel, but get 5 star price!

Hotel has great location. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for luxury, this is not a choice you should make, but if you can settle for reasonable comfort, this is it. Breakfast included in price was good.

Nice staff but reception desk seemed frustrated and satiated with routine. Need more support dynamics. Rooms clean. shower tiles need cleaning, door frames rusting, smell of cockroach/insect killing chemicals. Very important, airvents in shower do not work. Humidity takes over and it takes long for mirrors to clear. Utility closets dead roaches seen when maintenance came up to reduce hot water pressure. Refrigerators very week, innefficient, could not keep water cold. drainage dirty with meldew. Excellent pool area. Dry sauna less efficient than wet sauna/steam room. Breakfast excellent. Need small coffee pots to take to tables when requested. To get up to refill coffee staning on line ... food got cold. No facial tissues. So, toilet tissues had to be used. Chips on floor tiles need to be patched. EXCELLENT ENERGY SAVING CONCEPTS. HALLWAY LIGHTS WOULD BE ON ONLY WITH MOTION DETECTION.

great location, couple of minutes from ipanema beach and in a lively neighborhood. went in early december and weather was mostly sunny. hotel restaurant is pretty decent, the rooftop pool has spectacular views, workout room leaves something to be desired, but mostly the location is why to stay here

One block from Ipanema beach. Very nice. Large complementary breakfast buffet. Although, I''ve been to other Golden Tulip and this one wasn't as nice, as well maintained. Here you pay for the location.

Room costed a lot per night and was expecting a true 5 star or a true boutique hotel experience as was described but it all turned out to be a miss. Rooms were extra small, bathrooms smaller, very outdated bathrooms and had stain marks on the bed sheets and wash basin, toilet and bath tub. However, the hotel staff were friendly, helpful. Location is a plus. Good food especially the Asian restaurant had good choices. Buffet breakfast was included. Having said that, I Wouldn't stay there again due to unclean bathrooms, smaller size.

We love this hotel! We were able to feel like locals, walking and bar hopping among very cool places and always feeling safe; the hotel personnel was helpful and attentive with the recommendation about places to go and eat. The restaurant serves the best sushi I tried in my life! Specially good with the 20% off vaucher the hotel gave to each of us at the check in. Check the swimmingpool at the top flor.... The view is breath taking. At the Ipanema Plaza you are a short and safe block of a lot of great places.... Some suggestions are: 1. Garota the Ipanema Bar is only one block away. Try the Picanha Brasileira 2. Opium, the hotel restaurant is excellent! Try the Exotico sushi platter. This plate has different kind of fish with curry, passion fruit and mango filings.... To die for! 3. Devassa, another bar, is accross the street and open until 2 am 4. The beach is only a block away... It is in the Posto 9... The coolest and hottest beach of all! 5. Shopping is plenty and fun a block away in the Rua Visconde de Piraja. 6. The best churrasqueria is 2 blocks away: Porcao 7. On Sundays, the Hippie Fair is 2 blocks... A must to see We definitely will come back!
