Superbly positioned overlooking the sea, this glamorous Orient-Express landmark in Rio has been welcoming the rich and famous since its Art Deco doors swung open in 1923. Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers danced here and the Rolling Stones tuned up in its grand salon before their concert on the beach.

The magnificent pools, with its adjacent super-cool Bar do Copa, are where Brazil's style setters gather to soak up the sun. The hotel's restaurants are also destinations in themselves, whether for great local dishes or fine Italian dining in Hotel Cipriani Restaurant.

The Copacabana Palace has 245 rooms and suites in total, 147 are found in the Main Building, of which 71 are suites and 76 are bedrooms. The brand new accommodations with city view, located in the Tower Wing Building, comprising a total of 58 suites and 40 bedrooms.
Each of them is individually designed with fine period furniture and original works of art, giving a elegant yet relaxed ambiance. Views are either of the world-famous Copacabana beach, or towards the city.

Rio de Janeiro is an awe-inspiring city of contrasts. Impossibly steep granite mountains jut out of the ocean between glorious stretches of golden sand, impeccable colonial buildings nestle in between modern glass skyscrapers and verdant forests tumble down hillsides into densely populated residential areas. Rio is a city high on life, a city of beach worship, football, samba and Carnival. And high above all this fun and frivolity stands Rio's ever-present, iconic landmark - the statue of Christ the Redeemer. The Cariocas - as the citizens of Rio are known - are characterized by a passion and enthusiasm for life.

Additional Charges - R$ 9,00 tourism tax.
Amenities - Lobby, Reception and Smoke-free hotel.
Pets are allowed in the hotel (Fee applies).

Breakfast is included in the rate, served at Pergula Restaurant only.

great senior getaway

Loved the hotel, the staff (with the exception of the conceirge staff who was very slow to respond to request-even after a nice reals tip) and the pool. great location on Copa beach. But we felt the Cipriani restaurant was overpriced. Be sure to book a package with free breakfast or you will pay 165 br for two. Suggest hiring a car and driver for the day to see Sugar Loaf, Corcavado et al since the crowds were huge and our dirver knew the locals working the sites and got us threw the crowds fast.

Unbelieveable getaway

We could not have asked for or found a better staff and hotel. We have been to 5 star hotels before and there have been some that should have had a 4 star rating. The Copacabana Palace Hotel should have a 6 star rating. Every possible need was met and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay (as brief as it was) as fun and comfortable as possible. Even if you never leave the hotel you will feel as if you have had the vacation of a lifetime. We felt safe and secure as well. We hope to return soon and are able to stay longer.

THE place in Rio!

The Copacabana is an unbeatable hotel and location in Rio - the presence of tiny paparazzi helicopter cameras alone should let you know that you have "arrived".
