The hotel had a perfect location across from the central Copacabana metro station. Nice rooftop pool with good view. I did have problems at checkout with Orbitz booking

Fair value

The hotel is ok, staff are very friendly, breakfast is good and there is free internet, but it is a little old, i think they really need to refurbish. It next to the subway station so very convince to go to the city.

Reservation problems

Overall an OK experience.Issues: - The front desk staff was rather rude. I don't take it personally, so it wasn't a major problem for me.- [...]

This hotel is a bit retro. 70's

This hotel is a bit retro. 70's deco. The service was excellent and the breakfast was very, very good. Everyone was super friendly and I woud definitely stay there again even when the hotel rooms probably haven't been upgraded since the 70's :-)

Good value, location OK

I didn't really know what to expect, I searched in for hotels with 3-4 stars and looked for price. Being my first time in Rio I was a little skeptical. I went for it and it was worth it. Location is not super ideal, a 10 minute walk to the beach, but I am sure you save a few bucks because I doubt you find this price with beach view. Hotel is decent, clean, comfortable and decent staff. I didn't even try the restaurant, in the corner there is a juice stand that is worth every penny, for $10 bucks you'll have the best just made juice and a nice bread. Good deal.

Copacabana trip

We really enjoyed our trip to Copacabana in January, 2010. The Premier Copacabana Hotel Staff was very helpful and professional, rooms are nice and clean, the breakfast was light and healthy, served in a classy manner. The hotel is located in a walking distance from the beach, stores, food places. We took an 8-hour tour on a second day and covered 6-7 great location visits for 180 reals a person. Highly recommended to save time, money and to learn a lot from a local tour guide. The museums tickets are very affordable (about 4-5 reals each) and we did the cultural tour by ourselves. Subway metro will take you to downtown for about 6 reals round trip. Very clean and safe! To visit Botanical Gardens in Rio just take the bus for a couple of reals and it will take you there in about 30 min. This was a great trip, we loved Brazil! January is a great time to visit, if you have a limited budget. Will definitely go back again!!!

Better than expected but

Better than expected however couple of things bugged me. The configuration of the room was odd. There were two rooms. An entrance like foyer that was seperated from the living area. Wifi signal was good only in this outer room. On checkout the desk clerk charged me for the room and mini bar. I explained to them I payed through Orbitz and I told them I did not take anything from the bar. She cleared it up. The mini bar after I told her twice. As far as tours day cleark and night clerk were 30 reais apart. Gave me a sense of dishonesty. They also should advertise shuttle service to airport. Helps alot since it cost 80 reais for a taxi. Other than that I'd stay there again. Like I said it was decent.

Great Hotel for the money

The hotel is a good value for the money. It is located a few blocks from the beach. The hotel is in a good section of Rio.They do close the lobby bar very early which is problem if you want a drink before bed but the bartenders are nice and friedly.

Some of the best places to eat are along the beach. They accept all major credit cards. Please remember that despite the the claims to be authentic Italian or Chinese food you will get a Brazilian version of the food. There is a difference.

Good Stay.

The staff were very freindly and helpful. The accomadations were clean and tidy. Room Service is efficient and quick. The room was small but not overly so. (The air-conditioning works just fine!) Rooms aren't all that sound proof and if a amourous couple happens to occupy the room above or beside you, you'll know it!!! Otherwise, the hotel is very nice!

If your tempted to try one of the corner shop pastries that are offered everywhere, DON'T!!!! Unless you have a cast-iron stomach, eating these stomach bombs is an invitation to a date with your commode! OFTEN! And always late at night and into the next day!!!
