Sao Paulo Mecure on Pamplona

The rooms are clean and modern and we felt relatively safe. The neighborhood abuts the a very wealthy one, but Pamplona itself is not chic in the least. It's not nearly as close to the main attraction of Avenue Paulista: there's a long, uphill walk involved. The staff leaves much to be desired. They smiled nicely when asked questions, but did not demonstrate any real desire to help. The WiFi is free but it does not work -- AT ALL. I remember 14.4 bpm modem connects that were faster (I jest, not). Would much rather pay for it. They supposedly have a pool and gym on the roof but the elevator never when up to that floor. Were it a priority we would have pushed, but it wasn't so it was just another disappointment.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

For a nice, cosmopolitan meal, go to Spot. The patrons and staff are beautiful and the food very good. (Our waiter had an attitude but the others did not.)
