Eat at Bumpers. It had a super salad bar. The prime rib and pork ribs combo was great. It came with cooked carrots, a choice of baked potato with the trimmings, rice or french fries. The chocolate cake was too much for three of us to finish. It was fantastic, especially the frosting.

GREAT!!
The Douglas Fir is very close to the downtown of Banff. You can walk or take the free bus that picks you up directly in front of the resort. My partner and I enjoyed a great day of skiing, a nice night out at a Greek restaurant, and a great couples massage. The room had a big balcony and an even bigger television!! It was quiet at night and it was overall a fantastic time!!

Too expensive for the type of facility
The staff was friendly and helpful. However, the units were dark, dreary and small. It was much more rustic than described. There were many steps with no rails. It was not worth $127 a night. I would not go there again. It was a very disappointing place to stay.

Awesome Family Getaway!!!
The room was clean, quiet and very accomodating for a family of four. The children loved the waterpark and it was great to have a little store on site. Very well maintained and the staff was awesome! Will recommend this resort and will be returning! We vacation in Banff at least once a year!

Ideal facility
We felt the hotel was ideal. The location just outside of the crowded Banff town center was perfect. Your room key shown to the bus driver is good for free travel throughout the entire Banff area. The water slide is great for young and old alike. The desk clerk was very helpful with suggestions for hikes, gas, groceries and getting around.

Good Value for the Money
The rooms are small but clean and have a wood burning fireplace in them with free firewood. We had a one bedroom. The hotel is about a 1/2 mile out of town, but we preferred that, since we didn't want to be in the hub of things. The nice thing is that you can catch the bus into town and it is free if you show your room key. The bus stop is right across the street. The hotel has an awesome tube slide & pool for kids, and also has a laundry and small grocery store & liquor store on site. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, basic place to stay where you can cook your meals in-house, I definately recommend the Douglas Fir Resort.
