Excellent Stay right off Harbor

For the money, there is no better property out there. Though the property is older, it is kept us nice and has some really nice features, such as two bottles of water in the room. Free wireless internet that worked perfect. Nice bed, no noise on 4th floor. Restuarant off lobby had an excellent breakfast. Hotel right next door to victoria clipper dropoff and hotel. Great location to downtown. Would stay here again.

Dinner at PAGLIACCI'S was excellent! Would highly recomend. Even for a Saturday night the 30 min wait in line was worth the trip.

Only satisfactory

Location of Days Inn was perfect--close to major sites in Victoria, on the waterfront, easy access to bus to Butchart Gardens.I would like to have known in advance (and paid for) the charge for airport shuttle. From talking to the [...]agent and the clerk at the hotel, it sounded like a complimentary shuttle provided by the hotel. Made me short on my Canadian money supply to pay for shuttle both ways. The hotel itself was okay; clerks were polite but not friendly. The bathroom was extremely cramped; I bumped by arm on the corner of the sink/vanity twice. Shower extremely small. Hot tub was outside and weather was too cold to use; this was disappointing. Bed was comfortable, good light and spacious room. I enjoyed getting complimentary bottled water daily and having internet access.

Butchart Gardens worth every penny and effort to get there. Be sure to go back the next day for only $4.00 entrance fee.

Well located

The hotel is well located for sightseeing in Victoria. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel offered good value for money. Slight concerns about security as public could walk in to the hotel and take the lift to any floor without being detected. Some aspects of the cleaning left a lot to be desired.

British Columbia Trip

The Hotel is a block away from the main harbor and the Government Buildings. It has a very good Restaurant and Sports Bar. Wireless internet was not too good. Parking is a little crowded, but you are guaranteed a spot. We were able to park our car at the Port Angeles Ferry terminal overnight in order to get on the first ferry run.

This hotel is located directly

This hotel is located directly opposite the Black Ball ferry terminal and has a fabulous view of the harbour - if you request a harbour view room! No refrigerator in room which was disappointing as we would have appreciated being able to access cool drinks. The only downside was that this hotel is NOT airconditioned and although it was only in the mid 70's outside, the heat in the room built up during the day. We had a table fan which we used at night and opened up the windows. However, if it was not in the height of summer I would not hesitate to stay here again. So close to everything! Also, the restaurant was very good.

"Red Fish Blue Fish" is a great diner on the water, across the harbor (hidden behind the water-planes terminal).

Swiftsure Stay 2010

Overall, our stay at the hotel was great and we will definitely stay there again! The live music in the downstairs bar was WAY too loud - we could hear the words to the songs in our room on the opposite side of the hotel, three floors up. Fortunately, it ended around dinner time. For whatever reason, there is a full step up into the bathroom. There are signs warning of the possible danger, but it creates a bit of a challenge in the dark.....

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

The Sticky Wicket is a restaurant and pub about 8 - 10 blocks from the hotel. It's located on Douglas St., sort of behind/beyond the Empress Hotel. The food is reasonably priced, and we HIGHLY recommend the Seafood Filo Pie and the Salmon Chowder!!! All of their food is great, but these two are AWESOME!!! Well worth the walk!!!!!

Was clean, ordinary small room

Room was clean but very small. The "view" room had a smaller window that was hard to get to (tv, table, chairs) and from across a busy street. View room was right above loud indoor / outdoor bar. From the bed, you do wake up to the harbor view though which is nice. They accepted our dog without a problem and the room was clean and free of prior dog evidences. The bathroom was a joke. The person who is standing at the sink has to shut the bathroom door to stand there to use the mirror and gets hit in the back of the head if someone opens the bathroom door. Definately so small, that only one person can use it at a time. The staff was very friendly but a little ignorant of [...] check-in - he tried to recharge me on [...] credit card (????). A VERY confusing check-in. They use two small flat sheets on the bed (we hate that) so you wake up with your face right on the mattress (no fitted sheet) and the top sheet is untucked and wrapped around your feet. Just one of those pet peeves. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and PLENTY of food but if you choose the credit on a full breakfast instead, expect to pay through the nose for the same coffee, juice and other meal options.

Dining tip: In Hotel

The blueberry scone for the complimentary breakfast is HUGE and with the juice and coffee, you won't need anything else.
