Close to Everything
I really liked the room however the sports bar was right behind the room and every night sounded like the music was right in my room. This went on for 4 nights. We thought we could get dinner there one night however the restaurant was closed..... I would not recommend this hotel.

Very Nice Place for the Price
The hotel is very comfortable and the staff and service are great. It is an excellent deal for the price and the location. It's an older building but they are doing the best they can with it. They have made up for the quality of a 1950s design with a lot of comfort and great service.

we had a good time.
While we were there we just explored the city. I grew up on Vancouver Island, but seldom visited the city. This is the third time my wife and I went there. This time we dragged our grown son along. The motel room was quite comfortable with luxurious beds, a 43 inch tv and a refrigerator. We spent most of our time exploring the streets and other tourist sights, including the B.C. museum. On our last day, we drove aimlessly around and let our GPS lead us back to the motel.

Short walk from hotel
We just walked around the downtown area and talked to people, finding out where they came from. It's the best way I know of to meet people and it doesn't cost you anything.

A very good value
The room was extremely clean and the bed, comfortable. The hotel is about 1/2 an hour walk to downtown. Unfortunately, windows didn't open (it should be easy modifying them to open a crack without compromising security. We kept our door open on the latch.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
There are two superb restaurants: Brasserie L'Ecole (rather expensive) and Futaba Japanese Restaurant (a real little gem with good jazz background music, recorded). Victoria itself is a very provincial backwater town. There are great bike rides however. Also Butchart and Butterfly gardens are real delight.

Good service, moderate accomodations
The front desk personnel were very helpful and friendly. The room was your generic King hotel room. Nothing fancy and a bit pricey (as is standard for Canada). The only real complaint is that they didn't have movies available to watch, which is part of the vacation experience. When I asked about getting a discount for the missing feature, we were redirected[...]

Downdown Victoria is amazing. Go to China Town, the Inner Harbor and the Parliamentary buildings. Also, make sure that you visit the Empress Hotel and see all the art and gift shops. Miniature world is in the Empress, as well, and was very cool. It's cheaper and more beautiful to take the Washington State Ferry from Anecortes to Sidney, provided you have a car.

Perfect for the price, a real 3 stars
About 1 to 1.5 KM from the Harbor, Restaurants and all Victoria is all about. The staff was very kind and helpful. Extra clean room and furniture. This was above our expectations. This is not a 5 stars resort but a very nice and well maintained Hotel with everything you need.If you don't want to spend all your money for sleeping, this place will suit you good. We spent 6 nights and will come back again!

very happy
I was worried about booking a hotel sight unseen, but the minute I saw the hotel I knew I would be happy. It was in good condition and decorated nicely for the Christmas season. Our room was clean and bright and we had a great view of Victoria (which was about a 5 minute drive away). We breakfasted in their cozy lounge area: tasty food, friendly waitress. We did have a problem with the heating in our room. But as soon as mentioned this at the front desk, they sent a maintenance person to check the heater. By the time we returned to our room that evening, the heater was working, plus they'd left a mini electric heater, so our room was very toasty and warm for the rest of our stay.
