Place Louis Riel Suite Hotel

The hotel was down town and close to many urban attractions. The dining ammenities at the hotel are average, but there are many great options within walking distance. The hotel was clean, well maintained, and the staff was great.

I REALLY ENJOYED THE FULLY FUNCTIONING KITCHEN.... I WAS ABLE TO PICK UP GROCERIES AND COOK MY OWN MEALS.... THE KING SIZE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AS WELL. GREAT COMFORT AWAY FROM HOME FOR LONGER STAYS.

The hotel is very clean and its staffs are really friendly and polite. I felt very comfortable and safe while staying there.

Stayed here during a bitterly cold period of the Winnipeg winter and was very satisfied. Was a bit leery after reading several reviews that stated that the location is poor, but I did not come across any of the negative things that were mentioned (aggressive panhandling, vagrants, etc) but that could have been due to the extreme cold (it was minus 20F) however the area did not look like a bad area to me. In fact I walked the streets nearby after dark every night and never encountered any problem and never felt the least bit unsafe. There are entries to the Winnipeg skywalk system not too far away to get you out of the cold. Checked in in less than 5 minutes, the room was spacious and clean with separate bedroom, kitchenette, coffee, comfy couches, internet, etc. The bed was comfortable and the room heating was excellent considering how cold it was outside. There is a restaurant and a convenience store located in the lobby. One thing to take note of in regards to location: this place is not located right in the "heart" of downtown, you will need to walk to get to the main areas, but it is only a short 5-10 minute walk up Smith street up to Portage and you are there.

The hotel was very nice. It was easy to get in and out. The staff was great. The room was very comfortable. You have to pay to park but it was secure.

An outstanding hotel on the whole. Maybe the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in - firm underneath but luxurious padding on top. Spacious, well-appointed suite. Helpful staff. I had room service twice. First a good tuna salad; then a very disappointing half rack of ribs with caesar salad and baked potato. The potato was by far the best thing.

Super location downtown, although rooms facing east face a rather unseemly senior citizen/public housing high rise. Ask for the west view with a great view of the city and Legislative building. I was upgraded to a a remodeled site that was very trendy and had a Ipod player, fridge, full stove, bar and stools, BR and big living room. The king size bed was very comfortable with lots of fluffy pillows and a beautiful spread. 2 flat screen TVs with the larger in the LR. As its in central Winnipeg, it doesn't take long to get anywhere from there. PARKING IS $10 A NIGHT. eXCUISITE Aborignal art in the room and hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel, western view. There is a convenience store downstairs. Near great hopping and restaurants and Via Rail and the Forks are a short walk away.

This hotel is not new but they had a multi-million dollar facelift and accommodations are now fabulous. Contemporary decor, new leather furnishings, marble counter tops, stainless steel fridge and stove. Spacious kitchen facilities add to the package at the same price as a smaller hotel room. Free wireless, inexpensive room service. All around great place

This was a great experience! The hotel was amazing and the staff was too. Everything we possibly could have needed was within walking distance and the staff was very helpful in helping us find it all. I highly recommend this hotel if you are going to stay in Winnipeg!
