Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel Fredericton

To start fridge was moldy, and not defrosted.curtains were different lengths, coffee pot needed to be replaced, plug in bathroom didn't work. overall cleansing was fair. Staff in am not very helpful. But inn was near were my Dr. was so that was good. Would I book a room there again not likely.

The Howard Johnson in Fredericton is just like you average hotel really. The linen's on the bed were fantastic and not the usual uncomfortable hotel grade. The room itself was cold and there was no thermostat to adjust. The pool and hot tub were ok, a little small but warm and not overly chlorinated. All in all, it wasn't too bad.

Despite being advertised as, "newly renovated", - this only applied to the lobby. The room was a step back in time - over crowded with useless furniture. The stench was almost unbearable; a cross between smoke and 30 year old must, (it was designated as a non-smoking room) The pool was disgustingly dirty - I'd be surprised if my children didn't contract an infection , not to mention a crowd smoking pot right beside - for a moment I thought I was at a biker convention...and the excersise room smelled like the inside of a hamster cage, the carpet was a petrie dish of bacteria. The spartan breafast was set up in the poorly lit hotel bar - service was friendly, although repeated knocks at the door in the am. to vacate - even though check out not till 11:00 am. The real clincher came upon check out - booked the romm for 88.00$ through Orbitz...hotel could not even produce a recipt with varying excuses...learned today I was actually billed 124.00 on my credit card. Never again.

We stayed here because it was a good place to stop on a long trip. The price was decent but the place was pretty close to being a dump. The lobby had been redecorated and supposedly the rooms had been too, but it seemed like they redid the bathrooms and just threw in some additional furniture in the old yucky rooms. Our room was in the back wing off an old alleyway. Not a favorite place to stay, that's for sure.
