Hotel was very clean, the staff was very friendly. The location was near everything. Parking was very expensive and it was cheaper in a near by lot. Would definitely stay again.

My daughter is considering Dalhousie University. This was our first trip to Halifax - but won't be our last. The location of the hotel plus the amenities and ease of access helped to make this a trip worth repeating - regardless of her ultimate decision.
My only complaint would be the size of the beds. All 3 of us are close to 6" tall. 2 double beds are not big enough for any of us to share.

If you enjoy the intimacy of an old fashioned, period bed & breakfast, this is the place for you. Every room is decorated in period furniture but with modern bathrooms...very quaint and comfortable. You are able to walk anywhere you need to be..shopping, meetings, hospital(VG site), restaurants, Public Gardens, Point Pleasant Park, the VISA train station...The wonderful breakfast that is served in the bright, lovely dining room puts the cherry on top of your visit.

The Lord Nelson is a great place to stay in Halifax because it is within walking distance of everything downtown and by the waterfront. The building is uplifted and well appointed with old world charm. The Victory Arms restaurant/bar was a comfortable place to gather with good, affordable food. Overall a great value for what feels like a more expensive stay.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It reminds me of a Ritz in the US. Its on the corner of the biggest shopping district in Halifax and across the street from the Public gardens that was created by the same man who created Central Park in NYC. It is just a short walk away from many historic sites such as the Citadel as well as the beautiful harbor. Check in and check out was easy and the room was immaculate. I highly suggest this hotel.

Good location for my needs (close to my daughter's apt) but a little far from the beaten track. Still, since Halifax is small, it's fine. It's in a quiet and pleasant part of town, a 5-10 minute walk from the lovely Public Gardens. Staff are super friendly and helpful. I only had two issues: there was a noisy Coca-Cola machine outside my room and no breakfast was served as part of the price. On the other hand, there is a nice fitness center and free unlimited internet access. On balance, a good, clean, friendly and pleasant hotel.

The up and downs of this hotel

Upon arrival at 12:30 a.m. there was no luggage trollies available and one traveller had knee sugery and the other traveller was 81 yrs old. Also the room was not available upon check-in even though I communcated with the hotel twice on the arrival day informing them of late arrival.Also during our stay there was a mouse located on the 5th floor.

We went to a show at the Metro Centre and it was an excellent location. We were disappointed that the advertised parking was Valet parking only and cost $20 every time you want your car. This should be noted on their website. Maybe I am cheap, but this could cost an additional $80 just to take your car out once after arrival.

The hotel was in a great location near the waterfront and at the bottom of the hill the city is based on. It's close to many things so walking is not a problem. Was directly next to Alexander Keith Brewery and Saturday morning Farmer's Market. Good friendly staff and nice rooms. One of two elevators was out of service (and apparently has been for a little while) and no continental breakfast is included (although breakfast is provided if wish to purchase). Overall, a good hotel and a decent price.

The free interent isn't in room but in main lobby and there is a time limit of 15 minutes on the use. There is nothing to do on the compound of the hotel at all.

This hotel is extremely nice- much more than I would have expected from a Comfort hotel. It's brand new and has a very urban vibe. Everything is trendy, calming and manicured. The staff was extremely polite and helpful.
My ONLY complaint about this hotel is that there is very little to do without taking a taxi. There is fast food within walking distance (Wendy's and Tim Horton's Coffee) and also a very quaint little Canadian restaurant that was a good tourist spot- good food nice atmosphere. It's actually connected to the hotel. There is a movei theater a mile away but again, you would need a car/cab to get there. This hotel will cost you $70 Canadian money to get to from the airport so $140 roundtrip (not including tip.) If you want seafood or to see the water you will need transportation to get to downtown Halifax- it's about 15 minutes away.
This is a good palce to stay if you have a vehicle to get around- otherwise I would suggest staying closer to downtown.

The Comfort Inn Halifax was a good hotel for business travelers: nothing fancy but well equipped with complimentary Internet (wired and wireless, FAST), coffee machine, mini fridge, microwave oven, ironing board, good bed.
It looks a bit dated inside but it's well maintained and well run.
Complimentary breakfast was good, spacious breakfast area, well equipped.
No restaurant inside or within walking distance, but I called Swiss Chalet for dinner delivery to my room. It was quick.

Don't Valet Park

We went here for one night on our honeymoon touring Novia Scotia in a convertible. We were greeted with complimentary champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. The rooms were very nice and clean. Only problem with the hotel is that the valet service took our car out and did burn outs Ferris Beuller style. This left the treads on our back tires totally stripped in a car that was rear wheel drive. We were fortunate enough to have nice weather our whole trip, because on the last day with a little mist we skidded off the highway heading home at 65 mph. We were lucky to make it out alive, the car not so much. Had there been bad weather at all on the windy roads of Cape Bretton it could have been worse. After dealing with the mess of a car and getting home we called the hotel, not for compensation but to voice our concern for the safety of other travelers like ourselves. We had pictures of the car the day before and after the hotel and before it had treads and the day after it didn't. They denied their staff would do such a thing. We told them again that we were certain that they did as we had photos to prove it and that we nearly died because of it and it is not a complaint they should take lightly. They again denied it. It's unfortunate that such a nice hotel is staffed with people so irresponsible and unresponsive to customers complaints and willing to risk the lives of their customers for joy rides.

It was our first time in Halifax and our first time staying at the Prince George Hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel as a base for exploring the city, as it is convenient to the convention center, the Citadel, shopping and great restaurants. It is located near the highest point of Halifax, so the walk up from the waterfront area could be strenuous for some folks. However, we found it delightful. We stayed on the Club(?) floor, so enjoyed the wonderfully comfortable bedding and breakfast served in our room each day. We arrived earlier than the normal check in time, but were readily provided a room. The concierge service was truly outstanding. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful...and they appeared to truly enjoy their job. We had lunch in Gio, one of the restaurants in the hotel and it was very satisfying. I would certainly recommend this hotel to those visiting the city. A great boutique hotel.

The Cambridge Suites Hotel in Halifax is in the middle of Halifax, close to the Harbour, Spring Garden Road, Barrington street and directly below the Citadel (Halifax's most popular attraction). The hotel decor and rooms are a bit spartan but the rooms are spacious and are geared towards the business traveller. In addition, there is a lovely rooftop deck with a great 360 degree of the city.
