Very centrally located
The Cambridge Suites Hotel in Halifax is in the middle of Halifax, close to the Harbour, Spring Garden Road, Barrington street and directly below the Citadel (Halifax's most popular attraction). The hotel decor and rooms are a bit spartan but the rooms are spacious and are geared towards the business traveller. In addition, there is a lovely rooftop deck with a great 360 degree of the city.

Clean and comfortable Halifax hotel
Great hotel, close to lots of attractions in downtown Halifax, and nice view of the Citadel. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the breakfast - very poor given the quality of the hotel otherwise. I swear that they put out the same boiled eggs and orange/grapefruit segments every day that I was there. Bring your own breakfast stuff - the suites have a fridge and microwave and dishes.

Gingergrass, on corner of Barrington and Morris has amazing Vietnamese and Thai cuisine. Doesn't look like much from outside, but the food speaks for itself. Great and friendly service too!

Nice hotel to stay
The hotel is clean and has a fridge, microwave and sink. There were two dislikes. One was the parking space availabllity. Paid $16 ovenight which is reasonable but could not find underground space and outdoor. Ended up parked on some other store parking space and left my car key with the front desk. The other was Express check out. Still did not know why Express Check out was not working, had to go throught front desk.

Great Hotel, Great Location
This is the eleventh hotel in the eighth city in the fourth country I've stayed at within the last four weeks. There was a convention in town, so all the standard chains were booked. Boy, am I glad they were! The Cambridge Suites was terrific. Everyone I talked to, every staff member I encountered was cheerful, helpful and polite. I walked into the Cambridge Suites, exhausted after a day of traveling and was immediately greeted with a smile. [...] checked me in and, after we chatted, she offered me an upgrade for a nominal fee. I didn't feel like I was being upsold and was so glad I decided to 'splurge'! For the cost of coffee, I got a junior suite with sweeping views of the Harbour, hot breakfast (continental is included) and parking. There seemed to be a lot of tour groups as well as business travelers. (Totally reasonable considering that your stay includes complimentary continental breakfast, wifi and a welcome reception.) The hotel is well-located. It's near all the major Halifax sites - the Citadel, downtown, Public Gardens, Dalhousie, the hospital, various pubs, restaurants and offices. The gym was better then most and the view from the roof deck was lovely. The only drawbacks were that the wireless signal was weak in my room and the garage is a bit small (it took a few minutes for me to get a space). These were minor blips in what was, overall, a terrific experience. Ultimately, I think this would be a good place for all kinds of travelers. It's set up for business customers, but offers enough complimentary amenities for a family.

Lovely hotel, perfectly located
I was vacationing in Halifax and chose the Cambridge Suites initially for the location and price (sale offered). I was very pleased with the the friendly staff and the location for all tours. Cambridge Suites was a regular hotel pick-up site so this eliminated any travel to get to the tours. I will stay here again.

Short walk from hotel
The walks to everywhere are pretty short, but keep in mind, there are hills. The city goes from the Citadel straight down to the sea. I suggest tours with hotel pick-ups.
