Perfect location for a girls night out - Hess is within walking distance, and was exactly what the girls were looking for - a pool, a great bar, great location, eats near by, and underground parking!

the roooom was pretty big and the location was great if you're looking to party. its a nice quiet place with a club inside the hotel.

second time to stop for one night. We had not been booked into the same wheelchair accessible room, desk clerk rearranged things so that we did get the same spacious, intelligently laid out room. IN the mean time, we have stayed at a hotel with nearly the same layout, but the doors opened and closed in such a way that it was a puzzle for wheelchair user to enter the room or get into the bathroom!

We were only spending the night on our way across Michigan, but this was an excellent stop. Pleasant check in host who offered an accessible idea for dinner. The room was spacious, there were two beds, not just 1 king, and the bathroom as well as large, boasted an L shaped grab bar that was NOT blocked by anything. Huge roll in shower and sturdy fold down bench were fab.

Hotel was clean and continental breakfast was good. I appreciated the waffle iron for a warm breakfast. We came early one day and left late the next to attend a conference at the convention center and the hotel did not have a problem with us parking for both full days. It was about a 15 minute walk to the convention center (and Hamilton Place). Tim Horton's is almost across the street for the die-hard Timmy's fans (great coffee for good price for you non-Canadians). My only complaint would be the thin walls. You can hear others in other rooms. Please remember that for yourself if you book this hotel- others will hear you. Overall, can't complain about the price given that it is downtown. I can't afford the Crown Plaza down the street so this is a great option in my price point.

The hotel though older was clean and the staff were fantastic. I will however be in touch by phone as they had a plumbing problem and have told me that i will be receiving a 25% discount for 2 of the nights due to this problem

We attended a wedding banquet at Carmen's and decided to stay 2 nights. We were not impressed with the food and service at the banquet. The pasta was burnt and even when we told our wait staff they tried to tell us that the pasta tastes this way. We noticed many of the other guests also didn't eat their pasta. They removed all the drinking glasses after the meal was completed even though we weren't finished drinking the wine. As for the hotel service, the breakfast is complimentary because it is average. When we booked we informed them we were a family of 4 and they didn't tell us breakfast was only included for 2 guests, each additional guest was charged $25 per person which I thought was excessive. I just went on a trip to New York and the buffet at the HIlton was this price. Then they tried to charge an additional $25 per person but when I booked the room they already confirmed it was okay to include my 2 children because there was a pull out bed. I didn't understand why they were trying to overcharge when they weren't "technically" open according to their staff. The hotel was still under construction. Only 1 elevator was working and the staff was also using the elevator even though they saw the guests waiting for a long time. There was a lot of noise. The hot tub was not hot at all, it was cooler than the pool. And they charged the regular price for the room and expected guests to put up with the lack of services. They were late delivering our breakfast. The service doesn't come close to a Best Western. The staff constantly asked if everything was ok but when we told them the problems they only offered an apology or an excuse so I didn't see the point of asking. I thought a new hotel would welcome constructive feedback - not this one. We did like: free wifi, location was off the highway, free coffee in the rooms were convenient but if you didn't use the right cups it didn't work properly. The small fridge and kitchenette is convenient but was later told that guests are not allowed to bring their own drinks. If you are staying for a wedding you can't sleep in. If they need the room immediately they will charge you extra if you stay past 11:00am. The Sheraton allowed guests to check out at 1:00pm if they checked in late. It wasn't great value for the price. Definitely would not stay here again, felt like I had to argue over every charge. If you stay here make sure to ask how many guests the price includes. The cleaning staff will check and inform the front desk.

Fantastic experience

[...] We asked for a non-smoking room at least for subsequent nights; they claimed to be fully booked for days ahead - however, the next day I witnessed a walk-in guest requesting and getting a non-smoking room. The smoking room we got was so stinky, I couldn't breath and didn't sleep well. Our friends who stayed in a room on a different floor couldn't sleep either, but for a different reason: there was a wild biker party going on for much of the night, with people running and screaming in the hallway. Hotel's personnel did try to calm them down, but didn't succeed.
