Amazing stay
Room was pretty clean and the view from window was awesome... I would recommend this hotel to everyone looking for economical and comfortable stay... I would also like to stay over there again.. in short, i enjoyed my trip....

The view does not get any better than this!
We booked a fall-view room and cannot be happier with the scenic view just outside of the window. The hotel, while small, is perched on the best spot that overlooks both the American and Canadian Niagara Falls. There are a few cons, but the view really makes up for all of the little irksome issues: 1. The bathroom is a little shabby 2. The coffee maker is difficult to operate (leakage everywhere!) 3. The window sill is dusty (if the hotel boasts a fall view, they should know their customers will open the curtain and will see a dusty window)

When we went, the hotel has a "Gourmet Package" in promotion. Dinner and breakfast for two at 69 dollars (plus tax) is totally worth it. We didn't drive so was unable to benefit from the winery tasting voucher but it is a good deal.

Oakes Hotel Overlooking The Falls
Incredible view! Staff was great but room was a disaster. There were burn holes in the bed spreads & carpet, towels were dirty. 19" tv with 12 channels. Pool & hot-tub were nice. Parking was $15. All other hotels within walking distance of this hotel offer $5 a night parking.

Journey Behind the Falls - Very close to hotel but is kind of expensive for what you get to see. Tunnel in back of falls allows you to see 2 port hole views behind the falls and one amazing view next to the falls.

Great location
Fabulous location...we stayed on the 9th floor in the 'new' tower. Couldn't have been nicer view, staff was very pleasant and the price was great. Would tell anyone who was going to Niagara to stay here. (And we hope to get back again, too!)

Diamond in the Rough
While not flashy in style or in appearance, this hotel is a good value for the dollar. I have stayed there twice now, and while the first time was actually a better experience than the second, I still had a wonderful stay. The staff is always kind and courteous and helpful. The rooms can show some age, but are clean and nicely presented. It isnt flashy as I have stated, so if that is what you are looking for, you may want to go someplace else, but if you are looking for a positive experience while getting exceptional value, book a room here.

Good Fall views, but not soo good hotel...
We stayed @ oakes for 2 nights in Feb, 2012. We had booked a Falls view room.. check in process was easy eventhough the front desk staff was not very helpful. The views of falls from our room was really amazing.. The room itself was very average for the price we paid..Our coffee maker in the room was not working and we called front desk, they did bring another one a few mins later, but it had a dead bug and dust in the coffee pot. Very small bathroom. Hotel is close to the falls, but a little far from all other major attractions.Overall, i wasnt satisfied by the hotel, and wouldn't stay there again if i go to Niagara Falls again.

The Skylon Tower brunch was very good. Amazing views of falls and friendly staff. Casino was fun too.

It could be better
The room with full view of the falls is not really full. There were no clean towels on the swimming pool. Parking is expensive. $15 per night for on-street parking.
