They gave away my room!!!
I arrived at this hotel after 14 hours of travel to find out that they had cancelled my reservation which I had made 6 weeks ago.. They "claimed" that my travel agent neglected to pass along my credit card info to guarantee the room. I arrived shortly after 6pm and despite the fact that they had my flight information on file my room was gone. The gentleman at the front desk was very accommodating when he tried to find me another room in the city but this was a very negative experience.

It was my first trip to Ottawa on business and it was a good location close to a number of good restaurants. The room was clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The gym room did not cost an extra fee and it was adequate. It was overall a good value.

It is at a quiet neighbourhood.
It is at a quiet neighbourhood. It is close to the eating place. Best is that it is near to a canal, it is good to get for a walk/run

Close to the action
The Holiday Inn Downtown Ottawa was literally just two blocks from the heart of the city's government district. The room was comfortable and clean, the staff friendly and helpful. And Ottawa is a great place to stay an extra day to visit after business is done.

Nice stay
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The only glitch came with needing a room for 3 adults. We were checked into a room with a king sized bed and an easy chair. We were relocated to a queen suite (at no extra charge) but it was smoking room. However, the room was lovely and did not smell of smoke at all. I would definately stay at this hotel again.
