Travelodge Ottawa Downtown

First impression was the hotel needed some refurbishment. However, cleanliness was good and the friendliness and attention from staff couldn't be beaten. The continental breakfast was excellent plus. We would definitely use this hotel again. The purpose of our trip was to visit an old friend in a Nursing Home and the bus outside the hotel took us right there. Overall we were delighted with our stay and couldn't have had better value for our money. Canadians are so friendly and helpful.

Good location. A modest but nice hotel.

The front staff was very friendly and accomodating. I was surprised with the size of the place. I was anticipating a hotel but instead an inn with no elevator or pool (found out I booked the wrong Travelodge). but overall it was a pleasant experience and a great walking distance to attractions.

Room with 2 Queen Beds was large and spacious. . Bathroom is very clean Bus service accross the street and within walking distance of Parliament Buildings and shopping centre. Charming entrance and front sitting area. Excellent continental breakfast. Staff was very helpful and courteous. All in all a great stay.

Close to the downtown and War Museum as stated. We were able to walk to most of the things we wanted to do. Parking was not totally on site. They wanted the keys to move the car every time someone wanted their car from the lane way. Had to get up everyday by 7:00 AM to move car off main street being on vacation this was unfortunate. The heater was noisy and either over heated the room or too cold when off. First room offered had a moth ball smell to it, so we took a 1 bed room but we're paying for 2 bed room.We had never booked this way before and realized we couldn't cancel so we made do with what we had picked through the internet.

We were in the area for a XC ski race. Simple accommodations at a good price. Staff went out of their way to feed us an early breakfast before morning race. They recommended several restaurants within a block or 2; excellent food & very convenient. Nice sitting area with free internet use and daily newspapers.

This hotel was chosen for me. Being a local coming back to visit, I would never have chosen this place. It was a very small room, very crammed. Stayed 2 nights, my room didn't get cleaned in the morning. I didn't spend too much time here though, just came back to sleep, it worked for me, value hotel in downtown and it made my flight cheaper in this case.

adequate - but did not realise no lifts and no ramps in to building for suitcase

This is an old home that has been converted to a motel. Creaking of the floors s common as is a slant to them. As advertised, parking is free but it is very cramped and you are required to leave your keys at the desk so your car be shifted to allow otherws in or out. However, management takes no responsibility for missing objects even while they are holding the keys. The wifi connection in my room failed to work and I used the two computers in the lobby. Both keyboards are worn out. The breakfast is not scrumptious - it is good standard fare.
