Location was great as we were taking the train to Hearst the next day. Room was very very clean and the bed very comfortable. Hotel needs updating otherwise... Would I stay there again, yes under the same circumstances.

Aging facilities but still ok for the $
We were there to 'check out' Sault College. There are many hotels closer to the college but we didn't know that when we booked - still it was only a short drive away. The weight room is pretty sad, pool was ok, stale smoke smell in the halls/rooms, furniture and bedding is just getting old and worn looking but people are friendly, the continental breakfast is actually really good and they keep it really clean. Front desk staff are good too. No line-ups anywhere, that was nice.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Location is perfect for the arena - also mall across the street too. Sault Ste. Marie is pretty easy to get around in anyway but this hotel is very convenient for the old downtown area.

Days Inn - Sault Ste. Marie, Canada
We stayed at the Days Inn at Canadian Soo as we were going skiing at Searchmont. The lobby smelled of must, and we noticed that the floors were very dirty. Our room was small, but OK, however, it was on the streetside across from the mall and railroad station. It was very noisy all night long, and we weren't told about that upon checking in. The pool was disgusting. There were ants crawling around the tile floors which had missing and broken pieces; the bottom of the pool was painted blue and was flaking off. The scum line around the perimeter was calcified and people had actually scratched their names on it! The pool water was not clean, and that it didn't smell like chlorine or any chemical made it suspect. The rinse-off showers in the pool area had loose temperature gauge markers, which made them dangerous to use. The restaurant downstairs was filthy; it doesn't look like the carpet had ever been cleaned. The second night the alarm clock in the (empty) room next door went off at 5am, it appeared the departing party may have set it deliberately as a prank. Regardless, housekeeping did not check and adjust to the typical 7am. We were awakened by the incessant beep beep beep of the alarm. I dialed "0" for the lobby from our room phone and it was not answered, even after 3 attempts. I actually had to trot down there in my pajamas and read the night clerk the riot act. He was down there there the whole time and did not answer my calls! Upon checkout the next day, the clerk did not ask how my stay was. Well, I am glad for the opportunity to state how my stay was now. AVOID this Days Inn like the plague! It is old, tired, dirty, noisy and OVERPRICED! THE PICTURES ON ITS WEBSITE ARE FROM A LONG TIME AGO!

Just so so
In serious need of updating. Beds were uncomfortable, pillows were ridiculous---like a bag of cotton balls. Breakfast OK---but they could at least put tablecloths on the tables. Was very convenient for taking the tour train--right across the street. Restaurants within walking distance.

Old in some ways beat up. Attempts to up date but needs more work. Close to mall, train etc. Rooms are well maintained and clean but hotel is tired. Bar is yucky.

good location
Liked the hotel and staff was friendly. But if getting across the International bridge was any easier I would have stayed in Michigan. Similar motels were about $40 less per night on the states sides.
