Expert hospitality and high style in heart of financial district
The Metropolitan Hotel Toronto's sleek design is a perfect match for the vibrant urban landscape of the financial district it inhabits. There's a lot going on, with business centers, theaters, galleries, museums, restaurants and boutiques nearby. But while the thrum of the streets is fast-paced and exciting, guests find a refuge of tranquility inside the hotel. After a day of meetings, shopping or sightseeing, relax with friends and colleagues at one of the hotel's award-winning restaurants. Or soak in an in-suite whirlpool tub and order dinner in.
Highlights
  • Complimentary downtown limousine service
  • In-suite whirlpool tubs
  • Award-winning on-site Lai Wah Heen Restaurant
Rooms
Find stylish, contemporary decor, European linens, operable windows and business-friendly amenities in all guest rooms and suites at the Metropolitan Hotel Toronto. Some suites also have large marble bathrooms with whirlpool tubs and plush bathrobes. Executive suites feature a fax machine, laser printer, stereo with CD player, and a walk-in closet, in addition to all the standard amenities. Wi-Fi Internet access is available throughout the hotel (fees apply).
Features
The staff at the Metropolitan Hotel understands what it takes to make a business trip successful, from providing high-tech amenities to complimentary limousine service. Leisure travelers, too, will appreciate the stylish ambience of the hotel and the proximity to some of Toronto's most exciting tourist attractions. The state-of-the-art fitness center and heated indoor pool are great for burning off energy. Both on-site restaurants are award-winning regional stars, but they offer entirely unique menus. In fact, local critics say that Lai Wah Heen serves the best dim sum in North America.

Hotel isn't good

My husband and I booked last minute, the hotel looks horrid from the outside, but on the inside it's esstetically pleasing, room needed to be dusted and obvious things need to be wiped like light switch and walls in bath tub, staff very nice but I probably wouldn't return only for the simple fact it just wasn't clean enough

Worst Doubletree except location

I stayed in Doubletree hilton in Toronto for a day and I was shocked. The lady on the front desk was extremely rude. There were dirty towels in my room and I had to call them and change and I also realized that sheet of the bed was dirty also.. Rudeness, and dirtyness was unfortunately part of the hotel. You will pay too much for this low quality hotel

Very comfortable

Although the hotel is non-smoking, the first room they gave us had a strong tobacco smell. We immediately called the front desk and they sent someone right away and guided us to a different room which was spotless. We really enjoyed the bed - it was so far the most comfortable experience. Overall the hotel was nice and clean.

Excellent value!

We were in Toronto for a conference at the convention center. Everything about this hotel was excellent. The staff, the room, the amenities...and God love the Chocolate Chip Cookies - the trademark of Doubletree. Great stay in a great location. Steve & Jean, Manchester, NH

Memorial Day Weekend Getaway

My room was on the fifteenth floor with a nice view of Downtown Toronto. It was clean and comfortable. The maid service was excellent and thorough. The location was great (with easy access to subway, streetcar and bus in addition to being near the new city hall, restaurants and other interesting sights.) and the desk staff was friendly and helpful. I did not use the pool, but did use the treadmill, weights, bench and workout machine daily. The locker room and showers well maintained (plenty of towels) and clean. The garage is built into the lower levels of the hotel and can be narrow on some floors, but there are plenty of mirrors to see approaching traffic, and other drivers were careful. Overall it was a pleasant experience at a reasonable cost.
