worst hotel over

do not stay here. we arrived to a freezing cold room. am thankful they allowed us to get a refund but only for the 2nd and 3rd night. completely unacceptable conditions. room was dirty with candy wrappers and snacks everywhere. it was so noisy we could not sleep. we would have been better off sleeping in a car.

Econo Lodge & Suites is close to shopping

I went to Toronto to be a tourist in mid Sept because my brother came to Canada for the first time. I showed him the basic places that a typical tourist would go, such as CN Tower, Eaton Centre, China Town, etc. I can't say I'm frugal. Let's just say I'm economically conscious. The cab fare from Greyhound terminal to this hotel is about $7 or so (can't remember). Basically the hotel is very close to Eaton Centre and all the cool stuff in Toronto downtown. The room is clean. The bathroom is clean and well-equipped. The breakfast is reasonably continental. The only thing that is not so great is the noise from the traffic. My room was on the second floor facing the intersection of Jarvis and Gerrard. I remember hearing some loud cars or buses passing by our windows, but it was not noisy all the time. I had a good night of sleep (or maybe I was just tired?)

...Eh

Gross room, tiny, dirty, noisy, view of the garbage cans, insane cleaning staff, dark, old. Good water pressure. Location was walking distance from where I needed to go, but only barely.

This hotel has BEDBUGS!! Beware...

This hotel has bedbugs!! Need I say more? Beware... I was bitten badly by bedbugs at this hotel, and smashed one on the bed that had just sucked my blood.. I was disgusted. I checked out immediately and made a complaint to the staff at the desk (since the manager was not there at around 5am in the morning when I checked out). I expected to get a call back later in the day from the management at least apologizing for what happened to me and the trauma, but even two days later, nothing. They just made the rest of my trip unpleasant for me.... When I finally called the hotel two days later and spoke to the manager, I was being told nonsense... there was no empathy, no sincere apology. Bottomline - "If you want to get bitten by bedbugs, you know where to go?"

Terrible Experience

The trip started out well enough. We went to the hotel to check in and I was greeted by a staff person that didn't acknowledge me when I was standing right in front of her at the desk. After getting her attention and letting her know that I wanted to check in she continued fumbling around. I put that aside, went to my room and went out for the night with the other individual that was staying with me. The next morning I went down to get breakfast and the milk was warm as was the orange juice, terrible breakfast for the price of the room. Finally, upon checkout, the staff member argued with me, didn't offer a receipt and insisted that there would be no further charges. Upon checking my balance of my checking account I had noticed that the hotel charged me an additional $90 for no apparent reason and overdrafted my account in the process. This hotel singlehandedly ruined my trip to Toronto. Thanks!
