Located in the heart Of Yorkville, Torontos Fashionable Shopping, Dining And Entertainment district, Close to University of Toronto and ROM and near Business District. Ideal for the business and leisure traveler, being in close proximity of some of the finest attractions. The hotel is three kilometers from Casa Loma, University of Toronto and ROM. Other attractions within a comfortable driving distance include CN Tower, Skydome and Metro Zoo. Public transportation is a block away from the hotel, providing quick and easy access to many areas around the city. At the Howard Johnson Hotel Toronto Yorkville, we believe that high service standards are unquestionably the rule, and partnerships are forever. Effort and time is devoted to constantly improving service. Guests will appreciate the outstanding hospitality experience at the hands of the professional and dedicated staff. Terrible experience

Dirty rooms, vagrants in the lobby, unfriendly desk staff..... I visit Toronto frequently, and this was my worst hotel experience in all the years I've been traveling there.

Unbeatable location for the price

Very convenient. Close to things we wanted to do. Bare-bones amenities but very reasonably priced for that neighborhood. Free wi-fi and coffee 24/7 were a plus.

Travel arrangements

I traveled to Toronto due to hospitalization of family member.[...] was aware of my travel purpose and they said that the Howard Johnson was the closest to the hospital for the price I paid. [...] would not tell me how much I was paying per night. I would have stayed at the Chelse Hotel because it was much cheaper due to family hospitalzation (they give a discount for that) and I could have walked to the hospitalization rather than pay expensive taxi transportation from the hotel to Toronto General Hospital. In addition, it is a much nicer hotel.

Just ok...

The room was old and outdated. It look like the 80's. Old tv and no ventilation fan in the bathroom. Not trying to be gross, but there was a white liquid substance dried on the head board. Sorry but it needed to be said. The hotel is in a decent location and it's in the city where you can walk everywhere.

good location

The hotel location is very good. The hotel itself is a bit grim. There are marks on the walls. However, the staff are very nice and helpful.

Feh.

This place was just o.k. Room was big and staff somewhat helpful. The truth is everything was great with one real exception - the breakfast was god awful. If you stay here it's worth going next door to the Whole Foods.

cheap option in the heart of the city

just stayed for a night. Location is excellent, and the neighborhood quite lively. Price is almost unbeatable, but this comes together with some cons : old-fashioned equipment in the room (and very noisy heater), sheets with stains.

ok for value and well located

Awsome surrounding, 5 minutes walk to nearest metro station. Maybe a bit old but confortable bedroom. Nice staff would provide good advice for dining around.
