Nice Getaway Week-end
We spent a Saturday-Monday at this property. Our arrival was enhanced by the complimentary and courteous valet parking. All encounters with staff were positive, they were friendly, helpful and eager to please. We ate at the buffet for one meal, a great experience. It had a lot of variety, freshness and food that would satisfy even a picky appetite. It was a bit pricier than we would normally pay for such a place, but as there was prime rib on the menu that night, it wasn't so bad. Great room, though it was kind of cold and the bathroom could have used a heat lamp. Comfy bed, nice ameneties. If you can break away from the casino, the Windsor area has lots of great places to dine. Try the Little Italy neighborhood on Erie street, just a short drive from Caesar's.

Ceasar Vegas would be ashamed
As a frequent visitor my total rewards membership gave me a couple free nights. I chose the premium room option with a guaranteed view of the Detroit river. I got a view of Windsor neighborhoods and the roof of the building. The room was clean and the housekeeping staff did a good job cleaning and restocking the room and that was the only good part of the trip, oops the valet was good too. The casino is non smoking and for us smokers that is not great but I can get by for a few hours and they do have a smoking area outdoors on both floors. Unfortunately they are a little stingy about heating them and cleaning them. The first night we went to the buffet, which is only passable food. Fried chicken is normally good (I used to go there often but got tired of the border crossing) but this time is was overcooked and dried out. Meat selection is all filler type food. Salad bar was fresh enough and had a good variety. Soup bar just OK. Like I said everything was passable but nothing to rave about and since there are so few restuarants you think they would try harder. The second night we had burgers Artist Cafe which although we couldn't get them cooked medium (is there something wrong with Canadian beef?) they were tasty but a little dry. Prices are reasonable for a casino hotel. Now to the bad parts. The gambling stinks. I prefer slots (except in Vegas) and they just don't pay. I've never lost money on every machine I played and I've been gambling for 30 years. Dollar Machines - nothing, Quarter machines-nothing. I even played some of the penny and nickel machines and after 40 or 50 dollars I'd give up. Guess I should play tables but it just doesn't have the right atmosphere. No excitement at the tables--maybe nobody wins on those either. The worst part of the trip was my massage at the spa and I use that term loosely. They call it a spa, I call it a salon. They advertised saunas, steam rooms, whirlpool and massages as well as salon services. Well my first clue should have been when I stopped in before my massage appt. to look at the facilities and there wasn't a soul in there. The gym and pool are on one side, spa on the other but they are not connected. The gym equipment looked new and there was enough variety but I didn't want to work out. The pool is small, boring and indoors and there was a whirlpool at the end of the pool. Inside the "spa" there are pedicure chairs, nail stations and hair stations. No shower, no sauna, no whirlpools. I would have cancelled but I would have had to pay anyway so I figured why not,, how bad could it be? Waste of money. You undress in the room where you're getting a massage which means no shower or sauna first then I got the worst 50 minute swedish massage of my life. I got a foot rub and a back rub. They wipe you off with warm towels after so you can dress,, again no sauna or shower. I was shocked to pay $118 for that. Granted I pay close to $200 in Vegas but you get a good massage and you are in a spa with amenities. I can get a back rub or foot massage anytime. I would say don't waste your time or money going to Ceasars Windsor. If you can't do the real thing in Vegas just give your money to charity.

This is our second trip this year and we requested the Augustus Tower. What a relaxing view! Accomodating help, clean quiet rooms and a variety of dining options make this a great getaway destination. The Duty Free shops help too.

Fabulous one night stay!
The Hotel Staff is terrific, the offer of Free Valet Parking plus Free Internet is a wonderful plus to a great Hotel Stay. The rooms are immaculate, large, well appointed and I was fortunate to receive a room with a nice view of the river and city of Detroit across the river. Bathroom was large with both a tub and separate shower. All in all a perfect stay offered at a great rate from Orbitz. Absolutely the best place to stay in Windsor if the price is right.

"The Cook's Table" 30+years in business, locally owned, outstanding pasta and desserts. Steaks are pretty good too! A little far to walk - but on a nice night it could be done. Worth the trip!
