We stayed at Hotel le Crystal based on other reviews, and it was definitely worth it. The suit was very nice, and was surprisingly well laid out.
The hotel was within walking distance of everything. Vieux-Monteal (Old Montreal) was a little farther of a walk if you are in a hurry, but the cab rides back and forth were $7-9, so either way is fine.
It's also close to nice (if pricey/touristy) restaurants and shopping in Downtown.
The hotel is even within walking distance to Mont Royal, the mountain park designed by the same designer of NYC's Central Park.
Aside from location, the staff was great. They were all very helpful (especially if you don't speak good French).
We also highly recommend the spa -- very nice.

Le Westin was so new that it didn't appear in our guidebook published in 2011. Indeed it felt like a soft opening, in that things felt a bit unfinished.
There was nothing overtly lacking. Our room was comfortable and spacious (we upgraded to the deluxe). There was complimentary wi-fi, multiple outlets at the desk for the digitally inclined, and an alarm clock dockable with your iPhone.
The food was tasty and showcased local flavors. The house cocktails were inventive, and having fancy trail mix and cheese plate options for bar snacks had us munching away.
No doubt, the service was friendly, attentive. Everyone from the desk staff to the valet to the maid seemed genuinely interested in making our stay a comfortable one.
It was just every now and then, there were little holes in the ambiance. A lobby corner could have used a flower arrangement. A wall was begging for art. The late night room service menu could have used some hot food options.
Location was great in the heart of Old Montreal. We were blocks from Notre Dame and the Old Port. Downtown shopping and the gay district were 15 minute walks each.

I got a brilliant deal on [...]which meant that for the price this was an excellent hotel. I had a huge room with two double beds. The decor was nice but nothing special and the room overlooked another part of the hotel. the shower was nice enough. I thought the breakfast was expensive if you weren't going to have a full buffet breakfast - there are cafes nearby which offer bagels etc at a quarter of the price.there was a pool and gym which i didnt have time to use, although they seemed popular.All in all though, a nice hotel with friendly staff and excellent value if you get a good deal.

This was my second visit. I want a central location and a reasonable hotel, and it delivers on both counts. We walked to all our restaurants and night life, and also to Vieux Montreal and Chinatown. Close to a metro stop, too. Quiet room.

Close to airport, not the greatest area for entertainment though (very industrial). Rooms were surprisingly large with comfortable king-size bed, fridge, microwave and flat screen tv

I ttook a while for the shuttle to arrive. The shuttle is share with Econo Lodge so it is longer before arriving to the hotel.
It looked I was disturbing the front desk agent not really friendly.
The room was big and clean.

The hotel is a bit outdated, which made the feel a bit uncomfortable. The location was perfect. In walking distance from everything I wanted to see. Staff was very nice. Food was just okay. I would not recommend eating at the hotel but get out and try the restos! Bed was not very comfortable. It was nice that I had a computer in the room.

For the price, this is a great recommendation. No frills. But good location, nice room, all necessary amenities including WiFi, good breakfast, very adequate clean bathroom. Close to downtown, bus terminal and Metro. We would stay again.

This is a nice hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. We had to leave a day early due to sleet and freezing rain across northern New England. We would appreciate a refund of one night's lodging.

The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. For English only speakers the staff immediatley switch from French to English. There is no elevator, but the request for a room on the first floor was no problem. The room was small but quite adequate and comfortable. This was a good value.

We got snowed in at home and could not make it the first night of our two night stay. Called Orbitz and they got the hotel to reimburse us fully for that first night, even though the room was non-reimbursable. Thank you Orbitz. You'll get all our travel business from here on.

This was a quick trip and are very familiar with the area and this filled the need. The room was roomy and adequate. Our complaint was with the internet access. We needed it for business. We had trouble getting on resulting in the techie calling us. We got on and then kept getting knocked off which made the stay unpleasant. They said the tech dept would look into the problem. We hope they do. Otherwise no complaints - good price, good location, pleasant staff.

A minus inconvenience with the room heater but they gave us a very nice upgrade with no extra charges.
The parking is a bit expensive but doable, would be great if it was included.
We traveled with our dog. No issues about it.

Very clean rooms, comfortable beds. Nice to have a fridge in the room that we could store a few snacks in. Great location and best of all an outdoor heated pool that is open year round!

Le Meridien Versailles is conveniently located just outside of the heart of downtown Montreal - just minutes walk from bars, dining, museum of art, and other attractions. My room was clean and spacious, but other people traveling with me had a different room which they described as small and cramped - so apparently standard rooms can vary considerably. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, the room wasn't any place I'd want to spend a significant amount of time in (other than sleeping), but the price with the location made this a very good place to stay and somewhere I would stay again.

If you're looking for shopping, you will like this location. Just 5 min from shopping street. If you are looking to go to old city, be careful. It is around 40 min walk. Hotel looks good. For old city I think you can try different hotel. If you don't care walk 40 min, this hotel be good choice. Nice staff. Hotel is clean. $25 for hotel parking or $15 for public parking just 2 blocks from hotel.

Our mini vacation at Chateau Versailles Montreal

We loved every minute of it. The arrival and departure points were up and above our expectations. The Staff was very eficient and fast. Things were always done very rapidly and in a pleasant way. The breakfast was delightful and the atmosphere in the Salon where we ate was extremely relaxing. Again the service was impeccable. Our room was big enought for what we needed. Clean and organized. Very easy access to Internet-apprreciated. The only little hick was the bed (I did upgrate for a Queen size when I booked and only got a regular size bed) But, we didn't even bring it up with the Hotel Staff - Everything else was so accomadating that we left things as is. Overall we enjoyed our stay enormously-location was near to anything and everything. Will defenitely book this Hotel in the futur.

I went to the hotel for NYE and found it well located, clean and had good amenities. The only drawback is the foyer lobby. It is not ideal for going up and down many times.

I have stayed at the Hyatt Regency Montreal twice (in 2010 and 2011). It is very centrally located, across the street from the Place des Arts, and above a mall that connects to the Underground City. It is ideal for the Montreal Jazz Festival. Facilities are only so-so, but I didn't need much because of the location. Overall, I was very happy with the choice.

I stayed for two nights at Le Nouvel. I drove to Montreal from NJ and the hotel was very easy to get to from the highway. It's also located a short walk to a Metro station and close to Saint-Catherine Street, which has great shopping and places to eat. The room itself is quite large, as is the bathroom, which had Neutrogena products. There is also a safe in the room. The hotel has underground parking for $15.00 per day. I didn't have any interaction with the staff other than check-in and check-out and both went very smoothly. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Très bon accueil par le personnel toujours prêt à nous renseigner.
emplacement de l'hôtel très pratique par rapport à la rue Ste Catherine et par rapport à l'aéroport (ticket de bus à 8 $ + métro + bus pour 24 h génial).
dommage que le restaurant soit fermé pendant les fêtes de fin d'année pour les repas.
j'y retournerai bien avec plaisir.

The Junior Suite which was our choice of room it was very comfortable and very clean. The only down side was the room had no refrigerator...Walking distance to nice shops, stores, restaurants and night life. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly definitely planning to visit Montreal again..

It is a good choice with a few mentions:
1) the hotel shares the building with a college (la salle) and so the rooms are located floors 10-18. If you are claustrofobic, beware, you have to climb stairs. It is actually not too bad!
2) they charge parking fees of 21$/day
Other than that the double beds are kinda small, but doable. The room is big and clean with big bathroom and small kitchenette that can be helpful. the morning buffet is 11$ and is good.
Very close to highway (720). For me I would say walking distance from everything ...if walking 20-25 minutes doesn't scare you.

The staff was the most helpful ever experienced. They became like family after a couple of days. The hotel is perfectly situated for access to Old Montreal and to shopping on St. Catherine Street and the bus and subway stops. The view from the rooftop swimming pool and deck was world class. The rooms are oversized and all have kitchenettes. Very accomodating!

Kitchen handy, No parking, DIRTY Carpets

Location is tres bien, easy to walk to all downtown locations, close to the Place d'arts to see evening festivals. Close to conferences in Place du Canada. Kitchen is nice, we at in mostly in evening with food from markets and grocery store two short blocks east. Parking is not available. There are a FEW to rent in the building underground and you can use the hotels across the street for parking. Be prepared to pay 20$/day for parking. THERE IS NO FREE PARKING AROUND DOWNTOWN MONTREAL. HOTEL STAFF WILL TELL YOU JUST TO AVOID SIGNS WITH RED NUMBERS (FOR RESIDENTS WITH THOSE PARKING STICKERS) AS IF THERE ARE MAYBE SPOTS THAT DO NOT HAVE THIS. BUT THERE IS NO FREE PARKING. That is ok, I already knew about that reality. The Carpets in this hotel are FILLLLTHY. Too bad, I would stay there again if I thought they might clean them. We went to soak up a spill of bottled water and the towel became dark yellow and brown from the water with no effort. Kept shoes on all the time after that. Free breakfast is ok. Good room for families. Kitchen clean, bathrooms clean, beds were firm and very nice for rest. Dr M. a Quebecer in Michigan.

I bring my son to Montreal, to see my family, every year. Normally I stay at the Le Centre Sheraton Montreal. This year I decided we should stay longer so I opted for a suite here, less $$, than the Sheraton. It worked out perfectly.
The staff was very friendly, though I'm not an overly needy traveler, therefore I didn't ask them for much. Everyone I came across spoke English, so that's a plus as I understand more than I can speak of French! The bed was comfortable & clean, as were the rooms. Mont Royal is a short walk away, you have to go here for the breathtaking view! There are so many things to do, the metro is easy to maneuver, so you'll have access to everything. You can also find cheap food, being near McGill University!

Easy to find location on a one-way street, convient parking in basement but a bit expensive +$20/day, quick reception routines, free guest dinner drinks and free next day breakfast, very clean and modern room, great service overall. Room service quality of food needs to be improved though. Overall we would go again. Great location in 'old' Montreal and 3 blocks from great shopping on St Catherine St.

There's no pool. (an indoor one would have been wonderful) Also, though Embassy Suites often provide shuttle service to and from the airport, none was available in Montreal. Travel by taxi was $38.00 each way. Parking (if you rent a car or drive)is also quite expensive On the plus side, breakfast was included everyday, though the selections never varied, and every evening there was a manager's cocktail party from 5:30 to 7 PM. The drinks were good; the bar nibbles included salsa, chips, veggies and dip and pretzels. The location of the hotel was excellent, two blocks from Chinatown, Notre Dame Cathedral, and a reasonable walking distance to Vieux Montreal. Subway was close by as was bus transportation.

The location was perfect, we could get around most places in downtown and old Montreal. The hotel is reasonably priced for the access it provides - however, parking is extra - so be prepared.
The only thing I found was that the house keeping did not feel it necessary to replace used stuff such as coffee grinds and toilet paper !!
The staff was fantastic and highly helpful. The concierge was par excellence.
All in all, I will highly recommend this place for travelers that want to be in the middle of everything (music, museum, tourist attractions, old city) and not have to drive long distances to get there......
I did not give it five stars because I was expecting a room in the higher floors but they gave me a room in the fourth floor (well, OK, they had the jazz festival going on and they were pretty booked, but I was expecting an upgrade !!).

This is a wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of the city. The location is ideal, if you have business meetings along Rene-Levesque Blvd, a short walk from the hotel. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel including the hotel's restaurant, a convienent place to enjoy an excellent dinner.

The hotel was clean and comfortable but it is no 5 star. But a good price and location, I would book again because of the decent price, right next to saint catherine street and the restaurant in the hotel was actually pretty good.
