Marriott Grand Cayman Beach Resort

I had a great time at the Cayman Marriott. The staff was very friendly. My only complaints are: 1. food at the pool was very pricey (moreso than the usual crazy prices for food at a resort pool); 2. There wasn't a lot of seating around the pool.

We were a little nervous when we arrived as there was a convention at the hotel. Were were given a nice, quiet room on the fifth floor. W/ 3 elevators it wasn't a problem coming and going. The room was spacious, clean and well supplied. From the front door to housekeeping, the staff was courteous, friendly and attentive. There is an activities desk as well as car rental and internet service in the lobby. The food was much better than we expected for a chain hotel. Highest mark to the Kitchen/Dining room staff. We were always made to feel welcome and the service was top rate. The beach was crowded, but on 7-mile-beach you just walk a few steps to an uncrowded one! We usually rent a apt. or condo, but the price of the Marriot beat everyone. Only beef... paint the outside a different color.

This was our second family vacation at the Marriott Grand Cayman Beach Resort and our visit was as enjoyable this time as it was five years ago. The rooms are comfortable, the staff is courteous and helpful, the on-site restaurants are good (perhaps a little pricey, but pretty much everything is on the island), even the snorkeling right off the beach is good -- overall, a very good value for a relaxing island getaway. Some things to keep in mind -- the beach is a little small, so if you're planning a day of being a bum in the sun, you'll want to stake your beach chair early. Also, a definite for the "to do" list should be a trip out to String Ray City -- just an awesome experience cavorting with these graceful, gentle creatures. Additionally, there are plenty of restaurants all along West Bay Road -- many within walking distance of the hotel. My children were teens the first time we visited and are young adults now, so our activities and preferences may not be appropriate for families with young children, but it does appear the hotel has special features and activities for the smaller set. And the turtle farm will appeal to everyone.

This was an awesome stay at the hotel. What can I say it was breathtaking! I my only complaint was that the bed in the room was pretty uncomfortable and made me have a sore back every morning. Other than that the stay was quite lovely! I would recommend to anyone!

From the moment we arrived (and received rum cake and fresh fruit juice) to the moment we checked out, we were treated very well by the staff. Our room was great - clean, smelled good, quiet at night. The Marriott's beach was super nice, and was welcoming for both couples (like us) and families. The food and drink service on the beach was also a nice touch. Walkable to Camana Bay, Kirk Supermarket, various restaurants, and a short bus ride (5 mins) or a walk of 45 mins to George Town. We will definitely stay here again.

You need to be aware that the beach at this hotel is very small and can be crowded when the hotel is full or when you can't use the beach. We experienced the "green tide" when the kelp takes over the beach & surf after a storm. It took the hotel staff 2 days to remove the kelp from the beach; had management brought in larger equipment the first day, then it would have been one day of inconvenience. You can't control Mother Nature but you can do a better job at dealing with her aftermath.

Everything in Grand Cayman's seemed overpriced. The Marriott was a good price for the island and very nice. The restaurants were expensive but very good. Also there were places within walking distance with more reasonable prices. Not bad.

I took my sister here last week for a week's break. I have stayed at Marriott's before, but have NEVER had such a wonderful customer experience as I did at this resort. My sister echoes these sentiments. The staff completely overwhelmed us with their willingness to do anything they could to make our experience one we would never forget. The food, generally, was excellent....great gazpacho and wonderful breakfasts!

Lovely hotel with fine amenities. Gorgeous beach and pool.

The Marriott Grand Cayman is at a perfect location on Seven Mile Beach. The resort is comfortable and the staff is friendly. The kids enjoyed snorkeling at the beach.
