The Ritz spared no expense in developing its reputation as the best property on the island, from its stellar beachfront location, to a Greg Norman-designed golf course or full-service Silver Rain Spa, to dinner at Blue, the signature restaurant from Eric Ripert of New York's Le Bernardin fame.

Good, but not as expected
A very nice hotel. But for the cost, you would expect that. Staff were responsive when asked, but you would first have to seek them out to engage. Have been to other hotels with a much more congenial atmosphere. Beachfront was way too crowded as they set up chaise lounges too packed in like sardines, though the canvas covers were a plus. Saw chaise lounges sit vacant for hours because someone or one of the attendants placed a towel or book to reserve (3 up front on beach were reserved without use until after 2pm with this system, which denied others use of the beachfront view.. hotel should address this issue ! We have stayed at other Ritz and in comparison this site fell short of expectations (thus a 4 vs 5). GC is a nice island for a getaway, but so are others in the Carribean region. Poolside bar restaurant staff were very friendly and great service (cudo;s there)..

Excellent but not worth the price
Ritz is by far the best property in the island in terms of luxury and comfort, however it is very expensive and you don't get your money's worth. If you are very rich and practically have an unlimited budget, then Ritz is the place for you. The food is great, rooms are very nice, staff is super polite. However, since I am not related to Trump, I measure experiences in terms of quality/price ratio. Ritz may be top quality but it probably has one the worst ratios. Why? Here are few reasons: - the shower in the room wasn’t working properly and they couldn’t fix it (the temperature was going up and down which made taking a shower very uncomfortable# - the jacuzzi at the SPA was broken for 2 consecutive days - there were trash bags waiting on the hall ways to be picked up producing bad smell Again, all of these would be minor problems not even worth mentioning if you are staying in another property, but if you are paying close to $800 for 2 people per night, you expect everything to be perfect. You also expect at least the breakfast to be included. Unfortunately, Ritz charges $40 per person for breakfast buffet #which is also not that impressive by the way#. Bottom line: If you are very price insensitive and would like to experience luxury #and of course say “I stayed at the Ritz” to your friends), then I highly recommend it. Otherwise, stay at one of the nearby properties for one third of the price.

Couple Getaway
Just got back. Everything was 5 Star. Beach was amazing. Staff and hotel bent over backwards to accomodate you. Would highly recommend this hotel, especially in September. We had the resort to ourselves. If you are a diver, you must sign up with Living the Dream. Liz and Gary were wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed my diving with them.

beautiful beach and location
We went to the island to relax and snorkel. The beach is gorgeous with wonderful lounge chairs and cabanas. The snorkeling is ok just behind the hotel, but close by is Eden rock, a world-class place to snorkel...just a couple miles down the road. Can spend the day there and not break the bank. The rooms were lovely but could be a bit more comfortable.great trip!
