We had a great time at the Capitel Hotel Beijing. We ate at the place downstairs and it was pretty good, though a bit pricey compared to what else is available. The pool falicities were nice, though we spent most of our time out of hotel anyways, so we did not take advantage of most of the ammentieis.

As the other high ratings suggest, this is a fine hotel and very well priced for what you get. We did not experience any issues with bugs (see another recent review). The rooms are large, the beds hard (I guess typical for China), and the location wonderful. The subway station is a short walk (< 10 minutes). Taxis are widely available, cheap, and the doorman can help you communicate with the drivers if you do not speak Cantonese.
The kitchen in the room exceeded our exception. Microwave, stove, dishes, water boiler, refrigerator, etc.
I agree with other reviewers that it's best to ask for a room on an upper floor and toward the back of the hotel. We stayed on the 15th floor and noise was not much of an issue. You can drown out the traffic below with the A/C fan.
Convenient shopping nearby - grocery stores, foreign language bookshops, malls, etc.

My second time staying at this hotel and it was a pleasure yet again. The only down side is that even though I had reserved two standard rooms with king size beds they told me that there were no kings left. Was able to negotiate to get one of the rooms moved up to the superior room with king bed but the other one stayed as twin beds. Aside from this issue the stay was remarkable.

good connection for public transport; at the junction of two metro lines (2, 5). Hotel staff is always very helpful with the translation of adresses and other stuff. A lot of different Restaurants and one small grocery within the hotel (at little bit overpriced compared to outside restaurants IMO).
The standard rooms are quite small and furnished in a rather decent way; however they look quite clean.
The breakfast offers a wide variety of different food stuff (western style; no chinese food). For my taste a little bit too american, but tasty. Make sure that you dont arrive at peak times during breakfast (around 7:30/8 am) during tourist season (september/oktober) since you have to wait a little while (5-10 minutes) for a free desk.

Clean, great location. English-speaking ability was more limited than I expected, but not enough to be a major barrier (be sure to come equipped with necessary paperwork - written English was proficient). Hotel restaurant food was VERY expensive and concierge is not extremely helpful in finding other restaurants...be prepared to explore unless you don't mind the expense. Business center is also expensive to use (pay for internet and pay over $1 USD per page printed). Also, the comfort of the beds would present a major drawback for someone with back problems.

This is a "boutique" hotel in that number of rooms are not large and rooms themselves are quite small. Furniture is minimal but overall effect is really cozy and modern.
Location couldn't be better...both Tianamen Square and The Forbidden City are within walking distance - about 10 minutes away and there is a large shopping district also about 10 minutes away by foot where you can buy all the brands.
My only wish was that the restaurant featured more dishes, but there is a Days Cafe across the street that offers both China and Western Cuisine for a very reasonable cost.

Perfect for true experience of Beijing

Located in the middle of one of Beijing's Hutongs, Zhongan Hotel is perfect if you are looking to get a true feel for the city.
If you are looking for the traditional higher end type of stay this is not the place for you. The hotel is older BUT very clean. I had a single room which was on the smaller side (8' x 12'). Very comfortable bed, TV, high-speed internet, AC/Heat, and bathroom with standup shower.
The staff were all very friendly. Some spoke/understood English a little better than others, but never had much issue with conveying what I needed.
I only had breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Very delicious and reasonably priced. It does say traditional Chinese and Western fare on the buffet however boiled eggs and toast were all the Western available. However, I can get that at home!!! The Chinese food was wonderful!
If you do not specifically need your own computer while traveling, I highly recommend renting one from the hotel. It was very very inexpensive.
Last recommendation would be to get exact directions for yourself or taxi before arriving. The alleys of the hutongs can be tricky at first visit. If you are thinking of taking the subway, it is an easy 4/5 minutes from the closest stop.
The hotel is located adjacent to the Beijing Railway station. Was not too noisy but would hear train whistles/horns throughout the night, but not horrible.
The Forbidden City & Temple of Heaven were both about a 30 - 40 minute walk from the hotel. Maybe a little quicker; I kept stopping to take pictures!
Plenty of shopping and food in the general area of the hotel. Lots of yummy street food :)
So if your goal is to have a comfortable,restful and affordable place to stay while exploring Beijing, Zhongan is it.

初めて行くにはちょっと勇気がいるかもしれません。中国に慣れている人であれば問題なくたどり着けると思いますが、そうでない方は昼間に行ってみるほうが安心です。しかし、危ないという意味ではありません。
胡同ですので、若干分かりにくいだけで、それ以外は大丈夫です。
部屋はちょうど北京駅が見える部屋で、新幹線や普通列車がひっきりなしに
動いています。窓は2重になっていますので、音はほとんど漏れません。
売店は小さいですが、必要なものはそろっています。
セイフティBOXは奥に通されます？小さいのですが、問題ありませんでした。
最終日にタクシーを予約（朝5時）したのですが、ちゃんと来ていました。
ちなみに私は英語も中国語もほとんど話せませんので、それでも不安は
ありませんでした。
また利用したいと思います。

The strongest point of this hotel is that it is a 10 minute walk from the gates of Forbidden City. I don't think there are many other hotels this close.
The staff are friendly and the restaurant is good with a mix of Asian and Western cuisine. Sometimes it seems the staff has little experience, i.e. they set the table but forget the utensils. Some of the staff speak very good English, so no worries there.
From a Western viewpoint, the room was average and nothing to write home about. Maybe from a Chinese perspective it is better. Order the deluxe room; at least it will be above ground.
Bring your own shaving stuff or you will have to buy what is in the room.
The bed was fine.
I would have preferred wireless internet. The hotel supplies a LAN cable and the wall jack works once you figure out which jack to use. The other jack is for something else but it isn't clearly marked.
Overall, I'd gladly stay there again. No regrets

Wer gerne sparen möchte und auch einige Nachteile dafür in Kauf nimmt bei dieser Lage, ist genau richtig bei diesem Hotel. Der Service ist eher mau, das Personal spricht wenig Englisch und nicht immer kooperativ. Wir buchten zwei Doppelzimmer, was alles Einwandfrei geklappt hat, jedoch nicht völlig zufriedenstellend war. So hatte ein Zimmer eine Toilette direkt gegenüber der Wand und bedurfte ein Rübersteigen, sowie grosses Beinespreizen damit man mit den Knien nicht an der Wand anschlägt. Das zweite Zimmer war gut ausgestattet, hatte jedoch direkt eine Werbetafel VOR dem Fenster und nur kleine Lichtlöcher dadurch. Somit dunkel und eher unangenehm, Zimmer 1 schaute auf eine Mauer die 2m weiter weg war. Ein Wechseln des Zimmers wurde immer wieder neu vertröstet bis man und gar nicht mehr beachtete. Ebenso gab es keine zweite ZImmerkarte. Die Wände sind sehr dünn und dadurch hört man auch noch das Geplappere drei Türen weiter. Jedoch für den Preis eine akzeptable Leistung, da manche Jugendherberge mit schlechterer Lage und Ausstattung teurer ist!

Overall, it's very good value for your money. Room was clean and with basic amenities, except there was no internet connection. Location is not bad. Metro is like a 10-15 minutes walk. Customer service was good. The staff were friendly to keep my luggage till late evening for my airport departure.

I was very surprised the room and everything were in the best tradition of a good hotel anywhere in the west. I thourghly enjoyed my stay. If I ever travel to Beijing I would definately book this hotel again. everything I wanted to see was a very short taxi ride away and back.

Industry And Commercial Hotel is a 3 star business hotel which is located in the center city of Beijing, walk distance to go to the Imperial Palace, Wangfujing Street, Tian'anmen Square, etc, and near from many other tourist spots. In the hotel, there are totally 68 guest rooms, containing standard rooms, deluxe suites, and so on. Living in the guest room, you could enjoy high speed internet access which charged CNY30.00 per day. Modern facilities include TV set, IDD, DDD, mini bar, well decorated bathroom with luxury bathtub, and so on. In order to meet business demand, the hotel has conference rooms and business center, with advanced video and audio equipment. It's a good idea to come to the Chinese restaurant, where mainly supplies An'hui cuisine, the banquet and 10 private boxes could hold 100 persons at the same time. Recreation center make you enjoy sauna, massage, pedicure, etc.

Location is everything!

This hotel is practically located at the center of everything you want to see in Beijing, located right in the Wangfujing Ave. Subway station is just two minutes away which connects to a web of attractions. The Forbidden City and the vicinity are all within walking distance. Wangfujing food and shopping area is just around the corner.
Now the not-so-good stuff: room is smaller than expected, bed is firm, but again all beds in China are practically the same. Rest room is reasonably clean but the carpet is stained and old. Did not use the hotel restaurant because there are too many selections just outside the hotel.

途中で部屋を変えてもらいました。
隣の部屋も同様でした。
変更後の部屋は問題ありませんでした。
それ以外はフロントの対応も良く、良いホテルだと思います。

Der Service und die Sauberkeit haben sich im Vergleich zu 2009 eindeutig verbessert.
Wer ein Hotel sucht, welches die nötigsten Dinge bietet (Bett, Dusche) und gleichzeitig gute Verkehrsanbindungen sucht (Metro mit 2 Linien in 50 m Entfernung; Tian´Anmen Platz, Verbotene Stadt zu Fuß zu erreichen) ist hier genau richtig.

Hotel is located in Xuanwu District, a cultural district of Beijing, nearby the west second ring road in Beijing, besides of the Guanganmen Wai Street and north of the China Telefilm Center, easy access to International Media Street and Financial Street. Within 15 minutes by taxi to Beijing West Railway Station, about 50 minutes by Taxi to Capital Airport. The nearest department store is within walking distance. And the Tea Street is not far from the hotel.

executive floor not worth the money

when you pay quiet more money to get executive floor and vip lounge you expect some special. but food etc. is absolutely not worth the extra money. so next i will for sure choose novotel but leave out the buisness floor.
