5 Stars at a Great Price
I had a totally comfortable stay at the Swissotel. The staff was completely friendly and helpful with problems such as my electric adapter throwing the breaker and cutting off the power in my room (this was quickly resolved!). My one complaint is that free wifi is only available in the lobby; other than that I had to pay to use the ethernet cable in my room. The in-house restaurants and amenities are fairly expensive, but there are also loads of places to find food in the surrounding area. I was personally on a tight budget, so I very much appreciated 5 Star treatment for the price of just a motel back in the states!!

Swiisotel Beijing
Hotel becoming a bit worn at the edges and outdated. Better tourist hotel than business hotel. Ethernet internet connection in room did not work. Wireless signal in hotel a little weak as well.

great location and lovely staff
Very good hotel the staff are very helpful. The subway is outside the hotel front entrance so perfect location for touring the city. The staff will print directions of every where you want to go.There is a 7-11 store next to the hotel.

stock up on water, snacks and evening meals at the 7-11 store rather than using the mini bar.

This hotel is perfectly located including access to the subway
We liked our choice. The restaurant is smart and well managed but a bit pricy, but many eating places nearby. After exploring Beijing all day, we were too tired to enjoy the pool and spa facilities. Oh well, next time!

Do not waste time to go to the 'clothing market' you find marked on the hotel map! Take the subway to the Forbidden City, go after 1pm when you do not have a crowd.

Great value
The best parts of the hotel are its low price (high $80's per night for us), its location (next to easy-to-use subway which leads to significant city sites) and its general level of comfort (quiet and clean). The main areas for improvement are concierge (seemingly unable to take initiative or creatively solve minor problems which is crucial with a language barrier; be prepared to give them exceptionally detailed instructions if you'd like them to do something basic) and finding a taxi (the hotel seems unable to "call" for one and you have to wait in line for one to arrive to drop someone off - the driveway is long so cabs don't swing by; we eventually just walked out to hail one, which was still challenging)

Dining tip:
Long walk from hotel
Sunlitan is a fun area about 15 minutes away which has bars and restaurants and is moderately more westernized for a fun night out.

Great Location!
In Beijing, it is paramont that a hotel be near a metro line because of heavy traffic. This hotel is in a great location right outside of the Metro #2 Line. It is also easy to catch a taxi as it is near the center. The amenities of the hotel are okay. It is bit of worn here and there. But given the rate I got, I'd say it was the best value anywhere in Beijing for a 4* hotel. I would stay in this hotel again if the rate remains as attrative as it was.

Very Convenient to the City
The location is wonderful. I could find the location very easily, and since it was in the middle of the city, I was able to get around quickly and easily. It is next to a major subway station, so finding my way around was not difficult. The hotel is a bit older, but well kept. Overall, it was very good.

Excellent Value for $
All went well except for the bed. It was like sleeping on he floor. But the staff did everything they could to accommodate by providing additional blankets and pillows.

Pleased but not overly excited
Nice place, clean, nice room but the air conditioning in the room didn't work very well. We ate at the restaurant in the lobby and had drinks at their lounge and it was outrageously expensive. Don't do it! The lunch buffet for two adults with no drinks was $80! A beer at the lounge was $6! A block down the road we had dinner for 2 for only $10 and 4 beers for $6! The location is good though with a subway stop just outside the hotel doors.
