Reasonably Priced Hotel near the Lake

The location is great--an easy walk from West Lake. It was worth buying breakfast, so we didn't waste time finding a place to eat. The staff is friendly, but "turn left and then right" may mean make 3 left turns! Let the hotel summon a taxi if you wish to get to a museum or a particular restaurant.
There is a very nice, slightly expensive Japanese Restaurant with a fixed price menu ($20 or $25 each person) that has a great cod dinner. It is North of the hotel (on a very busy street) past a lot of expensive car dealerships.

This was a fine small Chinese hotel with excellent if somewhat small rooms. The beds were very comfortable but my wife and I love the very firm Chinese hotel beds. The location was very good. a two minute walk to the park around West Lake, and a 10 minute walk to the lake shore. The stay was a very good value. Staff spoke minimal English, but this did not create a problem. The Brazilian barbeque restaurant connected to hotel is very good and a good value too.

標4星的酒店，大堂實在是太小，位置說離火車站和西湖近，其實都挺遠的，不是在大馬路上，周圍實在不繁華，餐廳啊超市啊門口都沒有，打車也不方便原價400多人民幣的豪華大床房實在是太貴，還好有30的coupon 早餐很豐富，東西也不錯。房間還可以，滿乾淨，不過不如其他的4星際酒店，應該和holiday inn expresss差不多吧

a nice hotel located in town just 40mins from the airport, its clustered with a lot of other hotels but i can't tell you if they are any better. rooms are a little bit old fashioned but still good. they offered a free upgrade cos they ran out of king bedrooms and i didn't even have to badger them for it. breakfast is on the 19th floor with nice views of the city but with only 2 lifts serving the whole building, a little patience is required during rush hours and at night when they have functions. there's a night market round the back of the building along wu shan street, its open every night and sells all sorts of things and some food, worth a wander. its also about a 20min walk to dong po road which is just next to the west lake.

The hotel provided everything necessary for my stay in Hangzhou. A great breakfast buffet. Wonderful treatment from the hotel employees. I would recommend this hotel to others for the following reasons. It was provided us with comfort at a really good price, it was very clean and the staff are very polite and helpful. I had a very plesant stay at the Holiday Inn in Hangzhou in June 2011.
The room was clean and the staff were very helpfull and could speak english, which isn't alawys the case in China!
The king size bed was extremly comfortable and gave you the choice of either choosing the soft side of the bed or the hard, so it will fit most people's preferences.
I highly recomment staying at the Holiday Inn in Hangzhou, it is a very comfortable hotel at a very fair price.

We booked this hotel because it looked somewhat close to Hangzhou. We were very disappointed to find that it's actually quite far from it (about a 100 CYN cab ride each way). However, if you are not looking to travel around Hangzhou, then this hotel is a great price. Very clean, modern, and the staff is friendly.

Wouldn't it be situated in some god-forsaken place (7km to the nearest touristic attractions), with virtually no communication and impossible-to-get taxi - this could be a very recommendable place.

A bit in the middle of nowhere, but many bus lines going to the lake or nearby. Takes about 45 mins.
Continental breakfast available but very simple with limited choice.
Rooms are very good (spacious, clean, well equipped) with free Internet access.
I recommand it despite the excentered location.

Good location at a busy street, about 10 minutes walk to West Lake. There is an office selling train tickets nearby, which is convenient for those who wish to pre-purchase train tickets to Shanghai. However, the security of this hotel needs to be improved. We found some "business cards" (for hookers) being slotted into our room through the door. And also a logistic worker wondering outside the room to deliver tickets to some residents. This is really bad!

大體上算不錯的住宿品質，只是飯店的位置有些偏遠，但不過因為如此，才擁有美好的寧靜環境(行走至公交站及自行車站沿途風景很美)，很推薦給大家~

Unless you want to be in the middle of tea country with little accessibility by taxi and bus then its perhaps better to book elsewhere east of West Lake. We were advised to take a bus into the city but the buses and cabs were too unreliable.
The facilities and service is good, but it more or less resembles more of a travel lodge/hostel than a hotel.
