A beautiful hotel on a very busy street
The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are very spacious. Everything was very clean and, in fact, the rooms looked like they'd been recently renovated... everything except the shower in the bathroom which was the only thing that didn't look like it was straight from a store showroom. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel felt very safe with a guard on watch at the front gate, who controlled the gate. The breakfast the next morning was really good with lots of choices of fresh fruit and cheese and breads, cereal... there was a lot to choose from and everything looked very fresh. The pool was very nice - very clean, and the water was pretty warm. Internet WiFi didn't work in our room (and it wasn't user error :) ), but it should have (I could see the signal) but I was too shy to mention it to the staff and it worked fine in the lobby and up by the pool so that was good enough. The location of the hotel is along a very busy street, and although there wasn't a lot of street noise, it was a little intimidating pulling out onto the street and walking was a challenge (the sidewalks abruptly ended... but it is San Jose and that's not too unusual...) Overall, we were very very pleased by the hotel, and we had a great stay and I would recommend it to anyone... although I thought the hotel was a bit pricey for the area and if you don't need a super big apartment, there are cheaper places that are almost as nice.

A nice surprise in San José
A wonderful place for holidays or business. The rooms are big and equipped with stove and cooktop, a wonderful detail for vegetarians like me that like to cook their own food. The overall atmosphere was quiet, secure and business like even though there were many tourist and kids/teenagers. The stuff was impeccable and friendly and made me feel like a king. Do not skip the delicious breakfast buffet!

Great family stay!!
The hotel was beyond our expectations in comfort, cleanliness and security. The rooms were incredibly big and modern. The staff was amazing. I would like to rate this hotel from 1 to 10, an 11!! The continental breakfast was very fresh and was also served very professional. You can also purchase other breakfast items for a charge. Very convenient and inexpensive. Most definitely will stay again! and will recommend to anyone!! thanks

Good price/quality relation
Good. Nice staff, all included in the fare (taxes, shuttle, breakfast, internet) Bad. Some problems with Internet, a lot of noise of the street enters the rooms.

Very Big Rooms Its like a home!
Hotel was nice, very large rooms, close to everything. They have contracted to have all kinds of food delivered if you want. My only complaint was pillows were very hard.

Great business trip
I stayed at the Aparthotel-Villas Del Rio in San Jose, Costa Rica for a few days and the location was very convenient to everything. The staff was friendly and courteous and the room was immaculate. A little short on bathroom counter space but all in all a very good value. I would stay there again.

Spacious, Comfortable Suites
The staff was wonderful, especially Eunice. She even took time to call me about tours when she was at home and not working. She definitely went above and beyond. It would be nice if it had a restaurant of some sort and it was very loud, but I think everywhere is loud, so no big deal. The suite was very spacious and comfortable.

Great Hotel
I was thrilled. This place was so much better than any upgraded suite at any hotel in the states. It had a real kitchen w/ large stainless steel fridge / freezer, oven, microwave, stove, dishes, utensils, pots, a measuring cup, tea kettle, coffee machine, etc. Not that you'd be cooking there, but it was a truly livable space. It felt like I was subletting someone's apartment in a really nice condo. There was a semi separate living room w/ futon couch, 2 bathrooms, then the Queen sized bedroom w/ a door for added privacy just in case there was a 3rd guest. My wife and I loved it. The layout and decorations are on point, efficient use of space, loved the wood trim. The pics don't do it justice. The surrounding neighborhood of Escazu is really exclusive with high end condo complexes, all in large walled enclosures w/ 24 hour guards at the gates. The hotel has the same setup, hence security is assured, but I did not see any vagrancy or suspicious activity on my evening walks. There a a few plaza's in short walking distance, but you'd probably need to get a cab to go to the nearby Multiplaza Shopping mall or the Central Downtown area, each ride should run you a little less than 6000 colones. The free Hotel's breakfast was not typical so you will not get Gallo Pinto there, but it's still great, most notably for the Paris-Grade Croissants that they serve, papaya and pineapple, assorted cheeses, and great smooth Costa Rican coffee. The staff was very friendly and helpful, I tip my hat to receptionists Eunice and Yantzee, the rec'd taxi drivers were great too. The in-room WiFi worked after the tech helped me with it. The pool, jacuzzi and gym looked great but I never used them. We used the hotel mostly as a central hub from which we went on various tours. The only reason I gave the 4 as opposed to a 5 is because it would have been ideally situated if in short walking distance from the MultiPlaza. Overall, this hotel was great and if in Costa Rica again, this will be my 1st choice.

Dining tip:
Long walk from hotel
Inka Grill - about 5 blocks from the hotel on the same side of the street if you make a left while exiting the gate. It's Peruvian Cuisine, rather pricey, but nice decor, good food. I'd rate it a 8/10. Try their Papas Rellenos, a really nice, compact potato cake filled w/ steak which was pretty tasty.

Excellent Hotel.
Our staying at this hotel was fantastic, customer service excellent, breakfast very rich. The only one suggestion we've is if they can change the bed (at least in room 112).
