try & walk along the coast line from the Cactus Hotel to Larnaca centre, it's not that far!

Basic, clean hotel near airport
stayed one night after long flight, needed clean basic hotel near airport. Hotel was fine, checkin easy. A/c was weak but minimally sufficient. Great seafood restaurant nearby withing 5 minutes walk to beach...good suggestions from very friendly, hospitable hotel owner.

Seafood restaurent, Zypyros, was an easy walk from hotel and served great grilled squid, octopus and fish.

cheap and cheerful
Hotel is well overdue a complete makeover, we only stayed 2 nights to visit Larnaca to sample bars and restaurants there so it suited our needs but would not like to stay there any longer or again.

Pretty big hike from the centre
Pretty big hike from the centre of Larnaka and the surrounding area is a ghetto that is dark and uninviting at night. As with the rest of Cyprus public transport is non-existant at the best of times so a car is recommended. Triple room just fitted 3 beds and no more. Bathroom was vile, toilet rarely worked and the shower was hellish(water went everywhere). Breakfast very lacking, not worth bothering with unless you are satisfied with toast, cold boiled eggs, ham and cheese. Staff were very pleasant. Very affordable overall for the stay but definately wouldn't recommend staying longer than a couple of nights!
