Cold Winter Weekend in Prague
About a 10 min walk from the metro, and dead center of the historical city, this hotel was the perfect location. It's situated on an island (but you'd never know without looking at a map) along the river banks, right by the Charles bridge. It's a super quiet location, but only 1 or 2 min walk to get onto the bridge and be in the center of it all. We also chose this hotel because it's in a historic building and the pictures online seemed charming. Upon arrival, we joked about it being a cross between cozy, historic hotel and American chain hotel.... the blowdryer, the shampoo packets, etc.

Location, Location, Location!
We visited Prague for 6 nights (Oct 7-13, 2010). We chose the Archibald at the Charles Bridge for its excellent location and pleasant looking rooms. The hotel is located in a small quiet square just off the Charles Bridge in Mala Strana. From the front door of the hotel, we were on the Charles Bridge within 2 minutes - we could walk to either the Prague Castle or to Old Town Square in 15 minutes. There were several small cafes lining the Kampa Square by the hotel and several excellent restaurants within easy walking distance (including the well-known Kampa Park Restaurant with riverfont dining. Our hotel room was ready when we arrived at noontime. The room was large, bright, and spotless. We had a king-size bed(two twins put together)and a full bathroom (with tub/shower). Our room also had a private patio which looked out over the Vlatva River and a patio restaurant run by the hotel. Breakfast each morning (in a separate breakfast room) was a full hot and cold buffet. Eggs, bacon, sausage, cheeses, fruits, yogurt, and a variety of breads, pastries, and cereals. The hotel also has an adjacent cellar restaurant which was very charming and had wonderful food (with a 10% discount for hotel guests). The front desk staff was extremely helpful whenever we had a question or needed information. They provided us with helpful train information for a trip we took to Karlstejn one day. They even called the castle at Karlstejn to set up a tour for us. The front desk always had a smile and a greeting when we would pass through the lobby. This is a small hotel and would be appropriate for those who enjoy staying at inns and B & B's. It is charming, quaint, clean, and quiet.

Short walk from hotel
The Archibald at the Charles Hotel's cellar restaurant is excellent and a great choice for lunch or dinner. For an exceptional riverfront dining experience go to Kampa Park restaurant which is right around the corner from the hotel.

Brilliant location, comfortable hotel
The location was perfect - in the heart of Prague but at the quieter end of the Charles Bridge. The historic building has been renovated very recently and our room was spacious and had a view of the river. Service was very good. There was a good breakfast buffet. Value for money was exceptional.

One of the highlights of our trip was attending an excellent production of The Marriage of Figaro at the Estates Theatre - the theatre where Mozart conducted. Tickets were affordable and easily ordered online.
