Assenzio Hotel is situated just in the heart of Prague 2, in a privileged position along the road which leads to Wenceslao Square, the Natural History Museum and the Clock Tower, and a short distance from Charles Bridge and the Castle. The city's major attractions are situated within a short walking distance but guests will also have the possibility to reach the underground station, which is situated only 5 minutes far from the hotel, I.P. Pavlova. Triangle, compass and plumb line: these are the Masonic symbols which were used by expert architects to turn this imposing stately home into a luxury hotel. These are the origins of Assenzio Hotel in Prague: the careful restoration of this XIX-century palace was carried out by expert architects who were able to retain the original outer structure realized according to Prague's traditional architectural style. Some inner patterns - such as the travertine staircase, the stuccoes which embellish both the hall and the ground floor and the brick cellar - are the most representative landmarks of this outstanding combination of ancient and modern architectural elements. Utmost passion and professionalism contributed to turn this Neoclassical building into a wonderful four-star hotel.

Perfect escape from daily grind

We were looking to get away for 6 days (5 nights) from our work, bringing up the kids, etc. Someone had mentioned they enjoyed visiting Prague. We arrived at around 10:15am and bought a ticket for just over £1 each to get from the airport to our hotel by bus, tarm and metro - fabulous experience! We were warmly greeted at reception and could not beleive the room we were given - it was on 2 different levels with the lower level being a lounge with sofa-bed, wardrobe and excellent bathroom then upstairs to the king sized bed with another wardrobe. The reception staff then proceeded to tell us what was good to see and pointed everything out on the map for us - because we were there for 5 nights we could go to see many of the "Non-tourist" attractions and the staff were relly good with advice on everything. Also it was my wifes birthday whilst we were there and they orgnised a fabulous cake and some bubbly to be sent up to our room on the day! Breakfasts were included and the dining room only closed at 10:30am to set up for the next function - breakfasts were great and included all the continental options as well as bacon and eggs, etc. We had an excellent dinner one evening in the dining room which is in the cellar and it was superb. The public areas were looking a bit threadbare and the receptioist then mentioned that the hotel was due for a complete makeover shortly so it will be in-line with their sister hotels. We have stayed in some very plush and expensive hotels in our time but this one was by far our best stay yet. The City of Prague combined with the staff and feel of Hotel Assenzio made for afabulous holiday.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

Try to see the Fountain ballet at the "ViseViste" exhibition centre in the suburbs of Prague. Well worth the journey.

pleasant stay

We made a family trip and stayed in Hotel Assenzio Prague for three nights. We liked the hotel very much; our room was spacious and confortable and we found the decoration elegant and pleasant. The personal of hotel was very frendly and helpful. The only thing we didn´t like so much was the food at the restaurant. First of all, the breakfast buffet was the same everyday (which upset my husband more than me or the children) and second, we had dinner once and in our opinion, it was too expensive for the amount and quality of the dishes. Another "problem" we had was that the W-lan wasn´t working in our room. We got a cable but we couldn´t connect either. Anyway, we could use the internet at the lobby and connect to W-lan at the bar. All in all, it was a good experience and I would recommend the hotel to family and friends.
