Prague by the River and close to the old city square
This hotel was well situated, the staff were very professional, the room was fantastic, and the location was within 5-minutes walk to the downtown city square and other amenities. I would recommend it to other business or leisure travelers.

Abusive Drunken Barman
Nice Location! Not a bad room, but the air con didn't work probably, the towels had holes in them and the handle kept falling off the loo door! Good to have a free safe that was large enough to store a laptop! But no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, however you do get fast free Wi-Fi....that doesn't require a password. The staff were miserable though and we also encountered an extremely drunken barman, who was abusive and made rude suggestions to my girlfriend!! When we informed the receptionist of the situation, she didn't apologise, instead banishing us to our room!! We informed the manager the next day, who was oblivious to what had happened...but was apologetic and only offered us a free drink for our troubles. We demanded that the small charge for the mini bar and also any charges we had incurred be deducted, which it was...albeit slightly begrudgingly! Foodwise, we only experienced the breakfast buffet, which was nice...though bizarrely all the tables had dead flowers on them!?? In summary, a very average hotel, but in a great location...just don't expect 5 or even 4 star service! Enter at your peril....

good location
free wifi, free breakfast & good location, a good view maybe possible but ask for it! except the location, overall the hotel is over rated maybe 3+ can be fare... orbitz round trip from/to airport shuttle service worked best for me. hotel offered very high priced taxi service... their check-in procedure needs to be re-considered for its efficiency. the hotel's exchange rate was quite good, do not exchange at the square.. the hotel's restaurant can be a bit pricy compare to the other fancy places (the four season's allegro can be better off).

One of the Best
The Hotel is in a perfect location along the river with only a 5 minute walk to Old Town Square. I have stayed at a lot of hotels in Prague, but this might be the best one yet! Very nice, spacious rooms so you don't feed crammed (even if it just 2 people). Would highly recommend! Just have to ask for a non-smoking room if you want. Also, very nice terrace on top to see the castle!

Convenient and spacious
The hotel was walking distance from almost everything worth seeing in Prague. It was next door to the Intercontinental Hotel so it suffers some from that comparison. There was no easy way for a taxi to stop in front of the hotel without remaining in the road so our driver dropped us at the corner and we walked the half block to the front entrance. It is directly across a busy street from the river, but not noisy. Awkward getting into the lobby since there is a flight of stairs from the sidewalk to the front door. Once inside, the lobby is spacious with a restaurant and lounge accessible on either side of the front desk. There are no shops in the hotel, not even a sundry shop, so you could not pick up a newspaper or any incidentals while there. The rooms were spacious. We had a mini suite and had just come from a boutique hotel in Paris so it seemed quite roomy by comparison, for the price. However, the shower had a gasket falling off the door, the toilet tissue and tissues ran out within the first day. I would have expected a new roll of toilet tissue and fresh new box of tissues to begin our stay. The bed, sofa and drapes were well-worn. The furniture was ok, but had a sort of 70s feel to it. I would not classify this as a 5-star hotel although that's the way it's listed. Maybe 4-star, but I'm not sure what goes into the ratings. The breakfast buffet, included, was adequate. There was free internet service. It was comfortable, a reasonable value, but not memorable.

Long walk from hotel
There are relatively inexpensive classical music concerts at various cathedrals and synagogues in the area. By all means, pay the ~$20 (USD) and spend the hour before dinner listening to these performances around town. The musicians are world-class and the music runs the gamut from familiar Classical to Gershwin, to Showtunes, with strings and brass. A must-do in Prague.

One of the best I've been in for
One of the best I've been in for the sort of stay we wanted. It was near everything and excellent service. Had to upgrade to a non-smoking floor as our request for non-smoking was never received, but staff were very helpful about the matter.
