Great place to stay

Great value for a single traveller. Room large and really nicely decorated.room cleaned and towels changed every day, everything done to a very high standard.Lots of choice at breakfast not the 'full English' but a good meal to start your day.Reception staff helpful with directions, local transport and arranging tours. Local transport really cheap just 2 minutes to the tram and then you get get anywhere in the city with ease. Also hotel 5 minutes from the River and you can enjoy a really pleasant walk to the castle or old town. I will definitely return to this hotel and also recommend to friends. I had a fantastic time in Prague.

Caught taxi to hotel which I thought was expensive. Returning to the airport I travelled very easily by local transport using a 90 minute 32 kroner ticket. From hotel to airport less than an hour.

Last minute weekend break

Staff were extremely helpful on reception. Hotel doesn't look much from the outside but don't judge a book by it' s cover! Tram stop nearby into city very handy and trams very regular. Rooms were comfortable and clean, and nicely decorated. Our attic room had a jacuzzi bath and shower head attachment but no shower screen/curtain. Were very grateful for the air-con. Lift bolted onto back of building was novel!

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Venice River Cruise recommended which starts under the Charles Bridge and gives a good overview of sights from the river. Horse and Carriage tour from old town square a bit of a waste of money. Can recommend the Ice Bar for novelty factor. Definitely buy day passes or a three day pass which covers all public transport travel very reasonably.

First visit to Prague

I selected this hotel based on other reviews on Orbitz. Prauge is a much larger city than anticipated so the location was not as central as I originally expected but it was very easy to get to the center of town via tram. The rooms are beautiful. The jacuzzi listed in the hotel description is a jacuzzi-style tub. The description also lists a fitness center and room service however these do not exist at the hotel. The hotel will help you order a pizza to your room which is very nice. Overall the staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast at this hotel is also very delicious.

Lovely place in the New Town.

We spent four nights at the King Charles Boutique Residence. We were welcomed with a warming lemon liqueur which set the tone for the friendly and relaxed stay. Breakfast was included in our price and we made use of this once: fruit, bread, meats, cereals and fresh coffee. The room was warm with good heating (needed in December). It was nicely furnished with darkwood wardrobe and side tables. There was a safe provided for no additional cost. The bathroom was small but modern. Our shower was fitted with 'massage' settings and was usually lovely and hot. The staff were friendly and helpful and always happy to offer directions. The nearest tram stop is less than five minutes walk away and the nearest metro is about 10-15 minutes walk uphill. It's possible to walk into town along the riverbank which we did a coupld of times. This would only take approximately half an hour. We would happily stay here again but if you are less inclined to make the effort to explore out of the city centre it may not be for you.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

The local area is incredibly rich in history and is worth spending a couple of hours exploring. The river, a short walk away, is a local bonus.

"Great hotel in Prague for the price"

The King Charles Botique was an excellent hotel for the money! The location was descent...If you like walking it is great (20 minutes to the center). If you do not like to walk, then the tram service is an excellent option at a very affordable price at around $1.50 US dollar each way per person. Here is some brief description of the hotel: It is a hybrid bed and breakfast. The rooms are not huge, but no smaller than a Marriott. The bathrooms are tight, but spotless (no shower curtain, but this is standard in Prague). The breakfast was adequate and much like what you get at a Hampton Inn (up scale american continental breakfast. Their are no ammeneties to the hotel outside of the breakfast in the morning, but at the price you pay nobody should complain. TV is non existent...2 russian chanels and CNN and BBC Europe in english (no DVD or rentals available). Internet is available in the room at around $12 USA a day and has adequate speed...Their is an internet Cafe next door at around $3.50US per hour (going rate in Prague). Food Options: Their are about 7 restaurants within a 1/4 mile and another 10 within a half of mile...Good traditional Czech food, which is meat and potatoes. If you get a couple of blocks away from the center of the tourist attractions you are in great shape for cheaper prices with basically the same food. A half litre premium beer runs you about $1.50 US dollars (Gambrinus, Pilsner, Budweiser, Kolza). A nice size standard cheese pizza will run you about $6US. Desert's are great and usually around $3US. Side around under $2US. If you get their special of the night you can expect to pay around $7US at the most and you will get plenty of food. Bread is always an extra and is $1US per basket. Money and Exchange: Well what you read elsewhere is the same here. Be careful of the money exchanges...Most have two rates and is referred to under or over the limit, which is around a 30% different in currency exchange. If you elect to change then show how much you will be giving and ask them to show you on calculator how much you will get in Czech Crown. ATM or what they refer to as Bankomat is the best option...Bankomat is usually at a rate of 3% higher than what the changer's will get, which more than cover's the standard $2.50 Bankomat fee that is charged by most. Airport money exchange does not have limit's but is about 10% lower than the average money exchange without limits. The money exchanger's are known to be the worst to tourist and as it was explained to me, the worst money exchanger's in the world are located in Czech it is just their nature to rip off the tourist if they can...It happended to me (only got screwed out of $22US) even after the guy said he would give me "X", he gave me the reduced amount so best to avoid the exchanges with limits .(don't pay attention to the no commission sign, you need to focus on the sign's that say no limits!!!) Taxi's from Airport: Make sure you have enough Czech crown to cover the taxi if you do not have the Euro, because the driver's will discount what the going rate is by about 20 to 30%. Check with your hotel on what the rate should be and get that much at a minimum at airport. Airport exchange again is about 10% lower than the going market exchange price, but without limits so it is a fair option to get you into to town where you can get started with the ATM's machines for you Czech Crown's.

Cosy and stylish

Hotel was in a fantastic location! Away from the hustle and bustle of the main square (although still in walking distance) and very near to one of the old churches which had amazing views over the city and river. Our room was quiet, beautifully decorated, small but comfortable. Bathroom was great!! Their is a large choice for breakfast so suits everyone. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and mapped out everywhere that we wanted to visit so travelling around was easy. Will definitely book there again.

Nice room, good location

Near trams and not too far a walk from the center of town. Medium-size room, well-kept up. When the AC wasn't working on the hottest days of the year, they gave me a portable unit. Breakfast is ordinary.

Great price for a great hotel!

This hotel was perfect for our weekend getaway! The room was beautiful, clean, and the staff were incredibly helpful! Upon checking in we were greeted by the receptionist with a traditional Czech shot which was delicious! Then the receptionist explained on a map where we were and what trams to take where, VERY helpful! The hotel was a 30 minute walk to Old Town or a shorter tram ride (we choose to walk along the river). The only issue we had with the hotel was there was no real shower, just a bath with a removable head. Their breakfast was alright, but it was free none the less! All in all we had an amazing stay and WILL stay there again.

We did a city tour with Free Tours that the hotel recommended and was just based on tips. The tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable. He took us all around the city and showed us the main tour spots as well as shared history and fun facts about the places we were seeing. Later that same day we did a paid tour of the Prague castle for 10 euro. This was also amazing, again our tour guide was VERY knowledgeable and fun. Not only did she show us the castle but along the way she showed us a few churches, monasteries, and amazing views of the city.

Good quality hotel

We arrived at the hotel a couple of hours before check-in time, nevertheless the room was waiting for us. However, the entire check-in process took quite a long time. The room was located at second floor, overlooking the street at the railway line. However, thanks to double glazed windows there was little noise reaching us. The room was very well furnished with crystal chandeliers and a bathroom featuring a jacuzzi bathtub! Something extraordinary considering the price! Unfortunately, the interior of the closets could use some considerable dusting! The hotel was located a little bit outside of the centre but the Stare Mesto and Hradcany were easily accessible by tram. Overall, the hotel represents extraordinary value for money and good service although it is not exactly centrally located.
