Praga 1 Hotel Prague

Hotel was walking distance to major attractions, very clean, service was good and the price was right. Watch out for the taxi fees.

The hotel was very well located and only 5 minutes walking disatance from the main avenue. Rooms were very clean and the breakfast was very good. One thing that you should keep in mind is that Prague was communist until the early 1990 so do not expect service like in the US. English is spoken but I have found locals to have very limited english skills and therefore being very defensive when asking simple questions. Would not say that the people from Prague are the most friendly but again, theuir country was recently open to the West. Beside that, great monuments, clean city and failry safe (avoid squares at night which tend to be a place for drug dealers). Also the landscape change at night and the police is mainly located in the touristic avenues. Bring good walking shoes as there is no need to take cabs and/or their subway (called Mustek with only 3 lines). Took an expedition to the their main castle (35 km outside of Prague) and it was not worth it. Food was very good and I recommend eating at the "Triton" which is in a cave. Overall, a great city to visit and enjoy! Last but not leasdt, this is not a cheap city and expect to pay close to what you would pay in the US for a meal (Euro is not the main currency and you can change Euros or $ to crowns - exchange rate was $1 USD = 17 crowns or 1 Euroi = 25 crowns). Credit cards are accepted but if you want to include the tip on your credit card, it may generate additional/separate transaction (a $6 tip is a nice tip for restaurants regardless of the price - eg do not pay 15% of the total amount unless you want to).

Friendly staff, clean rooms and excellent location

Great location right off Charles Square, not far from any of the historic areas or sights. Staff spoke good English and were polite and helpful. The shower stall is very small, and the water pressure and temp were inconsistent. In-room wi-fi did not work most of the time, not until last 2 days of a 10-day stay, despite multiple complaints. Continental breakfast was good, but a bit boring. Decent value for the price tho. GREAT view from our 6th floor window!!!

The hotel room was very large. The bedding was very antiquated but functional. There was only a shower in my room. The In Room Safe had an old skeleton key (made me wonder how safe it was..) Very high ceilings, no TV in English ( though only one hotel I have stayed in while in Prague had it). Moderate noise from the hallway was the only major distraction I had at this hotel.

Excellent room, clean and roomy. Good advice on a nearby restaurant.

The hotel was a far walk from The Charles Bridge with a 4 year old, but the subway was fast and convenient.

Pick you up at airport. A clean hotel. It's located close to the Karlovo Mestro (Metro system). Enjoyed breakfast which was included. Staff friendly and helpful with directions. The shower is a bit tiny. Hotel located on a busy street, but in November, the traffic noise could not be heard.

The room was big and spacious. However, the hotel charged for every small thing - right from the teabag proivided with the kettle. Location was not that great, but good vlaue for money and near an underground station. Breakfast was good.

The details made what could have been a decent stay a bit regrettable. Internet was free, but sometimes unreliable. Breakfast was ok. Rooms clean and with good space, but the TV was very limited and I only had BBC World as an English-speaking station. Coffee service in room never refilled and only provided tea...no coffee. Location is great and if you are not high-maintenance then you can be happy here.
