Two tips for new visitors to the hostel:
1. Bring your own towel. You can buy it for around $10, but why?
2. Bring your own padlock. You can store your luggage in the room, but you need your own lock and key. Of course, you can buy it for $5 at the front desk.
3. You cannot bring outside food. You can bring in bread, fruits etc to your room, though.
There is a walking tour that starts at 10:30AM at the hostel. It is free and good. Take it!
Btw. bring your own soap and shampoo. (I generally use hotels -- so all this was new to me).

It's a perfect choice for just 10 bucks a day. Staffs were really kind and helpful, when I had a reservation I had slight doubt however it's proven unneeded. I'd go for another generator hostel located in somewhere else.

We loved our stay, and we recommend Hotel Fox to anyone who enjoys a relaxed and warm place to get back to at the end of the day. And another thought: if you're scared to get a room you're not fond of because of their policy (you can't book a specific room), just e-mail them about it and say which rooms you really don't want, and your 3 or 4 favorites.
Be flexible and nice and you'll get it back :)

Hôtel très bien situé, en plein centre ville : bonne literie et très peu de bruit. Surtout ne pas consommer au bar de l'hôtel, c'est excessivement cher.... Bon séjour au Danemark!!

Within an easy walk from the Copenhagen Central Train Station, the Hotel Ascot is a good deal. I was traveling with my two adult daughters. The hotel lobby is very attractive, but room we had was spare - little furniture or decorations or charm. However, it was extremely comfortable. Bedding for two in one room, for one in the other, plus a long shelf-like desk, made the room work well. And while our room faced the street, it was very quiet at night.
The large Danish breakfast, with lots of choices, was another major asset.
We would recommend it; it was very convenient and comfortable, but visitors should be warned that the rooms themselves are rather ordinary, less charming than you might want in a country where so much is beautiful.

Great hotel in a fantastic location. To really enjoy, however, check the city's festival calendar! During our stay in a balcony room overlooking City Hall Square, there was a festival with huge crowds and window-rattling techno music with speakers directed at the hotel. Two pieces of good news: the city shuts down music at 11 pm and, when the festival left town, we enjoyed the view and balcony to the fullest.

Great value -- no charges at check-out out when I was expecting to pay for the local calls and WIFI use for 4 days. Breakfast was included and provided a healthy and nourishing start for each day. Efficient, polite staff all around.
Location is convenient if you're coming in from the airport by train. And from the Central Station, you have access to anywhere in Europe.

It is very well suited to travellers who do not require a central location, as the quality is better than most hotels of a similar standard in central Copenhagen. It is also ideally located for access to the airport. This hotel is totally non- smoking in all rooms. (01/07 LC) The hotel is a low set very modern property of a design similar to that of the 1960's. The hotel is located perfectly for access to the airport which is a short taxi ride away. It is only a short train journey from the centre of the city.

Hard to beat for a hotel near the airport in Copenhagen

I stayed here overnight on Jan 19. Hotels in Copenhagen are very expensive and this was was a steal. It's also a really decent hotel, with the full sized bed, and excellent restaurant. The restaurant is a bit expensive, especially compared to the price of the room, but the food was excellent. The location of this place couldn't be better, it's literally a 10 min walk from the airport. Also, there's a hotel shuttle up until 10:30 pm.

Since our flight left very early in the morning, the hotel's close proximity to the Kastrup Airport couldn't have been better. The only negative aspect of our stay at the hotel was that they charged approximately $5.00 for a disposable tooth brush. Most hotels I have stayed at provide such a necessary item free of charge.

Enjoyed my stay at the hotel. A number of attractions within short walking distance including museums and Tivoli Gardens. Rooms are small but why are you spending time in the room, get out and see the city.

Close to the train station and to Tivoli Garden. Room was slightly on the small side (although not tiny!) but the staff was always friendly and helpful and both the breakfast and the evening buffets were generous. I'd stay there again!

We came to Copenhagen on vacation. The hotel was in a perfect location, across from the central train station, Tivoli Gardens and the tourist center. In spite of the central location, it was a very pleasant area to walk. Our hotel room was very clean and everything worked perfectly. At first we were slightly put off by the design of the hotel, Danish Modern. However, it grew on us and by the time we checked out, we agreed this was a good selection for us. The hotel was very quiet and the concierge was helpful. There was some outside noise in the morning rush hour but not excessive.

Small room which includes everything. It reminds me of IKEA design, but everything is rather new and functioning. Tiny shower. Internet available at the lobby. Elevator works fine. 15 minutes walk from the main railway station. They are very good value for money in a country that is not cheap. I arrived late (23:30), and had to go to another Cabinn hotel to pick up the entry card. It was fine, the other place is 5 minutes away.

This hotel is nice and neat. The only drawback was the elevator was out of order. We had to carry our luggyes from ground floor to 3rd floor. The receptionist was very helpful and informative.

The staff members helped figure out trips. Computer use was helpful. It was a very pretty hotel and courtyard. [...] We settled for 2 singles and after the first move because of noise, the bed was one queen. Then we moved again and in that room the air conditioner didn't work. Good location.I thought it was expensive

This was certainly a great buy for the money. The location was close to the Harbor, shopping, the metro and within walking distance to many sites in Copenhagen. The breakfast buffet was abundant and the dining area was quite lovely. I was a little surprised by the small rooms but they were very clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to tour the city on a budget.

Little for the money

This hotel was way over priced for what we got. My bathroom was as big as the room, but it was clean and sufficed for our stay overnight.
We got in at 9:30 a.m. and the room was not ready for us but they were able to lock up our luggage and we were only 10 minutes from downtown so we walked all over Copenhagen and saw much of the city which was very fun.
The hotel is on a very charming street and our view was wonderful. We watched fireworks from our window and listened to the rain on the cobblestone street below.
The shower curtain wrapped around the entire bathroom but it was a private bath so that was what we asked for.
The Murphy Bed (I call it a Trundle Bed) was hard to get in and my husband pinched his finger pretty badly doing it, so I would suggest leaving that chore for housekeeping.

We had a great time in Copenhagen and the Hotel was more than adequate, would suit bexecutive business travel down to a tee.

Stay on the Executive Floor at Copenhage

Stayed on the Executive Level(11th floor)which meant(previously unbeknowned to me) that we were included in the executive meals, snacks, desserts, alcohol(and all drink beverages offered) throughout my stay in Copenhagen(3.5 days), provided at no extra charge. This served to defray considerable costs as this is a most expensive city/country. Room was beautiful, of course, overlooking the river and Christianhaven( I believe). Room service and amenities were "top drawyer,"[...]The only drawback to the Marriott is the check-in time which is 4pm. We arrived at noon. Most hotels allow one in to a room at least by 2pm! Therefore, I will not give this hotel the top rating due to this. I do have to say, that we were given the key to that Executive room with all of the amenities I have earlier described and would have been most comfortable, well fed and well drunk by 4PM but I did not fully comprehend this being the "peasant" that I am, and never took advantage of this. If someone reading this has the opportunity to stay on the 11th floor and is offered the executive key to the executive club, please do not make the mistake of remaining in the main hotel lobby while waiting for your room to be readied!!! Great hotel, great location to walk to Tivoli, Christainhavn, to all pertinant areas to get tour busses to Sweden tour, Hamlet Castle tours, etc. and not that far from the Airport

This hotel was recommended by Danish friends of our daughter. Its location is in a nice area of the city and just a 5-10 minute walk to the major downtown area. It is actually four old hotels merged together and renovated. The original room we reserved was very small and this was hard to tell from the pictures on the website. We were able to upgrade to a larger room(jr suite) which was more comparable in size to a usual American sized hotel room. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and there were several restaurants associated with the hotel which were very good. We would definitely stay here again.

I stayed two nights at the Kong Arthur hotel while on business - very well situated near the train/metro station and easy to reach from the airport by both; I was able to get out for a walk around the lakes between meetings; good in room internet access, nice room overall, and friendly staff. I would stay there again.

And as a place to stay for a few nights, was great. Charming in its appearance, the room was just the right size for me. Two blocks from the S train, one stop to the Metro - very convenient to get to/from the airport and to the Bella Center, which is where my event was held. Would stay there again!

Noisy but tolerable as long as you have windows closed. Housekeeping should probably check the bathroom supply for multi-day stay guests.

The DGI was very nice. The staff was pleasant and the rooms were comfortable. The towel warming rack was awesome. The breakfast was wonderful. The location was just a few blocks from the train station, but in a rough neighborhood. If you stayed on the main street all was well. But you can have that in any large city. As for the hotel, I would stay there again, very clean and a pleastant staff.

Hotel is one block from the front of the Central Station - turn back in the direction the train came in from if you are coming from the airport. We unfortunately left the back of the station and had to walk down several blocks of cobblestone streets to find the hotel. The staff did provide us with a ferry brochure but directions were brief and incomplete. We did have a map so found our way ok on our own. They also loaned us a converter plug for our laptop. The room was small and there were 2 very small half bathrooms: one with small sink and toilet and the other was a tiled shower room with sink and a shower curtain to block water from ruining the door. The hotel was clean was probably very elegant in its time but could use a facelift.

The hotel is at the heart of the city, next to the central train station and next to Tivoli. The breakfast is good, however the room is small and the bathroom is even smaller.

The walk in to the city center is a cold, windy experience in the winter.
Not a comforting feeling to have drunk personnel on new years eve... I was thinking... what if something happens...? these guys are taking responsibility under for example a fire...? I think not...
Good rooms. Nice view. The shuttlebus is a good idea.

I came to Copenhagen to find an apartment. I ended up staying at the Tivoli Hotel longer than i thought. i could have stayed in a hostel, but after a few days, i couldnt leave. to comfortable

Very central location with walking distance to many attractions e.g. Tivoli and Ströget. The room aiming to the main street was disturbed by the trains opposite the street. Very small but comfortable double room. Basic breakfest, no surprises, except the huge size of the "Danish pastry - "Wienerbröd"

Great hotel, inconvenient location

Nice apartment. Accommodations were great with king bed, hair dryer, kitchenette with dishes, pot & pans, glassware and diswasher. Very clean.
Although the desk clerk tried, we could not get ice from the restaurant that seemed to be part of the apartment complex.
Turned out that it was not walking distance to the town sights nor the port from which we were leaving.
Next time we would probably stay on Nyhaven or at least closer to it.

Really nice hotel - in the dockland area of Copehagen, so there are great walks from the hotel to the quai and to the city. Good to have coooking facilities as Copenhagen is expensive.

Good location a few blocks from train station. Great breakfast, nice small lobby bar. Rooms away from the room are very quiet, with good room darkening curtains. Main complaint was room cleanliness which could be easily fixed. Nice modern shower had mold on the tile joints. Toilet dirty. Beautiful wood floor, but dust in the corners and under the bed was terrible.

Good location, no luxury but comfortable

I selected the hotel as it was very close to the European Environment Agency at Kobens Nyhavn were I had a two-day meeting. I was then very happy to found it was also close to a Metro station, a fairly large Mall, and to excellent touristic spots like channels, historical buildings, etc., visitable even although the breaks from work were short. I even got to see the change of the Danish guard at a nearby plaza, no less impressive than the one at Buckingham Palace in London!
