Dining

Tivolihallen Lunch Restaurant
On the ground floor hotel has the Tivolihallen lunch restaurant. Tivolihallen is one of Copenhagens absolute best restaurants for open-faced sandwiches (smorrebrod), as well as one of the few places where you can still try the old Nordic delicacy called Klipfisk. In the evening the traditional Danish cuisine is on the menu. Try for instance "Rodgrod med flode". Tivolihallen is open on weekdays between 11.30 am and 4.30 pm. Tuesday to Saturday also evenings from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm.
Dinner
On the corner of Farvergade and Gasegade near the cosy little square called Vandkunsten and a mere 100 m. from Hotel Danmark is Reinwalds, a lunch restaurant hotel highly recommend. Reinwalds menu is inspired by the freshest seasonal ingredients. The cooking is Danish, with touches of inspiration from both the classical and modern French cooking. Monday to Saturday 2.00 pm to Midnight (the kitchen closes at 10.00 pm). Sunday and holidays - closed.
Gammel Strand
Near Frederiksholm canal, only minutes' walk from the hotel, is Gammel Strand and a chance to sip a lovely cafe latte outdoors or enjoy a relaxing stroll along the canal. The area offers a wide variety of eating out opportunities, from small cafes to gourmet restaurants. During the Summer, Gammel Strand hosts an exciting antique market and is one of the mandatory stops for the canal tours.

Meeting facilities

Meeting Info
In the upper floor with a view of the Citys towers and spires, we have created a small meeting room with standard AV equipment. This small meeting room offers one of Copenhagens best views. The hotel lounges are available for your conference breaks. As an alternative, hotel rooms can be combined to create a small apartment.

Good location, good value

Booked this as part of a package. We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel - relatively small room, but comfortable, it had everything we needed. Breakfast not included, but can buy from hotel for 155 dkk per person which is quite pricey. We chose not to eat at the hotel but had breakfast bagels at a cafe one morning and a buffet breakfast another - for much less that 155 dkk! Hotel is in a great location - about 5 minutes from the central train station and Tivoli Gardens, and right in the centre of town. No complaints for this 3 star hotel.

Very BAD experience, two star/not three.

Dear tourists, We will briefly a few times a year on vacation. Generally in Sweden or Denmark. This time we've been to Copenhagen. We were very badly affected at Hotel Danmark. For us, it was long time ago that you can smoking in your room as a guest. We are a couple who does not smoke. We stayed for 5 nights. We had a window facing the street in the third floor. The cigarette smell in our room was getting worse. However, we found out that there was smoke in the hall. Finally I called the front desk and I told him where the smoking come from. I have said that there are guests who smoke in the hall. He told me, if we do not like it then we will move. It was now 23:00 We were very tired and we slept from 21:00. We were surprised by the reaction of the reception. For they would not intervene, saying that the guests can smoke there! This reaction surprised us greatly. We were there three nights and slept in fetid smell smoke and we had to move to another room. We never informed from the outset about the smoking policy. We found the staff very unsympathetic. The windows are not properly insulated and the noise from the street is enormous. The heater had a hard time keeping the room warm because the windows do not close properly. The hotel we will NOT recommend to anyone. Max from Holland/the Netherlands

Awesome trip

First time to Europe, not 100% sure of what to expect. Overall not terrible, just not what we are used to. In the end, location turned out to be most important for us. Location EXCELLENT-- walking distance to touristy stuff/parks/stores, cafes, etc. Staff was polite, but not really going out of their way to help out, considering the number of international, possibly inexperienced travelers in and out of the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with cable TV, although missing amenities taken for granted in the U.S.A. No iron, a single hand/body/hair soap, no mini store in hotel for things you might have forgotten to pack.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

From Copenhagen airport, take the train to the Central Station. Much faster and cheaper than taking a taxi. Central Station is only 2 blocks from the hotel.

Great Location, small rooms

Enjoyed my stay at the hotel. A number of attractions within short walking distance including museums and Tivoli Gardens. Rooms are small but why are you spending time in the room, get out and see the city.

Quaint, but uncomfortable

Danmark location is excellent, but the facilities are not. The double bed in the standard room fills the space so it's difficult to get around. The bathroom floor is level, not sloping toward the drain, so the floor gets soaked. The 3rd wall of the shower is formed by a hinged section that swings out to shield the sink. Rooms are not air conditioned, and traffic noise was a problem when windows were opened Staff is pleasant and helpful..

Money-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

Two of the very best museums are free: The Museum of Danish Resistance (WW II)is a bus ride or long walk from Danmark hotel. It is on the route of the hop-on, hop-off sightseeing bus, which is a good way to see a lot. The National Museum, which covers BC to the present, is only 2 blocks from Danmark Hotel.
