Great place to stay---4.8 Stars!

I have stayed at the Kong Arthur Hotel several times now, and continue to have a wonderful experience. This time I was in a newly renovated section that had a spacious and beautiful room that was very clean and very nicely appointed. As usual, the staff was friendly and efficient. A great plus, as usual, was the breakfast buffet, and the proximity of a wonderful Spanish restaurant (Pinxtos). A new perk that I did not get to try, but hope to next time, is the onsite spa. I only have two minor criticisms. First, it would be a great help if the hotel employed a regular bellhop or installed a ramp for persons coming with heavy luggage. My trip was all business, so I had books and a computer. After dragging all of this around the airports, it was somewhat daunting to have to pull them up and down the stairs surrounding the reception area. I asked for help as I was leaving, though, and the front desk was accommodating and friendly. They also got me a great cab driver who handled the rest. So it all ended as well as the trip had gone up to that point. Second, and finally, I'd like to suggest that the Hotel adds chicken or turkey sausage to its breakfast offerings for those who do not eat pork. My overall feeling, though, about this hotel is that it is splendid. So hats off to the Kong Arthur!

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Be sure to see the museums, parks, and castles not far from the hotel. The walk is not short, nor is it very long. Rather, it is easy and pleasant, especially if one has time to saunter. Copenhagen is a wonderful---and safe---pedestrian city.

Simple, elegant, great location

We had a beautiful room facing the courtyard. It was very quiet and comfortable. Our room was quite spacious and had one king bed. Loved the location, across from the lakes. Staff was OK, not very helpful regarding tourist info.

Hotel makes good

Recently I had a disappointing room, but I want to note that the management gave me a much better room - a junior suite - the following day to make up for my trouble. The room was really nice and comfortable. For that reason I am upgrading my opinion. Also, the lounge area at night for sitting down and having a drink is charming and relaxing.

Charming but...

Nice exterior, charming interior. Very small room. Can't rate it highly because my room was too cold. Heater not working well and the duvet was a summer duvet so I had to sleep in my sweater. They couldn't do anything. Also, a little foul egg smell coming from my bathroom.

KONG ARTHUR DECEMBER 2011

We had reserved our first three nights here, and extended our stay for the full week! Hotel is in a great location, easy walking distance to Nørreport (a main bus and metro station), also a 15 minute walk to Strøget (the mega shopping), but on a quiet street on the water. Good price (for expensive Copenhagen), carbon neutral, helpful staff. We upgraded to a king bed room, and it had a deep soaking tub which made up for the slightly less impressive spa facilities....(hot tub: not that hot) We also enjoyed the hotel's breakfast buffet on our last morning, which was nice with very good selections and good choices, I think, if you're traveling with kids.

Restaurant Favorites: Tight! and Da Nino e Franco, both easy walking distance, and in Christiania: Morgenstedet (food co-op, vegetarian, funky but delicious!) and be sure to try the hot dog stand: DOP (next to the Round Tower)... yummy!

Copenhagen Vacation

This hotel was recommended by Danish friends of our daughter. Its location is in a nice area of the city and just a 5-10 minute walk to the major downtown area. It is actually four old hotels merged together and renovated. The original room we reserved was very small and this was hard to tell from the pictures on the website. We were able to upgrade to a larger room(jr suite) which was more comparable in size to a usual American sized hotel room. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and there were several restaurants associated with the hotel which were very good. We would definitely stay here again.

Somewhat disappointing

Elevators were broken when we arrived after our flight due to rainstorms in Copenhagen and they put us in a fifth floor room, meaning our luggage had to go up five flights of stairs! They switched our room the next day, and carried our luggage for us, but we weren't very pleased that they put us there to begin with considering that their elevator wasn't working. The location was ok, not great -- for some reason there was a huge heap of manure located not far from the hotel so we could always smell when we were almost there.

Great hotel in Copenhagen

I stayed two nights at the Kong Arthur hotel while on business - very well situated near the train/metro station and easy to reach from the airport by both; I was able to get out for a walk around the lakes between meetings; good in room internet access, nice room overall, and friendly staff. I would stay there again.

Elegant and comfortable

Kong Arthur is beautiful, near great restaurants and very close to attractions. It's set off the street, so our front-facing room was still quiet. The room was small but the bed was very comfortable and the furniture nicely modern. The bathroom was spacious and squeaky clean. Friendly, English-fluent staff. This was our second stay in Copenhagen and we greatly preferred this neighborhood to the area near Tivoli Gardens.

A Classical Hotel near the center of Copenhagen

Classical hotel, not too big. Beautiful and classical aspect. Wonderful staircase, nice plaster and curtains in rooms. Minor problems with bathrooms. Some problems also with the internet connection that is supposed to be free for hosts, but didn`t work. Staff: very kind and young. Pay attention to receipts and information, though. Mistakes are possible. On the whole: something to remember. Very good breakfast in a beautiful veranda on a garden. 10-20 min walking from downtown. Taxi immediately available.
