We love the small city oases. One of those is to be found here where both hotel and neighborhood; the beautiful lakes, Nrreport metro station (15 minutes to airport) and downtown, give you the best of Copenhagen. We believe that small things make a big difference. This is why we give you free admission to our spa, free internet, parking facilities at cost, free coffee in the morning and much much more. We also love a gorgeous setting; To be welcomed by a beautiful style of decr that makes us feel comfortable; To spot a comfy sofa, inviting us to lounge in it with a great book; To have a good time in front of the fireplace alone or with friends. By and large, we like to feel at ease when going somewhere. This is why it is important to us to make you feel like home when staying with us. Our 155 rooms are all unique, just like we are at Hotel Kong Arthur. To us, uniqueness is charm. Common to all rooms, though, is that they all have a great bed so you can sleep well. To make it as easy for you as possible when travelling as a family, your children can stay for free when sleeping in your bed. What is most important to us is making you feel welcome. We have our hearts in everything we do: Both when fighting CO2 emission and when making our best effort in giving you a perfect stay.

Wonderful vacation

We found the staff to be very helpful and courteous. The hotel was located within walking distance to most attractions, including the botanical gardens, and the Metro and other trains provided transportation to other points of interest. It was very easy to get around. We were fortunate that the weather was excellent for our entire trip. The only down side was our room which faced the courtyard. We had a couple of nights of sleep interrupted by noisy conversations, but once we notified the front desk they took care of it promptly.

Clean but small

We booked a standard double, but I noticed that it is the same size as the "superior" single. With a smarter room arrangement, the room could have been made to feel bigger, but silly things like a heavy basket of useless books and a too-big desk wasted the limited floor space. We utilized the space under the bed to store a small suitcase which helped. The windowsill was large enough for a suitcase, too, but the curtain opened on the wrong side, making this option less accessible. The hotel claims to be "green", but I found this to be "greenwash". There were little bottles of toiletries, but the maid never replaced the shampoo. On the plus side, the bed and bedding were clean and comfortable. There was an electric coffee/tea pot on the windowsill that could be used to make hot water, but it had to be moved to the bathroom where there was an outlet to plug it into. The bathroom was an adequate size, with a good solid wood door, not glass as in so many Copenhagen hotels. The best part of this hotel was that it was on a bike path just two blocks away from an excellent bicycle-rental place, Baisikeli at Turesensgade 10. On the street passing south of the hotel was a very nice bakery/cafe just one block away. I would rate this hotel as three stars instead of four.

Denmark is expensive and so the hotels are too

I was very pleased with the staff in every way and the hotel had a fair location. My room was fine and quiet. Everything was run professionally. I have no idea why I had to pay so much for breakfast. I think it should be included in the already high price. And at these prices, they should have staff to welcome you and help you with your luggage as well as people to show you to your room. If this is a 4-star hotel, I shutter to think about the ancillary services of a three-star hotel.

Better than most

The staff were pleasant, courteous and obliging. The room was clean and cozy. Only negative was the room location. Though the lack of air conditioning would not be too critical in Scandinavia to be comfortable on warm evenings, we had to open our windows. Unfortunately, our 2nd floor room overlooked the hotel restaurant and courtyard. Occasionally, hotel residents who lacked manners would have loud boisterous gatherings until late in the evening in the courtyard. When the front desk was contacted, someone would immediately respond and the group was silenced. I would return to the hotel on a future stay in Copenhagen but I would request a room in a different location.

Christiana and Carlsburg brewery proved interesting. A day trip via train to Malmo, Sweeden is certainly a treat. End the day with a cold Guinness at the Globe Irish Pub.

Not a 4 Star Hotel

This hotel sadly does not live up to the promotion. For the $234 per queen size bed room, we got low rate, double bed, attic room which was so small, 2 people could not walk past each other. Our travel partner had a large room for the same price on the first floor. The hotel is not air conditioned and as such, a summer stay is risky like we experienced. The desk staff has to multi task performing other duties such as bar tending and busing of tables. We will not stay here again should we return to Copenhagen. We will look for an American brand hotel and skip the European inn.

Copenhagen, Denmark

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kong Arthur. Beautifully appointed room, nice bath, attentive staff. We arrived early and they were able to accomodate us almost immediately. Great Location. Metro stop also had a train stop and a commuter train stop. Close to restaurants and coffee bars. this was the best place we stayed in Scandinavia. We highly recommend it.

Problem with the room assigned

I had booked a junior suite room however they give me a standard double room without telling me nothing about that. I had to call because the room had two twin beds and I had asked for a room with a king bed. They say that they will change the beds, however, when I notice that the bathroom had only a bad shower (without shower doors) I knew that I didn't got a junior suite. I had to go and talk to the receptionist and just then they told me that they didn't have a junior suite available that day or any other room and that at the next day they would change me to a full suite in return. I was upset because if I hadn't complaint they wouldn't have say anything about the room and I think it was unprofessional. Beside that incident the suite was nice and big. The bed wasn't good but apparently is the standard in Copenhagen because it seemed more like two twin beds together than one king bed. The hotel is located in an area with several restaurants nearby, however all of them where expensive in comparison to other capitals in Europe. Overall, Copenhagen is a beautiful city, though expensive, and we had a great time there.

Don't go hungry!

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night after our cruise. In the morning it was very busy with people coming back from a cruise as well as people about to get on the bus to go to the cruise. The hotel is nice but our room was small and the bathroom was stinky with a shower and no bath tub. Had to pay to use the hotel computer to print boarding pass. The main restaurant was only opening in the morning so we had lunch at the Italian restuarant which was nice. We walked around most of the afternoon but when it was time for dinner there wasn't much around the area so that was disappointing! You must order a taxi in advance as there is no street parking
