Phoenix Copenhagen is a 4 star deluxe hotel with an impressive atmosphere in historical surroundings. The hotel is located in the centre of the financial districts only a few minutes' walk from Amalienborg Castle, exciting Nyhavn, Kgs. Nytorv and the Royal Theatre. Inspiration from the Louis XVI epoch characterizes the 206 elegantly furnished rooms and the 7 elegant suites. The hotel also offers 6 beautifully decorated conference rooms, a gourmet restaurant and an English Pub. The history of the hotel can be dated as far back as to the 17th century. In the course of time, the hotel has been the preferred hotel of the landed gentry as well as the Royal. Following a very thorough redecoration inspired by the French Louis XVI style, Phoenix Copenhagen, like the mythical Phoenix, re-emerged in full glory in 1991. A service level out of the ordinary and an attention drawn to details are your guarantee for a memorable stay in Copenhagen.

Excellent value

The hotel is cozy, comfortable place to spend a night or two while waiting to board a cruise ship. The location is a few short blocks from the main canal and within walking distance to the Stroget. Staff was extremely professional, courteous and helpful.

Traditional Beautiful Hotel

Location is very nice. Hospitality is very nice. But there is no bath tab. I heard that it is normal for the hotels in Copenhagen. It must be culture of Denmark. I have heard that many hotels in Copenhagen do not have any bath tab.

Pretty and comfortable

The staff members helped figure out trips. Computer use was helpful. It was a very pretty hotel and courtyard. [...] We settled for 2 singles and after the first move because of noise, the bed was one queen. Then we moved again and in that room the air conditioner didn't work. Good location.I thought it was expensive

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Don't eat at Nyhavn. We ate at the Heering and it was super expensive and horrible. Then they added 3.75% to the bill for using a "foreign" debit card. 3 meals cost over $110.00.

Great Location

I am used to small rooms in Europe, but this was exceptionally small. The room also had exposed beams that unless you are paying attention would be easy to hit with your head (as I found out in the middle of the night). The bathroom is much larger than the room and was the only nice point in the room for me. The bed was small and relatively uncomfortable. The room was extremely hot and the A/C was almost completly ineffective. The location was great though, between Nyhaven and Amalienborg. Easy to find on maps and close to almost everything I wanted to do.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Take a canal cruise when you get there. It is a great way to see beautiful architecture and helps a little with orientation to the city. It was one of the most pleasant and enjoyable parts of my trip.

Good Location

Very good central location, pleasant lobby, friendly staff. The room was very small, one step from the bed in every direction. Bath tab was not equipped for taking showers, it felt dangerous to stand in due to the rounded bottom.

Soft bed, small room but good location

Hotel is close to the New Harbor which offers a lot of restaurants and where you can have a canal cruise. The main shopping street is about 5 min. walk and the mermaid statue is about 10 min. walk. It is fairly close to the cruise ship terminal. The front desk staff were friendly and offered good advice. The problem is the room was quite small even by European standard. The door and wall were thin and hence sometimes it could be noisy when people walked by. The bed was pretty worn out and did not offer much support. We were pretty tired everyday and were able to catch some sleep but I believe it might be uncomfortable for some people. The shower tub was quite high and there was no handle to help you get into the tub. A step stool was provided and one must use caution in climbing in and out of the tub.

Great location

The Phoenix hotel suited me well. The location was excellent. It was walking distance to the Marble Church, two palaces, the Metro, Storget and many restaurants. There was a lovely buffet breakfast included in the room rate. The rooms were small and we were offered a dark, small room on the lowest floor which, fortunately we were able to change for one that was more to our liking. The staff was helpful and courteous. A business center with free computers was a nice feature.
