Riu Bachata All Inclusive

The area where the resort is located is absolutely beautiful. The staff are all very polite and helpful. The entertainment crew is hilarious and a lot of fun. There are lots of things to do at the resort if you don't want to leave to do outside activities and there are shows every night. The only things I didn't like were that there's nowhere in the resort where you can grab a snack 24 hrs. If you miss dinner, which ends at 10, you're out of luck until breakfast, which begins at 7. Also, there are no irons or ironing boards in the room. You have to go to the front desk and put down a deposit for these things. Third, the outlets are not fit for chargers for things like cell phones and cameras. You also have to put a deposit down at the front desk for an adapter to plug anything with a large charger in.

We go alot because they always treat you like family!!!!!!

About now? II Frustration, and aggravation in Riu Bachata, Puerto Plata. They shut the air conditioning (chiller system) down by midnight and restore it at 5:00 am, at day time it is just a little cold. They have no 1-800 numbers in their telephones to call outside the complex, I needed to call Orbitz in order to make a cancellation and be transferred to other hotel, I got trapped in there. Two mediocre restaurants, (Steak House and the Italian) same menu and same sides in both of them, Same thing at Merengue's Resort (two same restaurants) no choice. In the Italian I requested salmon, and they served other fish as a salmon fish. There is only one brand of red wine, because we didn't like it I requested a wine chart, I was told that I should go to the hotel store in order to buy the wine of my preference. However the buffet restaurant is, beautiful providing a good and great food variety. They are no serving liquor at the table in the recreations areas. Not hair conditioner in the bathroom. The safety box in the closet is mounted on the floor, means that you must to lay down or bend down in order to access your belonging. Not room service and only are providing 3 beers (in bottles) each other day The beach with few spots of sands and lots of rocks. The taxis drivers have their own agenda, you must meet their expectations ($) despite that I am the money man. It is a real shame, the hotel is very clean, well maintained, The view spectacular, the workers super nice, when I complained about the AC the manager offered to us no one, both two other rooms, but my wife have a hip replacement and is unable to climb the third or second floor.

Great staff. The ammenities have diminshed since I first went in 2005.

it wasn't as great as I thought . Entertainment needs more action, food needs more variety,they didn't have bikes or an iron on the bedroom.'

Rio Bachata is a beautiful place to release stress, get away from rotine. There are lot of different activities. Yuo can play games, swim, dance ect. Staffs are very frienly and helpful. They care about people's sastifaction. They have different animation shows. I liked the the food. They have a vast variaty of food where to choose from. I really recomend this hotel and I would definelly come back to this beautiful place.

Checking in was the only probelm.Three hour wait. I wish that the staff explained where all the amenities and activities were located to us instead of finding out later . After that it was very good. Very Clean Resort.The Staff is Friendly . Food is very very good. Pool and beach was very good. Would come back here again. I found this resort very good.

Hotel is beautiful and food was amazing! Very easy check-in. Grounds were well kept and beautiful. Only complaint would be pillows in room were very FLAT and air conditioning did not seem to work well at all, even after complaining. Also, our ocean view was a bay, not the ocean. And without air, kind of hard to enjoy the view. Would still go back but not do ocean view.

Nice all inclusive for a get away. Food is good. Carry your own hard liquor as the in house stuff is really rough. (hooch) Air conditioners are shut off a couple of hours in the early morning. In sufficient paeking if you drive.
