Barcelo Punta Cana - All Inclusive

The Hotel was very nice, clean, roomy, and overall very nice. The Beach was beautiful, nice pools, good entertainment, and plenty to do. Cons: Food and drinks. All the drinks tasted pretty much the same. The buffet was not good, although there is a large variety of foods to choose from on the buffet. I found the food did not agree with me not to mention, I didn't think it was very tasty. I ate from the Pasta Bar daily. Most of the other restaurants require reservations-make sure you get those. The staff was nice overall, although not everyone speaks good English. If you know any Spanish at all, the staff appreciates you trying. The vacation was nice, but not somewhere I would go back to.

This hotel was a disaster from the start!! We got there after check in time and it still took over 30 minutes for our room to be ready! Staff was NOT helpful or friendly. When we finally got into our room, the bathroom was dirty, especially the bathtub!! Also the bathroom door had no handle, so when I went to use the bathroom, I got locked inside the bathroom for over 20 minutes! We had to call downstairs to the reception twice for someone to finally come up and get me out of the bathroom. When they came up to the room, they put a door handle on the door and said we were all set. I complained to the hotel manager, after filling out a report, and he simply said, "Well theres a door handle now, isnt there?" ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Not to mention it was my birthday and he did nothing to help the situation. Eventually we said we wanted our money back and we were leaving but he assured us we would be upgraded to premium status and an oceanview room. We were NOT moved into an oceanview room after waiting 2 hours for this room!!!!!!!!!!! The premium status included free wifi throughout the hotel, though it didnt work anywhere except an internet cafe. Food & drinks were disgusting!!! Staff was not friendly and barely spoke a word of english. All the beach chairs were broken on the beach and no servers came around with drinks. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. It was awful!! We ended up checking out a day after and booking the rest of our trip at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Check in was a little confused, but overall had a great experience. Loved the shows. Always found something I liked to eat and the staff was real nice. Casino could be a little larger but liked the fact that they paid out tokens instead of a piece of paper. Love the sound of tokens coming out. The relaxation massage was a great value at $20 for 20 minutes.

The staff in the shows were great! Had two GREAT bartenders. The other staff were very slow. The hotel did not go out of there way to explain the hotel itself as to what was going on. They were also very slow. Was not impressed with the buffet. The other dinner areas which you need reservations were very good.

The staff was wonderful; the beach was perfect. The food could have been much better and their work-out facilities needed much improvement and better and more modern equipment.

great service, stuff constantly made sure that people were satisfied, so many activities for children you couldnt get bored. the cleanest water and beach I have ever seen !!!!

You can not find a better deal for the money you are paying. The staff is fantastic and the food awesome. White sand front beach and the hotel room is clean. I just arrive today and I would love to come back tomorow. It will be better to book your trip from Sunday trough Friday because the hotel gets very busy with local turists on the weekend. Tip the staff, learn a few words in spanish, they will love it . Dominicans are brear people.

Cons: When I entered my room, I found two people in the beds, I left the room promptly, and was given another room. I found 2 roaches in my room along with a number of ants. There was no hot water during the weekend (when the hotel had more guests). The food wasn't very good overall. Beach towels never seemed to be available. The mini-bar wasn't refilled, despite several requests. The toilet had trouble flushing Pros: The staff is very friendly, which can really make up for the hotel's short-comings. The shows and activities are lots of fun. The pool and beach are great. Overall, there's a lot this hotel needs to improve. It's worth noting that I still enjoyed my trip despite the numerous resort issues, so the service/staff really helped salvage some bad situations.

It wasn't the nicest hotel, but it was good for the money. We did have a cockroach in the room, but you can find that anywhere. The food could be much better. Also, the hotel gives deals to locals on the weekends, so it didn't seem like much of a vacation spot on the weekends... more like the local hangout. The beach was very nice, and the entertainment was great. My parents went on the trip with us, and it was their anniversary while we were there. They decorated their door, gave them drinks & food in their room, and decorated their table at dinner which was very nice. Some of the servers were a bit rude, but some were great! All in all we had a good time, but I am not too sure we would come back. Next time we will probably spend a little more to get a little more.
