Catalonia Royal Bavaro is surrounded by coconut palms and lush vegetation. A heavenly location for relaxation or water sports activities. This all suite-resort offers spacious accommodation with 144 Superior junior suites,90 Deluxes Junior Suites, national and international alcoholic drinks, one Mediterranean specialty restaurant and one Spanish Restaurant with specialty of Tapas to dinner in a romantic ambience next to lake. Putting green and pitch & putt, Internet service(free), room service 24-hours, plus all the facilities and services offered at the Catalonia Bavaro Beach Golf & Casino Resort. Amazing - bring single bills
Although all inclusive, tipping a few dollars goes a long way. The glasses get bigger and the staff become more attendant. Regardless, they are all incredibly polite and helpful. The food and restaurants on the adults only side are superb. Avoid the restaurants where children are allowed, the quality is less than the adult side. I was able to negotiate an upgrade price to the rooms with the private pool upon my arrival which is well worth it. Waking up to room service and champagne sitting outside by your private pool is an amazing experience and close to the beach.

Don't book airport travel through the website. The travel company will make you meet them at scheduled meetings (twice) to upsell you on their excursions offered. Why schedule anything on your vacation? The concierge can arrange anything you need.

worst in 25 yrs of travel
If you request royal catalonia you will be down graded when you get there. It is a total scam. You pay for a good room and get an old room with poor plumbing. They place they put you is where the nitely "music" is so loud, until 12:30 am. that your bed shakes.The food is poor, dogs barking at 3:00 am. They accept american money, but have every countries flag flying except the american flag. If this is the first place you visit, you will never again to Pinta Cana.

Great Place for the money
Me and my wife recently returned from this resort. Wonderful people and service. The food for the most part was very good, and they kept the drinks flowing. Very clean, large room. Nice pools and amenities, grounds were beautiful (especially at night). Would go back in a heartbeat, no other resort came close for the money you pay to stay here (We've been to two other very nice resorts in the past two years). Not everyone can be 100% pleased, but we had no issues with this resort, ultimate relaxation! Tip: for what it's worth, updgrade to the next level "deluxe room" if possible. A little nicer, larger, newer, and closer to the beach.

Great Honeymoon
Honeymoon was the best part of our marriage due to Catalonia Royal. We meet great people there, service people was very kind and were always looking how to make you confortable. Poolbar is great, nice caribbean music and the coctails are delicious. Best restaurant for us: Japanese.

Hotel Catalonia
the hotel was great the rooms were awsome! they were clean and seems like they clean the room 3 times a day. the food was not good at all! the food is more like a 3 star hotel food, and the service is horrible you ask for a simple drink and you wait 20-30 mins...while you see the waiter laughing with other waiters and not doing their job, very very unorganized. but besides the food and service my wife and i had a great time, great location and nice rooms.

Just What I Expected

Relaxing Vacation
Good location. Nice comfortable setting for relaxation. The eating places left little to be desired. Food was very bland and not that great. Would probably try a different hotel if I ever go back. Staff was OK, friendly but don't go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. I'd give it a 3 star rating, nothing higher.

Everything was great the hotel did everything to try and make your vacation and stay the most relaxing. The hotel will do everything for you so you will not have to lift a finger except walk to the beach or pool that is.
