Located on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean - Playa Bvaro - on the east coast of the Dominican Republic. Recognized with a Blue Flag by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). Playa Bvaro beach is world-famous for its white sand, turquoise water and palm trees that burst in with their striking green color: a paradise in which three types of ecosystems converge - the mangrove forest, coral reef and seagrass. It is easily accessed by a highway, in just 35 kilometers you are at the international airport and in 5 minutes at the fantastic 18-hole course of Punta Blanca Golf Club, designed by Nick Price.
The hotel has all the necessary amenities for perfect a vacation. Its two large lake-style swimming pools are surrounded by large sun terraces with deck chairs and, just like its fantastic spa, they are perfect for relaxing. Lovers of sports and physical activity can get started or improve in activities typical of this area, such as sailing, kayaking or snorkeling. Gastronomy is another of the Gran Baha Prncipe Punta Cana's strengths: you can choose from a buffet-style restaurant and five a-la-carte restaurants offering cuisine from different countries. Guests also can enjoy some of the services at the nearby Gran Baha Prncipe Bvaro.
The 780 rooms of the hotel Gran Baha Prncipe Punta Cana are spread over spacious two and three-story villas - of luxury and well-being.
Bars and Restaurants: The best international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the main buffet and the finest dinners in the five a-la-carte specialty restaurants. You can also enjoy the Complex's other five a-la-carte restaurants: Gourmet, Italian, Mediterranean, Mexican and Japanese cuisine and Steakhouse. All reservations include three dinners per 7 night stay in the a-la-carte theme restaurants.
Sports: The hotel offers water sports for all tastes such as snorkrling and kayaking (each 1 hour complimentary per day), or you can learn the basics of scuba diving in the pool (1 complimentary session per stay) or go sailing aboard catamarans and motorboats (with charge). If you prefer traditional sports, you have a gym and facilities to play soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, paddle tennis, mini-golf, darts or lawn bowling. And for golf lovers, just five minutes away you'll find the fantastic 18-hole golf course at Punta Blanca Golf Club (with charge).
Wellness: The spa offers the most exotic Caribbean treatments and has several massage palapas on the magnificent beach - a unique environment just for our guests. It also offers a spectacular hydrotherapy area (water circuit) to combat stress, where there are three types of saunas, therapeutic and sensation showers, baths, bubble beds, neck jets and two splendid pools.
Entertainment: A vibrant daily international program, live music and a wide variety of nightly shows in the Hotel's amphitheater will entertain adults and kids alike. The excitement continues at night in the karaoke piano bar, at the casino and dancing in the discotheque.
Children: It is the perfect place for kids to have fun with multiple activities throughout the day. They can also play in the mini-club (from 4 to 12 years). And at night, they have the mini-disco. Baby-sitting service available (with charge).
Also: 24-hour medical service, Internet center, pharmacy (all with charge), an auditorium for business meetings, specialized professional wedding, anniversary and event planning service. Free Wi-fi in the lobby.

Late Spring Break Get-away

This was our first time to Punta Cana. We usually travel within Mexico but decided to do something different this year. A co-worker recommended this resort - so I highly trusted her recommendation. Location: Beautiful white sand beach with clear blue water. Beach/Pool: Overcrowded. Big downfall was no open lounge chairs. We had to get set our alarm clocks at 730AM everyday to pick up our beach towels (@ 8am) to save a spot. Although, that rarely ever worked out due to the fact that almost every seat was already "taken" prior to 8am. **TIP: Save your old beach towel til the next morning to save your seat bright and early - that way you do not need to wait til 8am for the towel stand to open. **Beach: Be aware there are nudist sun bathing on the beach - I thought a little arrogant especially since there were young children walking and playing around. Room: Location was perfect (Villa 11) in the middle of everything. Good walking distance. Bus service available every 5 minutes (As so they say). Lighting in the room needs to be changed - too dark. We were not able to turn on the tall lap in the corner. The fridge smelled like bad residue - needs to be cleaned - also "mini bar" were barely ever cold. Room presentation creative and cute. Food: Surprisingly good. Drinks: barley puts any alcohol - depending on which bartender. Shows: Michael Jackson was the only good one. Some co workers arrogant - made some racial comments directly at us. Overall, was a decent stay.

Fun time

The hotel and grounds were beautiful. The food however was mediocre at best. I could not get reservations at any of the restaurants that I wanted to try, but after going to the ones I was able to - I doubt they were any good. I ended up going elsewhere to eat dinner. You also must be an early riser if you want to get a chair at the beach or your favorite pool.

Very nice!

This was a family vacation: we took our 15 and 13 year old girls. The kids were not bored - wi fi area, miniature golf, many pools, nightly entertainment. The circus and Michael Jackson nights were great. The facility is huge!!

Average get what ya pay for trip

When shopping for bargain beach vacations, my first inclination is Mexican locations. But I wanted to try something different this time, and was urged to do so by my travel companion. I think I'll stick to Mexico. The staff at both the hotel and excursions were less than impressive. It was rare to bump into anyone who seemed eager to make our experience exceptional. I often felt as though we were a burden. Their english was poor. Only shop keepers and the front desk people spoke fluently. Service in the restaurant was slow and spotty. Our hotel had several restaurants, but we were only able to experience the buffet. All reservations for the specialty restaurants were filled even before we arrived. So it was never even an option to try them. The food was decent buffet style, but became a little repetative, since it was our only option. 24 hour room service was supposedly included in our package. However there was no menu to be found and when we called the front desk staff about it, they said our room is not served room service. so that was another disappointment. The clerk apologized to us at check out, but offered no reparations. The beach and water were very pretty, but way way way overcrowded. It was almost impossible to find a chair to lay in. And any sand castle would be trampled in minutes due to the traffic. Way too many available hotel rooms for the size of their beach. But escaping to the pools wasnt really an option either. Every poolside chair was claimed before the sun rose in the morning. Even though gratuities are supposedly included in the price of the vacation package, I've worked in the service industry, so I'm big on rewarding good service with a little extra. I never tipped once this trip. The staff were unmotivated and unimpressive. They would have to offer a huge price difference to get me to choose DR over Mexico. And I'd know going into the trip that I was paying for the weather, not the hotel service.

Nightlife tip: Short drive from hotel

We did a nightclub excursion to Imagine with open bar. It was a nightclub built in a cave. A very interesting experience. Be prepared to wait in long lines for your included drinks. Be prepared to have no idea what is going on because the staff informs you of nothing.

Normal vacation

I was at this resort with my wife and 2 kids (ages 28 months and 14 months) from february 6 to 13. I checked all the reviews before going and have to say was not sure for 100%. But now I can say that everything was good. a few bad things. 1st. they gave me a room on the 3rd floor (no elevator.2 infants with a stroller).I thing that was purposly, but $20 fixed everything.2nd.the mattresses were terrible, may be for us only.they are very, very soft and you fall in and can't have a sleep.3rd.the resort was too big,was built towards the beach and a little long walk from resturant to the beach.but the rest was good.food is great, stuff very friendly, everything very clean.

Probably won't return

The first thing I noticed in the hotel room was the ants. Later I noticed what may have been bed bugs. The bed was hard as a rock and the room could definitely use an update. I was afraid to use the blanket because it smelled and looked like it had never been washed. You could not escape the cigarette smoke or the people asking you to buy things. The excursions were mediocre and a little scary. The buffets got tiresome because they lacked variety but you can expect that at an all inclusive resort. However, the Japanese restaurant and the Steak House were great and the staff was very friendly and accomodating, especially at the Sports Bar. Also, the weather was perfect and the scenery was gorgeous.

If you can't get a reservation for dinner, talk to the person at the front because they may be able to squeeze you in anyway and it's definitely worth trying to escape the buffet.

Enjoyed our visit

We just got back from the resort on Feb. 27. We had a great time. We enjoyed all the little extras the resort included such as flowers and etc. in the room, chocolates on the bed and etc. The people who worked there were wonderful. The food was good, but I did get tired of buffet food after several days. (my problem). Everything was included and the pools were wonderful. There were only two things I was unhappy with. The beach was so crowded that you couldn't enjoy it. Second, people were rude at reserving their chairs and then never showing up to sit in them while other people were searching for places to sit. All in all it was a wonderful trip.,

What you'd expect from all inclusive

Well landscaped property and pleasant looking accomodations. Walls were a little thin and we could hear the neighbors but not a big deal. Second night there we were asked to complete a hotel review in which I mentioned that some minor mechanical issues plagued the resort and our room (leaking faucet, slow drain, broken light fixture outside, and a broken cable connection to the TV). The same night while we were out dining everything was fixed, a clock radio was added to the nigth ttable, and we were given souvenir bath robes of good quality. Good for management on that one! 5+ for responding to customer complaints. Buffets were good and a la carte restaurants we reserved were very good.
