Hilton Sharm Dreams Resort

I was highly disappointed in my stay at Hilton Sharm Dreams this time. Last year, I had a wonderful experience. It seems since the revolution, the quality of service has gone down considerably. I booked (and paid for) a non-smoking room, which is also on my Hilton Honors profile. I told them I didn't have my Hilton Honors number with me...they didn't offer to look it up but told me when I found it to bring it to reception. They gave me a smoking room in the back of the complex, with construction going on downstairs. I asked to change rooms, had to listen to pounding of hammers for 2 hours while I waited. Reception had me on hold 2 times for 5 minutes each, said they would call back but didn't, finally told me someone was on their way to change my room, and after 20 more minutes I walked toward reception until I found staff to help. In new room, mold was growing on the bathroom wall, I had no spoon with the tea & coffee...used my toothbrush to stir, the price list for the mini bar had sticky stuff all over it. Definitely NOT Hilton quality. When I went to breakfast at 6:20 (reception said it started at 6), I was told to go away and come back after 10 minutes. I was gone all day and returned at 5 to find my room had still not been cleaned. They showed up at 5:30 pm to offer to clean the room, which by that point I already had done. I had a meeting with one of the business managers of the hotel who said he would "look into" these concerns. Housekeeping did come to take the mold off the wall and to clean the price list. The put a plate of fruit in my room the night before I left as compensation, apparently (I had breakfast included, so really didn't need fruit when I was leaving in 8 hours). In the morning when I was checking out, security refused to let a friend of mine in the hotel lobby area from the outside of the hotel(who was helping me with my luggage). They said it was because he was wearing flip-flops. Half the guests were wearing flip flops. The manager printed my bill for me which has my address in Chicago, Illinios...I have never lived in Chicago, even though it is a nice place. They never found my Hilton Honors card number. The rest of my trip was amazing, outside of the hotel stay. I went on a boat trip to Tiran Island, snorkeled and saw a huge school of dolphins, and spent good time with friends.

During my stay I took the scuba diving certification course which was an amazing experience. The overall stay was nice but the associates at the reception kept mixing my bill with someone else's and I had to dispute charges made to my room.

The hotel was in a great location about 5 minute walk to Naama Bay. There was no beach at this location, but you could walk across the street to Hilton Fayrouz beach and use their facilities. The road crossing the street is very busy. This location did have great swimming pools. The beach was not so great alot of rocks and corals. You could walk along the beach shore from hotel to hotel to get a better picture of Naama Bay. Some of the hotels beach were no more then 14-15ft in width then the beach chairs would back up to the hotel and this is what that would call access to the beach. Some of the hotel would state beach access and the hotel was across the street. Also you want to get close to Naama Bay because the taxi service is a big ripe off. So if you could just walk you are better off then the taxi drivers taking advantage of you. As far as the hotel it is going through renovation phrase, but very well kept up. Also, we stayed 2 extra nights and we had to pay for internet access to book our room at the same rate as before. They have very little customer service at the front desk, which they were giving us alot higher rate. Otherwise, the snorkeling and shopping was fun. This is a great place for a week vacation or short get away.

I was shocked during check in to learn that the hotel is not on the beach and had to cross the street and access another hotel beach. It was not clear on the Orbits site the the hotel is not on the beach. The rate is a bit expense considering beach access. Otherwise, the hotel has many pools and good amminities...service was not bad.

The hotel is really nice, clean and the food was good as well. The location of the hotel is pretty nice and close to the Nima Bay. Only less than 5 minutes walking to tourist area. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to go to Sharm El sheikh.

although pricing was good it would be best only to take it on a bb bases as the food was not up to the hilton standards in other countries the location is very good and within walking distance to nama bay night life i will stay again at the same hotel but only on a bb bases
