- Standard Room for 2 people, 1 Double Bed (few with Twin beds - on request). Approx 18 sqm, in the old part of the Cloister or the new one

- Superior Room for 2 people, 1 Queen Bed or Twin beds. Located in the contemporary building, approx 25 sqm Bedroom with a balcony and overlooking the private garden, with sitting area

- Executive Room for 2 people, 1 Queen Bed or Twin beds. Located in the historical part of the Cloister, approx 30 sqm Bedroom overlooking the inner courtyard, with sitting area. Bathroom renovated.

Solo Female Traveler
Lots of stairs
The hotel is in a nice location, although I would have preferred if it had been a bit closer to the main attractions. The beds were very uncomfortable and an alarm kept going off the first night I was there. The first room given to me required approximately 25 stairs to the bedroom. I am not capable of that due to knee problems. My second room required 5 stairs to the room. Hotel staff not that knowledgable.

One of the most interesting hotel stays
The cool thing about our room was that we had to walk through the choir loft of a 17th century church (still functioning, mass at 6 PM Sundays), complete with lovely stained glass, to get to our room. The room was simple but comfortable and definitely NOT 17 century style. The staff was friendly and accomodating. We could walk to the most interesting activities in town and were withing two blocks of the train and bus stations. We used both.

The Algandon Musee is a small private museum with an exquisite collection of impressionist and earlier art. There was also a photo collection of early attempts at aviation in France and couture design.

Fabulous main part of the building
Fabulous main part of the building with an open courtyard. Wonderful retaurant. New rooms are disappointing.

Beautiful hotel
On check in the person was very impersonal and short. On a later encounter with her I inquired about the internet and she curtly replied no, only in the lobby. However I encountered the same person on check out and she was very pleasant then. Re the internet. I happened to look for a connection while in the room and it appeared that there was one, but it required a password, so I asked a different person at the desk and he very kindly told me that it might or might not work in the room but gave me a password and it worked fine. Apparently some rooms can get connection and some can't. The room was HUGE and had a big balcony overlooking a garden courtyard. There was a couch as well as bed, a desk and a small fridge/minibar. There were 3 closets, one with shelves. The toilet and sink were in a small room near the entrance and the bath/shower and another sink in the middle of the room....however the room with the bath had an open wall, no door, so not much privacy...and it had a handheld shower that was difficult to use without getting the floor wet. That was the only downside of the room. The breakfast was 16 Euros so we didn't try it. Did have dinner in the beautiful restaurant one night and it was good. The location was great....2 short blocks to train station, bakery across the street and restaurants all up and down the block.

We loved the staff at the nearest restaurant....you walk out the hotel to the main street and take a left and its the 1st one on the left side.
