Brimming with buccaneers, mermaids and adventurers of all sorts, the Explorers Hotel at Disneyland Paris has pirate- and jungle-themed suites, executive rooms for the business traveler, and family rooms for up to six people. Whiskey barrels flank the check-in path to the front desk, which resembles the bow of a ship and sets the tone for the nautical theme found throughout the resort. This Paris hotel is geared strongly toward families, with its proximity to both Disneyland Paris and the train station. Kids can be entertained at Disneyland Paris Explorers, where an outdoor pirate-ship play area, indoor pool and even a video arcade are available. Try Smuggler's Tavern for a signature cocktail in the evenings, channel your European palette at the Captain's Library Restaurant with fine French cuisine, or go Italian at Marco's Pizza Parlor.

Pleased with location no problems with shuttle bus to Disneyland. Hotel adequate needs comfy seating area (family bar closed) no where to relax after a long day with family. Breakfast was fine a bit hectic..Grandchildren really enjoyed the pool.

No hot Water!

We had no hot water for two whole days, after one day in disneyland in the pouring rain all we wanted especially with a two year old was a nice warm bath and we had no hot water, asked reception various times to which they didn't give us a definite answer, I felt as if they had no idea what was going on, by day three we had been upgraded room for the inconvenience which was a suite which was fantastic!!! Room was unbelievable, best I have ever stayed in. But guess what... Still no hot water !! So this is day three without water with a two year old who has a bath every night part of her routine and who was soaked through and freezing cold! Rang reception who said they would send a service man who turned up eventually, which is better than the night before that we waited up until midnight for one and no one turned up. We had read in the lift also in the way to our room on day three that a new sign had been placed which requested if you could stick to using your shower between 7.30-11pm!! I didn't pay almost £900 for three nights to be disctated to as to when I could have a bath!! Especially with a two year old, and surprise surprise got hot water at 7.40pm!!! Was lovely having a bath after three days!! But it should not have to be when the hotel tells you that you can. Other issue we had was swimming pool was absolutely freezing and showers were freezing cold also!!! So wanting to warm up and couldn't as no hot water!! Our little one has come home and now has cold! We set of from home at 6.30am in the morning and as finally arrived at hotel at around dinner time, the hotel itself is fantastic!! Swimming pool, soft play, pizza place, park outside, and two restaurants. But our little one was hungry and all that was open was a sandwich place that didn't really cater for children. There was no other shops open to get any dinner for our daughter so she ended up with a yogurt, there are no shops around also, and althought we booked a package deal with flights and hotel we weren't allowed to check in till 3pm which was three hours to wait with no food and no shops open. Luckily you were allowed to store our bags in a free locker so we could enjoy the soft play and park and have a look round hotel for couple hours. Distance from disney land is fantastic, and free shuttle every 10 minutes! Food from Buffett, expensive and nothing for children apart from chips! Didn't try al a carte restaurant as pricey also. Paris overall was very expensive. Universal studios was great to meet and greet but no rides working for our two year old. Disneyland was fantastic!!!! No faults at all. Enjoyed the whole experience especially with free quick shuttle two and from hotel meant we could come home and go back for our tea later in the parks grounds. Overall had a great few days, but even thought hotel was fantastically equipped, soft play, swimming pool etc we were highly disappointment and wouldn't recommend. A letter of complaint will be written.

Highly recommend it.

Explorers Hotel is a very well run Family Hotel with a fantastic swimming pool for the kids, a playground and a play area. The kids definitely would be kept busy if you were having a night off from Disney Parks. The Staff are extremely friendly but like anywhere in Disney, food and drink and anything 'Disney' is a bit pricey. Although our rooms were cleaned every day, our sheets were not changed even though we stayed for a week. I would still go back and stay there again!

Shopping tip: Not Applicable

One stop up on the Train, there is a huge Shopping Centre called Val d'Europe. As well as a number of shops, there is a great Supermarket where you can stock up on fruit and drinks as you will find that you will be eating lots of junk food at Disney and drinks can be expensive.

Ok

I went with my grandson ,the amenities were fantastic he was never bored the pool and play area were fab but the room wasn't very clean , when we arrived we unpacked and wanted a cup of tea , no creamer !So I rang guest services he was very rude and said they had run out and I would have to buy some from the bar .We were on the 1st floor from 10pm to 1 am it was very noisy just like a herd of elephants running about and screaming . The breakfast and the staff in the restaurant were very nice , if I stayed at this hotel again I would insist on a top floor room

a mixed hotel

This hotel has both positives and negatives. The facilities for the children are fantastic. The pirate ship and fun house were a big winner and provided a welcome break for parents to sit down for a bit and have a drink from the bar. The swimming pool is brilliant and the slides were enjoyable. Unfortunately before we got in we had to pay €12 for trunks from a vending machine because french policy does not allow you to wear swimming shorts?! It would be nice to see this advice in the literature. Luckily we had taken towels but if we hadn't there was a further charge for these! The rooms are okay and a good size however it wasn't the cleanest. The tea and coffee provided in the room was a bit disappointing - a single tea bag, sachet of dried milk and coffee. It wasn't even replenished daily. The walls seemed thin and noisy - we had a school group next door who were partying until the early hours. Breakfast is pretty disappointing. Old croissants, rolls, bread and some ham and rubber for cheese. Cereals okay and the coffee was alright. You could get cooked breakfast but unsurprisingly you had to pay extra. Overall the hotel was okay. If the children's facilities hadn't been as they are it would have been a real disappointment. All the extra charges are irritating as it's not a cheap hotel.

Great family hotel

Hotel is excellent base for disney. Room is clean and adequate for four people. Impressed that hairdryer , toiletries, kettle and coffee all provided. Restaurant/ bar area has had a refurb and is much improved. the children loved to play on the huge pirate ship. Breakfast was excellent and although busy was easy to find a table with plentiful supply of food. Bus is a great service however can be tricky with small children as it gets very busy. This is our 2nd visit and will definitely return again.

I don't regret staying here, but won't stay again.

The reception staff was very nice, and the pool was impressive looking (didn't swim) with a dragon-shaped waterslide. This hotel would be great for kids, there were multiple pirate-themed play areas that looked great. The attention that they afford to the common/public areas of the hotel is not also given to the rooms. When we arrived our room was freezing, our friends nextdoor had a room that was sweltering hot. We adjusted the thermostats and the rooms normalized, but that shows the cleaning staff has to have bad attitudes, to do that to rooms. The front desk staff was very nice though, and spoke English very well. The showers in both rooms had tons of mold between the tiles. Neither room was well lit- you couldn't even put on makeup in the room or bathroom- it was so dim, even with every light on. The hotel restaurants were VERY overpriced. However, the free breakfast was excellent. My husband complained that eggs and bacon were 4 euro extra, but I was happy. The free selection included fresh fruit, breads/croissants, yogurt, ham, cheese, prunes, nuts, cereal, even flan. Orange juice, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were also available. It is very close to Disney and the shuttles were great- but always packed. Disney itself was not very busy while we were there on rainy weekdays, so I can't even imagine using one of these shuttles during high tourist season. All in all, it wasn't that bad and I mostly enjoyed my short stay, but because of the moldy showers I would never go back. There are 2 other big hotels right next door that I would try. I picked this one because it was discounted more than the other two (Dream Castle and Magic Circus Hotels). FYI, all three hotels use the same shuttle service.

I would definitely recommend to go to Disney when it's raining, on a weekday. We never waited more than 15-20 minutes for a ride, most were 10 minute waits. It was fantastic, if you are willing to get a bit wet. The next day it was sunny (still a weekday), and the same rides had 60 minute waits.
