Homecoming
Good location
The hotel needs improvements, carpets, paint etc.. it shows its age. In the rooms there are lots of details that could be improved, towels bars in the bathroom, newer furniture etc... I would go back because the location is great and the price is right and I can overlook things, but for someone demanding I would just let them know of the shortcomings.

Mercure Nice Grimaldi
Great location. Inexpensive lounge. Staff was extremely helpful, no matter what we asked. Nice tanning deck on the roof. I would recommend it to others. It's only about 6 to 7 blocks from the beach.

Some bars are expensive, some were much less expensive. Check pricing before you enter. It's a great town to visit. It's just beautiful with the sea so close.

Had a great time
Room was decent sized, especially for the money. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very quite, even though the hotel was booked, we never heard another guest from our room. We also really liked the location, Nice is very walkable and the hotel was in between most of the things we wanted to walk to.

Short walk from hotel
The restaurant we like the best was In Vino, in old town. There were surprisingly a lot of mediocre restaurants in Nice. In vino was nice french food that wasn't too expensive, and the service was very good. There were a lot of recommended restaurants online that weren't open any more.

Good Deal
My stay was very enjoyable. The location was superb, and the staff was very helpful for a first-timer to Nice, including being patient with my limited French and communicating in good English. I definitely recommend this hotel to other travellers for its price, location, and service.

Some very decent and reasonable restaurants are within a short walk (some just one block) from the hotel along the pedestrian. Plenty of shopping can be done there, too.
