Hotels in Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est stations, Paris

Location is difficult if yoy do not know the area. Helpful reception staff, good clean room,clean linen. The room size is reasonable. Breakfast was EXTRA cost -Expensive at Euro 13.00 per head - NOT GOOD VALUE.

Rooms are Clean - clean bathroom and clean linen. Receptionist is helpful. Breakfast not included EXPENSIVE at Euro 13.00 per head - not good value. Location of hotel is difficilt to find and communication by third parties of the route direction caused problems.

This hotel was very nice and definitely worth the stay. There was however a point of confusion on the airport transfers. They are NOT included in the price (as advertising implies). The staff was always very helpful and accomodating and the breakfast was excellent. Metro station is very close. I would recommend staying but be prepared to pay for the taxis.

I've stayed here three times. The first two times, the rooms were well-equipped, normal-sized, and very pleasant. The third time, arriving late at night, I was assigned a room that was incredibly small, with barely enough room to move from one side of the room to the other, with no closet, and with essentially no surface space for toiletries in the bathroom. On every occasion the desk personnel have been cheerful and very helpful.

nous avons séjourné avec nos 2 enfants dans une chambre pour 4, plutôt spacieuse. La salle de bain était propre et pratique. Aucun problème de voisinage. Le quartier est très bien désservi par le métro. Nous y reviendrons.

The location and staff were excellent. I was always treated respectfully and enthusiastically. I would return to this hotel on my next visit.

For Paris the room was a decent size albeit compact but a full sized double bed and daily maid service and separate toilet/shower and window opend fully onto Blvd Magenta. The TV was basic French channels and no satellite but for the money I was quite satisfied. Free Wi-FI a definite PLUS! DId not try the breakfast but very good bakery at the corner with croque monsieur for E2.50 and also Alsacian specialy shop nearby at Gare D'Lest. I walked from Gare du Nord and quite convenient if coming from London for the weekend. Three metro lines serve Gare De L'est and bus service too. This is a typical tourist class hotel- no real frills - a room with comfortable bed and decent service and reception was very nice and all understood and spoke good English.

Too many of the reviews I read before staying here gave the hotel a bad name. To an American used to traveling in America and staying in hotels there, yes, the rooms are small. But compared to my other experiences traveling through Europe, the size of the rooms were perfectly respectable. Anyway, if you're in Paris, you shouldn't be staying in the room all the time. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was great and a money saver (it was included with my reservation), and the hotel is in an EXCELLENT location, only a block or so away from Gare de l'est metro hub. The walls are somewhat thin, but again, not unusual for Europe and considering the cost, definitely not a negative. To summarize: A great hotel unless you are intending to stay in your room all the time, and even then it's still pretty good. I would definitely return here.

The reception is friendly. The elevator could take a while (typical of older hotels in Paris). Bathroom is small but modern and clean. The best part is the location, walking distance (within 30 minutes) to places on my itinerary: Gare du Nord, Marais, Les Halles, Galerie Lafayette, Louvre. This is also a Monoprix and a metro stop, Faubourg St-Denis (with 3 lines) nearby.

Hotel trés convenable, au coeur de ville avec des accés au transport en commun trés facile. Les déplacements à pieds permettent d'être trés rapidement au LOUVRE

Das Hotel liegt direkt an der Metrostation République, die von 5 Metrolinien bedient wird und ist somit ideal an alle Sehenswürdigkeiten angebunden. Abends kann man sehr gut ausgehen in den diversen Bars und Cafés um die Ecke. Das Zimmer ist recht klein, jedoch wurde an vieles gedacht, sogar ein kleiner Tisch mit Sitzmöglichketen hat Platz gefunden. Das Bad ist vollkommen in Ordnung und ausreichend. Insbesondere der Kaffee, Tee und Wasser der in der Lobby angeboten wird ist sehr schön. Das Frühstück ist in Ordnung. wenn auch wenig abwechslungsreich. Auch war ein komischer Geruch in unserem Zimmer und abends ist der Straßenlärm doch recht laut. Insgesamt ein sehr gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis!

I stayed in this hotel while I visited Paris during spring break. The hotel location is fantastic, close to metro station for many lines. Good breakfast. Room is small but functional, we had a room which can sleep 3. Did not hear anything from neighbor. comfort bed too.

My wife and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at this gem of a hotel. Rooms are large and spotless. The bathroom shower was big and water pressure was strong. Desk staff are kind and helpful. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The hotel is easy to reach from C.D.G. Airport. Take R E R blue line to Gard Du North. Metro to Riquet, or Crimee and you will have no problem.

Stayed here for 3 nights with girlfriend - typical trip to Paris. A metro station is right outside the hotel, so that was very useful. Not that close to the main tourist area (Eiffel Tower/Arc/Louve - but not far enough away to make it difficult to get to. Staff are there 24/7 to let you in if you come back late which was handy. There is a nice bakery the other side of the busy road which will make a nice cheese and ham baguette on demand. The room was small and out dated + the shower didn't work so we had to take baths each morning but we managed and there were no major issues. FOR COUPLES WHO WANT A DOUBLE BED: When checking in we were asked if we wanted two singles or a "big bed" so this option should be available to you unless you visit during very busy days. Overall, a simple stay with no issues. (Breakfast is 8€ but we did not have this during our stay)

The staff was great, always helpful. The breakfast was handy and very pleasant. It was easy to use the metro to get to the places we wanted to go. This is not a fancy place but very clean. It is my kind of place because I can save my money to do other things.

Palvelu oli hyvää vastaanotossa ja aamiaisella. Aamiaishuone oli vaatimaton ja liian pieni, kun hotelli oli täynnä. Huone oli pieni mutta viihtyisä. Hotellin sijainti on mainio aivan Gare du Nord -rautatieaseman ja linja-autojen päätepysäkin lähellä. Hyvät yhteydet junalla lentoasemalle ja linja-autolla tai metrolla ydinkeskustaan.

Sehr Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Zimmer war eher klein, aber sauber. Die Wände sind etwas zu dünn. Da wir früh in Paris ankamen, haben wir sofort das Zimmer bekommen. Normal 15Uhr. Sehr nettes Personal.

Hotel is in a great location, very close to the north train station and walking distance to Montmarte and Sacre Coeur. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, english was very good. The room was VERY small, but, if you're a tourist in Paris you won't be spending much time in the room except to sleep! Other than the size of the room, it was very neat and tidy, same with the bathroom. All around, very nice little hotel, would consider staying here again if/when I return to Paris.

Looking for a place to sleep. Hotel magenta was perfect. Clean.. free wifi.. helpful staff. Less than a minute walk to metro. Perfect for touring paris and sleeping on a budget!

I booked a Premium Room (6th Floor) to ensure that the room was spacious. Price included Breakfast. Receptionist was very helpful. I had difficulty in using the internet provided in ground floor, due I am not familair with Apple Computer Configuration. If you can afford the higher price, the up-grade is worth having in order to avoid feeling closed in. I did not see the other standard rooms.

Wonderful breakfast, perfect location. I got a great rate through Orbitz and they did not charge extra for my daughter. Close to metro and in a hip quartier.

Location of this small but very comfortable hotel is pehaps the first quality which recommends itself-not located by any particular tourist sights-Notre Dame, etc.-but well within walking distance to many attractions and if not wanting to walk Metro station Oberkampf a mere block away. The immediate neighbourhood is very much a lived in one that contains all the amenities one would expect-restaurants,bars, grocers and much more. Hotel staff is young and friendly and guests ranged from tourists to business people.

Both good and bad impressions. The hotel is nice enough, in a fairly good location. A Velib bike station is located right in front of the hotel, which is a real bonus, if you like to cycle around Paris. The room was pretty small, but we got a room at the top, with a little balcony with a great view. The hotel looks much better in the photos than it does in real life, but it was just fine for a weekend getaway (did not think it was worth the price, but Paris hotels are expensive). The negative about the experience was that there was no iron in the room and they blankly refused to bring one to the room. I needed it to iron a shirt before going out and as housekeeping was not available at that time, and they refused to lend us an iron, I had to find something else to wear to a top restaurant. NOT NICE!!! Really left a bad impression. Would not stay there again because of it. The toiletries were also sparse - only a basic shampoo and a shower gel. No body lotion, no cotton swabs. The shower was broken and they had to come fix it before we could shower.

Au tarif de cette période (début avril & 120 € la nuit) c'est presque du parfait.

The room was very good although a bit small. It had been newly refurbished. The lobby and other parts of the hotel are a construction site. It is well located for the underground, as more of it is completed it will be a lot better.

We only had 2 nights in Paris and this hotel met our needs! Positives: Great location not far from Metro, hairdryer, internet, a basic breakfast of crescants and tea included, comfy beds, and affordable! Negatives: Loud at night (we were there on a friday and saturday night), and just a small basic room - small elevator if you ahve more than 2 people in group. We just wish we had more time in Paris- great city- easy to get around and the people were nice (even to americans like us).

ビジネスで利用したが、パリにしても客室が狭すぎる、宿泊した３階の部屋は大変に失望した。写真と違う、冷蔵庫やソファ、バスタブがない。まともなテレビやクローゼットも、引き出しもない。壁が薄く隣室や廊下、シャワーの物音が不愉快。特に水周りの音はかなり響く。夜間や早朝はエントランス施錠されて外出も不都合。複数名で同時に予約宿泊したのに部屋によって差が激しいのも不可解。キレイにしているのは写真映えするエントランスとレストランフロアーだけではないか？駅から近い利便性だけは好都合だが中心街ではないし。

Das Hotel zu finden war nicht ganz einfach, wenn man aber mal weiss wo es ist ist es echt toll. Man erreicht vieles zu Fuss, vorallem zur Opéra oder zur Galerie Lafayette zu laufen ist schön, es hat aber auch Métro Stationen ganz in der Nähe. Für Partyleute ist der Rex Club (ca 5-10min Fussweg vom Hotel) sicher interessant. Sonst eine hübsche Gegend zum Flanieren und Paris geniessen :)

Hôtel Défraichi, juste bien pour passer 2 nuits. Dommage car cet hôtel est extrêmement bien placé. Un coup de neuf des chambres serait plus que nécessaire. IL ne mérite pas les 2 étoiles

This hotel would might be a decent value if the front desk was anything less than arrogant and rude. [...] Unfortunately this rudeness continued throughout our stay. If a welcoming and friendly environment if important to your Paris visit you might want to stay elsewhere. Rooms are cramped and tired looking. The neighborhood is unspectacular.

If you're in Paris a brief time, and on a budget, the Meslay Republique is marvelously convenient. From Charles de Gaulle Airport, take the 30-minute RER B train to Gare du Nord, switch to the #5 metro and go three short stops to Republique. The hotel is less than a block from the Republique exit leading to Rue du Temple (one of several exits). The Meslay Republique is on a quiet street, and has a friendly, English-speaking staff that provided considerable help when my luggage was almost two days late in arriving -- handling several phone calls with the dysfunctional airport baggage department. My room was small but immaculate, with a window opening onto an internal courtyard and a renovated marble bathroom. Amenities are limited, so bring your own body lotion and conditioner. The TV get BBC World News in English, plus a bunch of French and other European stations. The bright breakfast room, constructed as a stone cavern in the basement, offered good self-serve fare and hot beverages provided by the sweetest ladies. Seconds on cafe au lait -- pas de problem! A McDonald's around the corner in Place de la Republique has free wi-fi, so you may skip the fee the hotel asks for Internet access. Rue du Temple, steps from the hotel, takes you into the Marais district, full of edgy boutiques, hip little restaurants and classic Jewish bakeries. But because the Republique metro stop is so close, you can really get to any destination in Paris very easily. Merci, Meslay Republique!
