Best Western Premier Opal

It was fine since my and me wanted to be near the places we wanted to visit in Paris, the attention and services was very good.

Date of trip: March 11-13, 2012 Room # 502 From the very start, an excellent impression. My flight arrived at 6:10 am, and I arrived at the hotel soon after. I asked to store my bags until check in; the friendly gentleman at the front desk took them and locked them up for me with no hesitation. I returned to the hotel just before check in time to rest my feet, and while I was waiting on the (very comfortable) lounge sofa, the staff took my bags up to my room. (I could hear the metro just a little from the lounge, but not at all from my room.) The room itself was much larger than I had expected. I had a 'Superior Room', and I would guess-timate that it was about 14'x16', at least - with a separate entry hall and HUGE bathroom. Not only was the bathroom huge, but had luxury amenities that were a very pleasant surprise: -A deep, long soaking tub (I'm tall, so this was a wonderful thing - perfect for soaking after long day of exploring the city) -Dual shower heads; one 'rain' type shower head in the ceiling, and another at chest height on the wall. -Heated towel rack and really big towels -Toiletries that smelled so good I wish I'd asked for more The bed was large, comfortable - and the room had black-out curtains. However, the view was so charming that I couldn't bear to close the drapes. My room overlooked Rue de Tronchet; windows opened completely and had a very Parisian view. Lovely! Minimal street noise. Mini bar was fully stocked, and pricing for mini bar items was not outrageous. Also important to note: I am very particular when it comes to hotel cleanliness, and my room (and the hotel in general) were VERY clean. The hotel's location is ideal. Three blocks from Place de la Concorde and the Right Bank. A nice, enjoyable stroll to the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre Dame, and most other Paris monuments. The Metro is litteraly STEPS away from the entrance to the hotel, and made getting to other areas of the city very easy. It's in a nice area, in a nice part of the city, and I felt totally comfortable and safe walking around, even late at night. While the hotel, it's location and the amenities were impressive, it was the staff that really made my stay comfortable and enjoyable. They were friendly, accomodating and personable. I would HIGHLY reccomend staying at this hotel. I can guarantee that I will be staying here again on my next visit to Paris. Clean, comfortable, great luxury touches, friendly service - and the true Paris 'boutique hotel' experience.

The hotel was clean, sweet and attractively appointed, but no 4-star, if you are expecting little things like a bellhop to help you with your bags. Room was very, very small. Breakfast buffet was included, which was one of the deciding points for me and it was average, but fine for all-included. No Eurosport on tv...and free wi-fi, so that's something. Absolutely fine, and nice location - just don't expect anything grand!

Have stayed at this hotel twice before. The remodeling has only made it better! Great location, great staff and clean, comfortable room. The Metro is one block away but we were able to walk to every site of interest from this great location. We know we will return to the Opal on our next visit to Paris.

The Hotel Opal Paris is clean and in a great location. Staff are helpful. Great coffee!
