Friendly and helpful staff.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was in need of an update but no worries there, that was underway on the fifth floor which is part of the reason I am giving this a 3 star instead of a 4 star. Construction started at 8 am, before we were up and ready for the day. Once the remodel is completed I think this will be an even better place to stay. Good location near the metro and lots of moderately priced restraunts in the neighborhood. A good point from which to begin many walks. Even though our room was rather tired looking the bed was excellent and the bathroom bright and clean!

Central Location, but Quiet

Hotel personel were extremely polite and helpful at all times. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Rooms are small but adequate. Breakfast at E14.00 is probably a bit steep, but very convenient. We took it every day. Elevator is something of a vertical coffin, one big bag and one person at a time, so expect to use the stairs, 63 steps to floor # 3. However, it always worked when needed. Location is unbeatable, we were able to reach anywhere in the Paris region very handily using the Metro & Bus. The hotel is situated at the edge of the tourist area and large stores, yet close to the more local types of stores and Parisian life on la rue des Martyrs etc. We would certainly be ready to go back.

Use The RATP, metro and bus. It is subsidized and well worth it.

Hidden gem in a cul de sac of hotels

A view of a small enclave of hotels with real people wandering up and down: no traffic! A corner away from the Metro, and a bustling Montmartre beyond. The room (always petite in Paris) was clean and boasted a minibar and a lovely bathroom Formidable

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Restaurant Chartier is fin-de-ciecle canteen dining: resplendent with brass, balconies, bustling black-clad waiters, and a constant stream of customers seeking the old Parisienne dining experience. Your mama may cook better, but this is hard to beat for a wonderful experience of traditional food, cheap vin du table and good prices. Our tip: go early for lunch and people-watch. There were lines (queues) of people all week-end!

Excellent Paris Hotel

This is an excellent hotel for American travelers. We are particular about having clean, comfortable, modern rooms with large beds and modern clean bathrooms. This hotel has all of that but still has the very centralized Paris location (9th arrondissement) a block and a half from a very central Metro stop so that you can get virtually anywhere in the city in 10-15 minutes. That Metro stop also has one of the few Metro ticket machines that accepts foreign credit cards so you have no issues getting tickets.
