Great location
Perfect for weekend in Paris after arriving by Eurostar - walking distance from station. Meals in hotel a bit pricey but no need to eat in as plenty of good restaurants within 15 mins walk. Metro line within 5 mins walk

A great Paris location
The Hotel Pavillon Paris is located within easy walking distance of many Paris attractions and only one block from the Metro and a main Boulevard (Bonne Novelle) with many buses. Initial reaction is that it is an old facility, which is true. Main elevator is old cage type, not working during visit, but an alternative was available. However, English language newspapers offered in hotel lobby; staff were very helpful. WiFi is available throughout facility.

Shopping tip:
Long walk from hotel
The major department stores have their main locations on Bd. Haussmann, about 1 Km away. Galleries Lafayette definitely worth a visit just for the view for rooftop (8th Floor) and of the inside dome.

Really nice, in good location
We had a really nice experience. Location is great, walking to anything, shopping, sightseeing, about 30 min to Notre-Dame. Staff is great. We had executive room, 3 people fit in nicely. One more would be a little tight.

Clearly this is a 2 Star Hotel
Well, 25th Wedding Anniversary and Paris- better book a nice 4 Star hotel in the centre of Paris with a nice in-house restaurant. First impressions were good- nice location just off a main thoroughfare of Paris near a couple of Metro stops. The hotel is adorned with tacky Holiday Inn livery on the outside but inside the lobby was a rather rich 19th Century cosy feel. The lift that led to the room was also quaint- small- adapted from an original design to try and make it a feature. Just don't expect a 21st Century lift! Then on to the the "Executive Room"- I had requested a room with 2 beds as we had our 13 year old daughter with us. Well, a smaller room I have actually had in Japan...that is saying something! The second bed turned out to be a sofa bed. A SOFA BED IS NOT A SECOND BED!! This "bed", when extended, totally blocked my ability to cross from my side of the bed to anywhere on the other side of the room. However, I did practice a wobbly walk across the Queen bed to get to the ensuite. I dread to think what an older person would do! Then the TV was OK- LCD with various channels- feed from Hotbird mainly- BBC World, CNN and 2 other English channels. The usual movie channels for EU11 per movie. 24h internet was EU12 wireless or cable- "special offer" was EU18 for both. Room service stopped at 10.30pm, offering a very poor selection of mediocre fare. Breakfast was COLD- yes- actually COLD. In all my years travelling I have never had a cold plate with cold sausage, cold scrambled egg and cold bacon. Surely a health risk. Suggestion to hotel: measure the temperature of your meals (no, seriously!!)-oh and perhaps a couple more candles under food warmers. On plus side French pastries were nice. Orange juice- warm (yes WARM!)- coffee good and strong.Location of hotel was interesting- my daughter saw her first Lady of the Night down the street- wanted to know what handcuffs were for- nice touch! Clearly a 2 Star masquerading as 4 Star (shame on you Holiday Inn [...]). The lift broke down, there was no soap in our room for 2 days (we always bring supplies-just as well!)- kettle was dirty and not what I expected from either Holiday Inn or [...] Light in Bathroom broken- air conditioning only on heat not cool. Not happy for 25th wedding anniversary- not happy at all!! Beware= but Paris was lovely (no thanks to Holiday Inn!). I usually stay in Crowne Plaza (also same hotel group)- seriously- we will NEVER EVER stay in another so-called Holiday INN!

Decent Hotel, Good Price
I went to Paris with a couple of friends, and we mainly stayed there to sleep. We did not eat at the hotel. The staff is very friendly, and one of the receptionists helped us make a dinner reservation as well. The door man helped us save money by recommending a shuttle bus back to the airport instead of taking a cab which would have cost us more money. The only downside of this hotel was the room we got. It was small and had limited walking space, but it was okay since we were only there to sleep. The hotel is also located very closeby to the Metro station. Overall, it was a nice stay because the staff is so nice there.

Decent location and price
The hotel is 3 min walk from metro and allows quick access to the center city. You can also walk to center city or to Opera in about 20 min. Rooms are small, but this is Europe, so it was not a problem. Rooms were clean and had a safe. Pillows were thin and not comfortable. Breakfast was expensive, so we opted to enjoy the great selection of pastries and croissants with coffee in the near by shops visited by the Parisians on the way to work. Helpful tip: in order to go to the center city you can either get on the train 8 or 9 at the station near the hotel (3 min walk) and on the next stop change to train 4 or walk 8 min directly to the next stop for the train 4. In the morning we preferred to take a longer walk to the direct line to avoid switching the trains during rush hour, but when returning at night I would really suggest to switch back from 4 to 8 or 9 and ride 1 stop because the area near the exit from 4 is getting pretty rough and changes dramaticaly to a nice one within 2 blocks. So the actual hotel is located in the safe area. Internet access is arm and a leg (sorry, they asked not to mention prices). I was expecting a better deal for Europe, it is not in the middle of Africa for goodness sake.

Paris - Holiday Inn
At the hotel we heard everything each room next to us had to say. It was very hard to sleep with the people next to us, and the hotel staff did not help the situation with thier attitude. There was also a False alarm on the Fire Alarm one morning @ 5am, after rushing down stairs with people in thier underwear and bathrobes we were told it was a false alarm and had to deal with the noise for about an hour. No compensation was given, or even a meal offered which was pretty horrible. I would of even excepted a "Im sorry" which was never given out. Staff was rude except for 1 guy there. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, Stay at the Marriott it has always been a better choice.

We were pleasantly surprised after
We were pleasantly surprised after reading some negative comments about the hotel. We did not find it overly tired, and the room was a good size (executive room). The hotel has lots of character. It was a good location, close to metro and plenty of good local restaurants around. The hotel room was a great place to retreat to after minus degree temperatures during the winter days!
